True point for players like rasiak or sherringham but I'm not sure Antonio fits into the same bracket. I may be wrong (probably am) but it looked more luck than skill last year. He looked clumsy most of the time with a poor 1st touch. Football people must see enough in him to think that can all improve so I'm prolly talking gash. Just my opinion on last season. Got some crucial goals but didn't look all that. Had a song the fans could sing together which might have made him more popular.

I think he did well for us but I saw more good luck at being in the right place at the right time than pure skill. Maybe in training people saw more. Wouldn't throw loads of money at reading though.

When bournmouth had the embargo the press reports were all about how tough things were. Jump forward to the pompy embargo and the only thing we hear is what players they are refusing to sell and what prem players they are about to sign. Someone in the FL getting special favours from AA or something? It's been taking the **** for a while but it continues to grow into a full on comedy act. At what point do other teams in the FL ask questions about this biased treatment?

Just seen saints twitter saying something about what pards has had to say about him and a link to saints player. Anyone know anymore? I'm guessing it's something like we tried to get him but reading want too much or something?

Im sure they dont need to sell. AA has said so a number of times. SC must have upset him by getting in loans to cover the defence so he must have asked to leave the bestest club in the world.

I was a bit confused the other day when I saw something on SSN saying about the world cup party visiting the UK about the bid. I didnt pay much attention but there was a map of the world with a load of places on it including places all over the country. I was suprised to see Pompy as one of the places on the map along with Plymouth and everywhere else north of london. If it was the places they are visiting then why are they visiting Pompy?

Agree with that and it can be said for a few people on here I think.

I understand that which is why I think "Everyone" needs to take a breath 1st sometimes. If Alps thought before typing sometimes it might not come accross in the same way. That said however, unless everyone else also takes a breath before typing there will also be many ready to madly react to anything he says. It doesnt matter if he has a point or not anymore IMO. Im not pointing Alps out as there are a few names on here that get and give the same reaction to almost every thread and it gets pretty teadious sometimes. I like the debate but the groundhog day behaviour is starting to grate a little.

Not trying to stick up for you as IMO you get yourself into enough trouble so think you can sort yourself out, but I was thinking yesterday that you seem to have a following of people ready to slate just about anything you say. You dont help as your original post shows on this thread, you make a comment that will get a reaction and by the time you get round to defending your original comment its like WW3 and we are into page 3 of sh*te. Western Saint replied in the best way to your comments and like me agreed with what we think you were trying to say. I think when your reasoning of reaction comments are read in the right way they come accross as valid and worth debating. Too many people are ready to jump down your throat to make reading 70% of the thread worthless. Think everyone could do with taking a breath before they type sometimes.

The comment #4 from exgaffer is spot on though. It's fans like that I feel sorry for when times are tough. Shows up how bad some of the other so called fans really are.

There seem to be enough media outlets that are finding other ways to put up (or not) pictures of our club so I guess there is still a Market for our pics. If all the other clubs in the league take the same stance though, it will create an extra revenue for all of them. The more successful and the more news worthy the club the better the revenue. I would have thought prices between clubs would be comparative to each other so where you spend on away games you make it back on your home games, but the press would have to chip in too. How many times do the press publish negative storys about a club, player or owner? If they said nothing but happy positive things about every club then they could maybe claim they are paying for the privalige of reporting and taking pictures because they are giving us great headlines. I don't see how we owe the press anything so don't see a problem in making some money out of them. They don't make the papers for fun and are happy to charge us for there news.

In one wayt I suppose you can say he was misused but TBF the pitches he was meant to be playing on week in week out didnt really set the stall out to show off his tallents. I think had we be playing on more decent pitches more often he may have been used more. He was gash on a crap pitch so it may have had something to do with it.

I think the whole club is trying to be based on a team effort from all area's. NC being the "main man" will never work unless he has other "main men" that are experts in there field. collectivly it should be good. If one is not up to the job then it shouldnt mean all the other wheels fall off.

Maybe more personal opinion than actualy knowing anything but if I was picking the team I would be putting him behind the front 2 as I think he can open up a defence on his day and make a difference. Just dont see him as the kind of player to be breaking up attacks and guarding the defence, when he played along side Wooton they were only effective when Wooton did the defensive work and layed it off to Morgan to do something more creative. I admit I have not seen him play nearly enough to give an opinion worth anything but from the little I have seen I would have him further up the park. This brazilian sounds like he will be taking that role so maybe Morgan will be further back than I thought. Dont see him on the right unless he will be doing the becks type passes from the half way line and he wont shift Lallana from the left so he will have to shift Hammond or Wooton or be 1 of 5 in the middle with 1 striker missing out. Maybe, -----------Hammond------------- Punch----Morgan----------Lallana ----------------Guly------------- ---------Lambert---------------- ??

Nice to have a Brazilian in the team and looks like it could be a big scoop. I would have thought he would be replacing Morgan as the attacking midfileder and leave Hammond as the defensive midfielder? Dont really see Morgan as a defensive kind of player and I would be supprised to see 2 attacking midfielders in the middle without dropping one of the strikers. Judging by his haircut I think he may have taken the brazillian wax a little too far though.

Haha brilliant! If we buck our ideas up and put together a run to the automatic spots then the national newspaper will look more silly and give us more press coverage the harder they try not too. It will become a story in its self and more will talk about the south coast club than they would of about the saints! On a serious note, If every club took this stance then they would make back the revenue from each other on the few pics they would need to buy but they would all make money out of the media. If the media wanted to play silly buggers with all the league clubs then more people would take the view that there paper is not worth buying also and they would be in trouble. Can all the other FL clubs be convinced to take this forward though?

I don't think there was anything wrong with SOG's comments. Basicly it looked like he was saying he hopes NC makes a decision on pardew based on correct football reasons rather than a falling out over lack of promotion last season. Lowe was known for not backing managers and rightly or wrongly he was hated for it. Personally I thought lowe was trying to do what he thought was right for the club but got too many key decisions wrong. NC is much the same and will do what he thinks is best for the club and I hope he gets more right than Lowe did. I think he will and if he does get rid of pardew I believe it will be because he has a plan that will take us forward in the way Markus and NC wanted us to go. Hopefully it will include a better manager that he will have already lined up rather than hit the sack button then try to wing it for a while with another gray or wigley. I don't think the panic button needs to be hit just yet but I do think pardew could be doing better. But so could the players be doing better as it's as much them wining or losing points as it is the manager.

Transfer embargo probably covers in attached players too as the embargo is in place for financial reasons rather than footballing reasons. So wages for any new player would only add to the problem so under the embargo, the FL would still have to give special dispensation to sign anyone.

I'm surprised the FL haven't suggested that they flog a player to pay some bills before they look at bringing more in. They were happy enough to ship players out of the door to thin there squad for dispensation. Paying bills is higher up on the list of priorities for every other club yet still they get support. They were the joke of the prem and pretty soon they will be the joke of the FL.

I can't see how the meeting on the 9th can result in anything but laughter from the board as they discuss pompy's requests. They know the facts of how they have manufactured there squad size for some sympathy and they will also know the rules on getting in loans. While they may fall for the sympathy vote they should stick to there own rules. Dispute what I think should happen, what probably will happen is the V's will continue to be flicked and rules will be broken all supported by the FL
