  1. Goes without saying
  2. I think they did last time so there must be a way to get it done, but as someone posted further up the "assets" are only assets to the creditors owed money in the last CVA. So they might find it harder to get the go ahead to sell assets that could be used to pay those creditors in order to pay running costs. Just think, the original CVA said that they would raise x amount in player sales to get the ball roling. If they had bothered to attempt that instead of bringing expensive players in they might of actually been solvent right now. We always tried to run within our means and although Markus (and now family) spent allot to get us where we are now, I wonder how close to breaking even we are now? If the family were to pull out would we be able to run until a new buyer was found? Or would we find that we need to sell again to get us back to a running level?
  3. It was thought that the payments were nothing to do with the club so it would of been no, but the prosecution is claiming they were payments relating to do with the work at pompey so I suppose if proven guilty the FL can take action. Luton had points docked due to tax things but to be fair they had loads of counts where as Harry and Milan have only 2 counts. Not sure if the amount will have anything to do with possible FL sanctions or just the fact that there are any at all. If by chance they are proven guilty and the FL take it to be something they can dock points for then the only thing it will do is discourage any potential buyers even further. Anyone with a spare £20 - £30 million wishing to invest in football would have to like a serious challenge to take on pompey, and seriously deluded to think its wise to take on a club with so many problems and facing some serious lack of points this season or possibly next. So their time may run out before anyone can see the full picture and they may go pop before points deductions can make any difference. Or the FL may be hoping thats the case anyway.
  4. Sunderland has a massive following and I think Bolton have bigger income thatn Pompey though. Its all well and good the Ho comparing pompeys debt with other teams but he is comparing them with established Prem teams with half decent grounds and good support, he should be compating them with lower league 1 teams who dont tend to have the same debt levels as the ho claims were OK for that sized club.
  5. Chinny leant money to people who bought the club, thats why he had a charge on it, he also leant the club money last time round to keep it going while someone else promised to pay him a shed load of cash for the club. That cash didnt turn up so he is still owed money that he in-directly put into the club. Thats what I can gather anyway. The parachute payments were supposedly dipped into and depending on what day of the week it is, AA claims the parachute payments cover the CVA or who ever buys the club needs to put in enough to cover the CVA as it falls due. Why would they need that if the Parachute payments cover it? That many storys have come out over what is owed and to who its very hard to keep up, but my guess is that the debt and what money is available is somewhere in between the 2 extremes AA likes to spout. If pompey was another business and not footy it would have been liquidated a long time ago, as it is supposed to be all about footy I would guess there will be life line after life line in a bid to save it. But ultimately its best chances are to cut run and setup an AFC. Sooner the phew realise that the better IMO.
  6. booting them out seems like the best option all round but we all know its the very last option they will take and no doubt cram in several other "options" in there for good measure. Would be bloody funny though. Tied for top spot till Pompey go pop and those points hand us the Championship winners title which boosts us onto another huge stint in the top flight. Maybe even a few FA Cup's and the possible Europe trips. Even the possability of realising NC's idea of Champions league football. All within the life time of the skates who loved to laugh while they were on borrowed (or should I say Stolen) time as the top south coast team. Can just imagine the little scales on their faces as they watch order be restored.
  7. yeah your right there. It doesnt look like non payment of wages will be enough to push for Admin. HMRC might be ready to take action however.
  8. I know its a different league n all but how many paydays did Hearts miss before the SPL finally had a word? Didnt Pompey pay a few wages late in their previous yet drawn out mess? TBH didnt get paid for months!!!! So payday may highlight what a mess they are in but I doubt it will cause any of them to declare they need the help of administration. No doubt they will use the wage money to pay for another signing or something daft. Just think, if they had kept the wage bill down and played the kids they could be looking at the edge of a relegation battle all season but be safe in the knowleged that there are worse teams that are almost garaunteed to go down ahead of them. Now they may end up with a 20 pointer which saves the Clot and Forrest. lol
  9. I cant see how they can not get some kind of penalty to be honest and if Lord windbag was still there I am positive something would of been said by now. But they have stayed very quiet and its like they are hopeing someone else takes over before they have to make a decision. I think something should happen but I have a feeling the FL are hoping for the mess to be swept under a carpet somewhere.
