Wasnt it Norris that let them off the hook ages ago? So is he now backing the reason why so many are against the FC rule and how clubs can take the phish?

Haha. I just read my own post back and had the start of The A-Team in my head I bet the skates wished they could call on The A-Team to get them out of this pickle. Lol

Ah right, I would love to get to the stage where we only need to promote from within but even Barca buy in the occasional players to compliment their own system. We are at the very start of a system that we hope will one day produce a similar outcome. Anyone who thinks we can jump in and just use the youth straight away must have a screw loose. Lol I still think the type of players we do look to bring in will be very important though. They will have a job to do on the pitch but a huge role will be to help the club build the system and encourage the youth. Micheal Owen for example would be good on some levels as he could do a job occasionally on the pitch but pass on so much to the youth coming through, Defoe would expect to be in the starting line up week in week out and I can't see him being happy to move over to allow youth to come through. Both IMO would be a long way outside the pay structure we would want in the first few seasons so I don't think they are who we would be after but what they can bring to the table is what the club will be looking for IMO.
-
The target for those 4 this season has to be cup games and the occasional sub appearance. I doubt they will be expecting to jump into the starting line-up any time soon. It does at least provide a bridge from youth setup into the 1st team that seems to be missing from so many sqauds. I wonder how many of our youth will be getting loaned out from now on? The loan system seems to be the default model most clubs use for their youth. Will we continue to use that or do we think a new model will do the same job?

I think our transfer policy will always take into consideration what we have in our academy. The talk of signing Defoe doesn't fit into what I think the club is trying to achieve. Sure we need signings now to Dd to the squad and give it the best chance of staying up. But if there is no route from the academy into the first team then what's the point of trying to attract the best youngsters? So if we sign people like Defoe IMO it will shut the door to some of the youth at our club. Our biggest problem is signing better than what we have that's good enough to keep us up while also being a realistic target for our youth to try and dislodge. If that level from bottom to top keeps increasing then eventually we may get to the level that barca can produce. It's a long way off though and is probably a level that we can only dream of. Nice target to have though.

So chainrai has put a bid in, with Birch tell all what that bid entails at all? Will Chainrai keep hold of his secured status meaning that when he sells to another mug he will still have a hold or have the league prized that away from him? Anyone got a guess on the next comedy installment?

Thing is, champions league and prem titles may well honestly be some of cortese's targets but as soon as any of us dare to mention them in the same breath as our club there are many people quick to jump on their case and shoot them down as ridiculess and deluded. Personally I think these targets are achievable even on a measured approach living within our means, but only if a mountain of targets and possible scenarios go our way between now and the next 10 to 15 years. I can't see it happening before then and if things go our way there is still only a slim chance that it may happen after. There is still no problem with setting those levels as targets. But to tie those targets in with the current 5 year plan is daft. As someone else said earlier, as each year goes by the 5 year plan is re-written to take into account the previous years success and/or failures and the new 5th year. If our aim is to always progress forwards then one day top level football maybe achieved and I doubt any of us would say no to that.
-
What is this argument all about? Going round in circles with possible figures that mean nothing is a bit pointless isn't it? For what it's worth I think if the 5 year plan is being re-written then the first 2 or 3 years of it will be all about staying out of the bottom 3 and if that is successful the remaining years will be about small progression. Talk of CL or prem titles is all well and good for an ultimate target but it's not going to happen anytime soon. IF we can produce world class tallest via the acadamy and IF we can keep hold of them then POSSIBLY we can look towards working our way up to challenge for some decent honours. To be up against clubs that can blow £600 million in a few years means achieving that kind of success is almost impossible. Financial fair play rules may end up levelling the playing field a little but not allot IMO. So 5 years aims are to be a stable Prem club IMO and possible titles, cups and CL apearences might not get discussed seriously until we succeed in 5 year plan versions 2, 3, 4 and 5.

I think thats down to HMRC's new approach. Agressivly voting against a cva in the past has got them no-where. Investigation via Liquidation of old company could return them with money or someone to blame and string up. If creditors vote against the liquidation then HMRC will vote against the CVA. All comes down to how much power they have over that decission I guess?

I tried to get into it and it looked pretty good. Unfortunately I couldnt understand most of the people on it as they had such strong accents or mumbled continuasly it was impossible to understand. So I wastched the 1st 2 and then lost interest as I wasnt sure what was meant to be going on.

I thought Crouch played some of his best football with us. IT took a while for the team to treat him more like a 6 foot striker and play the ball into feet but once that happened he was bloody brilliant for us. Liverpool used him as a hoof target and he went back to looking average for long times again IMO.

Wonder how much it costs to "buy" a table at the awards? When we don't appear to have money problems and we buy 1 table yet they buy 2 in their situation? The community club thing is laughable too. They have relied upon the community to bail them out of complete miss management and over spending twice in recent history and get an award for it! The community deserve an award for falling for it so often!

Maybe but AA was ignoring the fact that the club was pretty much trading insolvently and just shifting the goal posts so his master could keep collecting. TB has taken the clubs books and is looking for a realistic way out. If he is able to move the goal posts on the CVA1 but it wont make a jot of difference to the club being any more solvent then why bother moving them? Plus HMRC wanted him there presumabley because he would act profesionally and deal with the clubs issues correctly. Big picture n all that maybe its more cost effective to let the CVA fail without moving the goal posts and shut up shop?
-
With AA in control he was happy to shift dates around to suit, stuffing the creditors when ever he liked. TB however might see a time scale as a more serious thing and believe it is there to be honoured?

Bit late but.... Appy: "LOL Bestest ROFL Fans LMFAO Packed ASL Park PMSL"
-
haha I hadnt actually thought much about that comment till i read yours. They actually want other clubs fans to help pay for debts that they incured which gave them a sporting advantage over other clubs???? Priceless!!!
-
Still in 4th but catching up on Welbeck and Sturridge is not much further in front of him. The percentage wasnt moving up each time I voted so guessed they not counting now. Maybe ill keep going a bit longer to see if I get blocked too.

I would of thought that the rule changes would relate more to the punishment of a club that was unable to pay its footballing debts in full. Currently its a removal of the golden share and kicked out of the league. The FL dont actually want that so it will probably be an automatic relegation if the CVA agreed is anything less than 100% which would suit all parties I would guess. Clubs would think twice selling on defered payments to a club with a bad credit rating, any clubs that do get into admin would either get lucky and find a buyer that will clear all previous debts so they start fresh in the same league they finished, or be open to fans buyout with little money in a lower league and little debt to pay back. Might make a few clubs think twice about how much debt they have in their club or how they do business in the future. The current rules are supposed to do that but just favour those in football while screwing over small creditors.
-
I think there were 1 or 2 players that didnt get paid for a while but dont think that was their choice or with their acceptance. Didnt Euell not get paid for quiet a while?
-
Well I still read it as defering 25% which means the likes of Kiston and Lawrence put the club first and agreed that they can survive on just £15k a week while the club try's to save its self. Im not sure how they can cope on so little!
-
Was going to say the same, I thought it read that only 25% was defered and it made me giggle that they made a song and dance about it?
-
It doesnt look likley that we can get him to number one but just looking at some of the people he is ahead of brings a smile to my face.

Just got it up another .02%. Used the 3 IP addys I have access to to make sure the votes are not logged to 1 per IP addy.

Wonder if that last quote will get sent to the football league when asking what the difference between exiting admin without a CVA and not honouring one is?
