  1. Officialsaints on twitter are at it now!! Lol "Another impressive half of football under Nigel Adkins #saintsfc" As opposed to the half game of tiddley winks we were playing. Lol
  2. Just need to keep things tight for a bit and more chances will come. Came see this one turning into a good result.
  3. We are finally 1 up?? Get in!!
  4. You are actually paying for a service that the BBC used to proved with no problems as part of the licence fee. Only when Internet broadcasting rights were taken by the club in order to broadcast via saints radio station did the BBC stop free Internet broadcasts. Now the radio station is gone the club manage to screw up one way or another robbing the BBC feed and charge people for privalige!!
  5. A few years back my wife phoned me at work in a panic as we had come up with all numbers for £12 mil. I asked her to double check just before I tell my boss to do one and she realised her Wednesday ticket's numbers matched the previous saturday's draw!!! I was not overly amused.
  6. Exactly, I've no doubt that they intend to turn a profit at some point but they are at least building a plan that inflicted paying off the debt on route. If they wanted nothing but profit they could have guided them into admin and got an agreement to only pay 20% of the debt off. So the ho might not think much of gold and Sullivan but there are a whole lot more honourable than any of the sharks pompey have had at their club.
  7. I kind of remember his soft Scottish accent but nothing if what he said. Didn't exactly get many chances to say something mind.
  8. Spot on! It's not a dig and no I don't have saints player so I'll admit I'm mainly going on the text version of his interviews. His interview while still with scunny initially made me think he is a good talker and speaks sense. Within about 10 mins everyone noticed the third person type speaking. This is just a continuation of that really. I like what he has to say while thinking most of it is waffle in answer to the same old questions. I doubt it will change but his interviews are not what we need to get behind so as long as the team keeps improving generally it will be and should be, just something to laugh at or run a book on what phrases he will say the most in his next interview.
  9. TBH I have no idea, I wouldn't like to be in the situations where the same questions get asked each week as it would only lead to me repeating myself. But I thought NA was repeating himself allot before he even took over as our manager. Were only 3 weeks in and it's like the pre match interviews are scripts set out by a positivity preacher! Like I said before, it's not necisarrily a bad thing, it's great to hear someone speaking about our team so positively. It's just some of the quirky ways he says things that seem to stick out for me. It sometimes sounds like he is reading it out of a book on positivness and can sound detached from real thoughts. IMO behind closed doors he might be more honest in what he says, positive yes but maybe also more personal. Something he obviously avoids (and with good reason) in the interviews. As long as he connects with the team and results go our way it doesn't matter if I get how he comes across in an interview. It doesn't matter if it goes any other way either as I can do naff all about it. What's important is what's on the pitch and not a few mannerisms. Just wandered if anyone else had noticed other than just me?
  10. TBF I have always quoted the £130 Mil figure that it was believed the debt had risen too. I dont think AA has come up with the actual facts as to where the finances are or ever got to so it seems to me that the £130 mil figure is as good as any to go by. Maybe if AA came up with a half decent CVA that people would honestly agree to he wouldnt have had to massage the figures to make it look like there was £130 mil of debt? You might not want Gold and Sullivan anywhere near your club but they have done more for football clubs than any your recent lot put together. If they had an idea to come in, build you (or take over) a new stadium to get more of the blue few in to help pay off the (up to) £130 mil of debt leaving you in a stronger position with your creditors not being fleeced for as little as 20p per pound. Keeping you in the CCC and giving you a team that has a good chance of moving forwards without over spending. All for cashing in on some well needed re-development of FP. You seriously wouldnt want them anywhere near your club? I may be wrong but that sounds to me like a much better option than you have been used to in the past few years and if its something the blue few turn there noses up it may explain why they are where they are.
  11. Im sure I saw it on here by a poster that watched (claimed to watch) and not the OS. could of been his dad though so pinch of salt and all that. Was only the once too!! You would have thought there would have been more of a sign in the amount of time he has been with us.
