I think the Prem are a little more sporting than the FL on that front. Didnt the FL make Bournmouth go through all there keepers before they let them sign an emergency loan? Not saying they wont let you sign one but I think there pretty strict (or have been in the past) so make sure your youth keepers are gone before the season starts and you will have more of a chance. Im impressed with some of the poopy supporters attitudes since aa has announced Chainrai wants the club now its shed 80% of its debt. I think more of them now realise why we have been calling them cheats. I dont think anyone wants to see there club acting like this so fair play to them for finally getting it. Seem to recall the Leeds fans not being overly happy at how there administration was done too. Suppose fans should take what they can but its nice to see some humility every now and then.

Im sure AA has a plan and no doubt when they finally get into Europe the extra they have spent will be covered in full.

At this rate they will be fine well in time for the new season and the bestest fans in the whole wide world will still get to see some world class football week in week out. lol

There wage bill is rocketing down. Wont be long till they are running within a nice small budget and competing fairly with those around them

If a wage cap is based as a certain percentage of income then it could work. If man city bring in 100 million a year and the wage cap is 50% = 50 mil compared to a club that takes 100k then man city would still have an advantage due to being a bigger club. I can understand a club wanted the best players and often teams like real Madrid make much of there outlay on players back due to shirt sales and sponsorship. Ronaldo might have cost allot but was probably halved by the time they have milked his name for sponsorship and so on. Can't see ya ya having the same impact on the club though as he is not that big a name surely?

To be fair its not a bad idea. The league changed the way the reserve leagues are formed the year after we won (or came close to winning) the reserve league when we were still mixed in with prem teams. We were in the CCC but our reserves rocked!!! They changed it and we were mixed with names of teams I dont even know. If all of the so called bigger teams pull out and look to loan more players away then the reserve leagues will be really week and be even less usfull to those that are left in them.

TBH I thought he was older than that. We have just signed alegedly the best RB in L1 at 27 years old so I have no witty answer for you. lol

Only problem I see with that is AA and Co are set to be the Liquidizers. If they can bend the facts however they want now whats stopping them do it as liquidators? If they do things the way they have done them so far then the final report will probably suggest that Poopy were actually 100 million in credit and it was all a big mistake.

Not even a Xmas bonus? I worked at a garage washing and delivering cars for a while and even there I got £20 bonus at Xmas. Best one I had was %15 of a years pay. They messed up on the contract and failed to notice how much OT I put in that year. They were not overly impressed at handing over my bonus. lol

We probably wont need too as we are after decent players that are not trying to cash in on a club willing to spunk money on has beens.

Maybe he means we are not worth worrying about as we will be up at the top and not one of the teams he expects to be battling with? The other 20+ teams however are who they will be competing with and he may be worried that the competion will be firmly in there favour? As much as I expect us to be pushing for the automatics I know seasons dont always play out the way it is hoped so dont want to take it for granted. Pards had a shocker at Charlton for some reason. There are no dead certs that history wont repeat its self so im still keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes right for us this season.

Seriously though, are there realy many companys that dont pay bonus'? Everywhere I have worked pay a Xmas bonus as long as the company has reached its targets for the year. Only had one job that had a performance bonus but a bonus is a bonus right?

Brilliant signing. I guess with him being in the team of the year he should be good enough to step up to NPC level next season. Still continuing to build for the future without neglecting the present. Love it. 1 or 2 more in before we go on tour????? So what position would be the next target?

To counter that, isnt there some rule for FL clubs to have to keep wages to so much of there revenue or something?

I doubt we are running the wage bill out of control like some other clubs and I doubt we are far off from breaking even on all turnover. But I also would have thought that we are running at cost of a team trying to make it in the NPC (CCC) and will continue to do so while being helped along where needed by ML until we are at a level where we can generate the money to pay for it and not rely on ML anymore. So the aim is probably to live within our means but to get there ML will need to dip in to help out.

There are clearly some similarity's between the 2 but does that make NC as bad as Lowe or was Lowe just not that bad? Lowe was trying to run the business within its means while venturing out to generate its own funds to move it forward. (failed) NC is trying to run the business within its own means but with financial backing he will be trying to make the club big enough to generate its own funds enough to support it at the highest level. That means ultimatly 30,000 saints fans will have to pay more to support such a team or the club will need to find another 30,000 or so fans to increase the cash coming in. (if he really does want to take the club to THE highest level) Dont think Lowe ever tried to take the club forward based on a nice fat wad in the bank and dont think he would be the best option in that situation. NC would be my choice in the current climate based on the little we know of him so far. If we had a choice of NC or Lowe in the previous climate with no financial backing then what is there to suggest he could have done any better? He may have been as useful as Wilde!!!

Ruperts Vision took us to the FA Cup Final and our highest prem finish to go along with our relegation. Looks pretty boss eyed to me too.

Write History however you want but at the end of the day it is still History and most of us have moved on. Most have said they are Happy LC is still a fan and most agree that at least he tried to do something. Many dont think what he did was that helpful but many do. The constant falling out between the 3 main people at the top had plenty to do with our downfall. But I doubt any one of them deliberatly fell out to bring us down. Lowe's financial acumen didnt do anything to make us rich but we must have had one of the lower budgets in the prem and we always lived within our means. We went down with money in the bank and that was not spunked on a gamble by Lowe. Its nice that LC is back supporting the club and I hope he enjoys the ride as much as we will. Let the rest be put to bed.

not read the article but I suppose where you live might make a difference. If I still lived back in Hedge End I dont think I would let my kids walk or cycle to school even if I lived next door to the school. Living in Torquay I am about 300 yards from my kids school and I let them walk home on there own once they are 8 and over. 7 year old is gagging to do it but even though I consider the route safe and short enough I still think he is too young. So to let a 5 year old do it I am not suprised the social are getting involved.