  10. You say that but they seem to be very quite regarding all things pompey. Perspective new owners dont even seem to be asking the questions about possible points penalty. I think when ML took us over there were at least conversations about what can be done about the points penalty. I think it had alreadty been decided by then which helps but it was a hot topic before the decission and anyone who showed interest were wise to consider it. So why has JoCa bundled on without a thought of a points penalty? What about the ex singer whats his face? He rants on about wanting to come up with a rescue package but not once has he mentioned sanctions from the FL. Its almost as if all the people wanting to be involved automaticaly assume that the club wojnt get points due to the parent being in the shiiiite.
  11. I can just hear that being sung at SMS. You might be onto something. Lol
  12. Ah fair enough, makes him sound a little better then. Good european oppo's or average?
  13. Just a thought but while we seem to be trying very hard to get Hooper in, I wonder how many goals he has scored againts Rangers? Surely that would be the best bench mark this season as the other games goals were against oposition that would struggle in our league 1?
  14. Good points. I'd say on a head to head game between us both now I would expect Celtic to come out on top more often than not but I agree with what others have said and think Celtic would be a mid table championship team if they were to play down here. Mainly because the standard week in week out would be tougher than in the SPL, it would take a few seasons IMO for the likes of Celtic and rangers to make their quality count the most and challenge for promotion. Obviously we are at the top at the moment but I think most of us expected mid table with a late push for top 6 so I'm basing this all on expectations rather than boasting about where we sit and so on. I can't see us bidding £6m for hooper normally but guess Adkins knows him so it is possible. More so I can't see Celtic taking that either unless hooper refuses to play or something daft so its prob not going to happen. Thanks for the ballenced view though and good luck with the rest of the season.
  15. Hope it goes well for him. He seems to have stalled a bit and needs games to get going again. He is one I hope will finally make it with us and if he doesnt I think he will be one who makes it somewhere else and we will wonder why we let him go.
  16. To be fair, what Adkins has said and what actually happens might not be the same thing. Im sure he is trying to get Hooper or even using Hooper as a smoke screen to try and get someone else. But if we are trying to take a teams best goal scorer and someone who will not only help us in promotion but also do well in the prem, then there is a very high chance it wont happen. I am happy that we seem to be always aiming one step ahead of where we are trying to go but prepared to be disapointed as our hopes may not always come off.
  17. Where is the webchat then? usually loads of posts on here amusing the rest of us
  18. Last season we couldn't get enough left backs and now it seems strikers are the only thing in the shopping cart. I can't imagine we are aiming to get them all though. Lee is just set to sign terms I guess and hooper sounds like the main target while we still have lambert, Connolly, guly, Barnard and have the likes of reeves being brought into the 1st team more often and a fair but of talent coming through the development squad. Would be nice to understand the thinking or planning going on
  19. Straight to http://www.hahasport.com and the first saints link is the English one. Seems a bit jittery at the mo but better than nout
  20. So will they be saved this week or will the FL stuff them with a points penalty? I would of thought a points penalty would dampen any remote interest they claim to be attracting? Also if their hot favourites have now been replaced with Howe could it be the hot favourites from last week had enough of a look at the books and real debt and thought "Not a fecking chance!!!" ???
  21. While it was wrong to go down that route and well done to SG for clearing the posts off the board, it may end up being a good Thing as I doubt the Ho will be as quick with the insults now he has no anominity to hide behind. Although it is the Ho so ya never know
  22. Sorry I should of added more winkey thingys. ;)
  23. Christ you talk some crap on there. Nice to put a face to a name though even if it looks like some dodgy back street porn fanatic.
  24. Id forgotten that was our record. Is this Hooper really worth breaking that record for?
  25. Doubt 5 years is that target but I would guess the plan is to build a team that can take on the next level, as that level is achieved we build for the next level and so on. Our aim is to create the type of player that we would normally have to pay big bucks for and keep hold of them until the next batch of top players are created. When (or IF which is more likly) we get to the level that has European adventures we will need to be attracting a larger paying audience and as such may need a higher capacity ground to help finance whagt would be a much more expesive squad. Our current following and capacity couldnt afford to pay players £100's of thousands a week but NC has said in the past that he is not against paying those kind of wages as long as the club can pay them within its own means. Shed loads of IF's attached to all of that but its a nice target to aim for and would be stunning to get even half way there with the odd dip into europe.