  12. Less games in the prem season so 9 point deduction is relative to our 10 in the CCC. Dan Roan? From the BBC twittered that Liverpool might get the 9 points when before the idea was that they wouldn't. In theory they should follow on from the precedent that was set with us. Holding company that is inextricably linked to the football club and all that. My guess is the take over will go through before admin so no points at all.
  13. Before Big money in (on selling our best players) + Big money out (on buying lots of not so good players) = crap team head ing downwards Now Big money in (rich owner but not likly to see much on huge transfer fee's) + Small money out where ever possible = hopefully stability and success.
  14. Wernt the Hammers in trouble because of the financial crash in Iceland and Gold and whats his face came in to rescue them? Do you wish you had a Gold and whats his face to come in and save Pompey? Pompey being £130 mil in debt would have loved to have someone come in and re-finance the debt (which means somewhere alone the line that someone is planning to pay the debt off) but the size of the club is never going to be able to service that level of debt. And those runnig the club at the time should have been aware of it. So to run up that kind of debt by out bidding clubs who lived within there means to win a bit of silverware is in fact cheating. West ham now have £100 mil of debt but they have a plan in place and a budget to keep which in turn makes sure debt is paid off in time. They also have enough fans and revenue to ensure that the large level of debt is servicable. There wage budget may be large but its still affordable while paying off the debt they now have. At no point will they think "ahhh shaft it, lets blow the lot on over prices players and wages so we can win the fa cup and only look to pay back 20% of what we owe" Bit of a difference in the way that the 2 clubs are being or have been run me thinks.
  15. I think he is walking the walk though as the team is visably playing better and we are looking more and more like we are going to "win a game of football" Just noticed the same lines being said often enough to make me not want to bother reading so much of the pre-match stuff. I would have thought he is positive to the team and saying the right things but without the manners and reservation that he obviously has for the press. Thats a good thing and not a moan btw. I think some managers you can listen to every word and look forward to hearing what they have to say. With NA I look forward to what his team will do and have lost some interest in hearing what he has to say about it.
  16. Didn't he have a game for the reserves where he was MOM a while back? But then got injured and was out for ages again I think. 1 good performance in how ever many years is not good enough but maybe if he gets the right opertunity at the right club he will get the chance to actually earn the money he is paid to hang around?
  17. Haha brilliant. Shows the same waffle can be used anywhere and sounds just the same. Lol
  18. Thanks. My OP Wasnt intended to have a pop but the 2 points you broke it down too fit the situation perfectly. His comments are and will be well received as long as the team preform. I don't think the other will be a problem as I think he will do the business so his pre match repeats will just be a pet hate I will have forever more I guess.
  19. Haha I never heard that. That's the difference between pre match and post match though. Someone else mentioned it's difficult to keep answering the same questions in different ways. I suppose I am only noticing the pre match interviews in my OP.
  20. Yeah I agree with that. I get the feeling that he means what he says and he has enough about him IMO to follow through. Just noticed those mannerism's with him more so than with some other people. The Wenger comparison earlier shows he is not the only one and he won't be the last.
  21. OK I might not of explained it well in the opening post but think I've explained what I mean more later on and at least 1 person gets what I mean. Thanks for taking the time to read some of the thread and I think you are amazing. X
  22. Muchio LOL'age!!
  23. It's not that I don't like what he says. What he has to say in general is fantastic and very positive. I would have thought he is similar when talking to the players but without minding his manners for the camera's. When there was talk about him coming here everyone was on about how he talks in third person perspective and talked about things he kept repeating. I suppose this is just a continuation of that. We are only 3 weeks in but if he tells us we are here to win a game of football this time next year I will have a hissy fit.
  24. At least I'm not the only one. It's a silly thing to moan about but it's one of those things that bugs from time to time. There are not many that can interview like WGS though and as you say, most managers have the auto-repeat answers ready for the same old questions every week. It's good to feel confident that we have a manager that will get us playing great footy and a few repeated lines in an interview won't make that any different.
  25. For info this wasn't about having a pop. Just an observation but thanks for your input. I hope you feel better for adding something worthwhile to a thread.
