  1. Ah fair enough but I think you know what I mean. Ryan, Harding and Fish, 2 of which have Championship experience (not sure about Ryan) at his disposal. To bring another in at least 1 will have to go. Assuming thats Fish I cant see the other 2 being happy about dropping to 3rd choice so its possible one of them would be off too I suppose. We also have an under 21 development team that the club want to develop ready for the 1st team. I am assuming they have a left back in there somewhere that would now be looking at even more limited options. Too many reasons suggest its not going to happen which is what I think but its interesting thinking about all the complications a move like that would do to the team if it were to happen.
  2. How many Left backs do we need? Granted I would consider him to be the 1st starter over the 3 we already have available assuming Fish is coming back to us. We always seem to have a manager that likes to overload a certain position. It seems Left back is the position of choice for our Nige. Cant see it happening though, as nice as an idea as it sounds.
  3. There are a few places in the uk that have got them. From the same family as the black widow but no-where near as dangerous. Same colours and hour glass shape thing. Can't remember what the difference is to compare them but was talking to someone at work about them the other day. I work at a zoo and they are in a few spots at the bottom of the zoo but have never made it to the top of the zoo. So dont think they spread very fast. The normal house spider you find running about in your kitchen has got more bite though.
  4. I thought they have signed one player but they have been linked with a few more. The cash flow thing seems to me like a completely mental decission from the ruskies. Fag packet maths suggests that the only way they can make money is to get back in the prem. But their last trip to the dizzy heights put them £130 mil in debt which should be proof enough that even the riches of the prem doesnt gaurentee a club can make money. In fact I am struggling to think of any football club that actually does make money these days. Our owners seem to have a plan of spending on the infrustructure so the club can produce its own tallent that will either push us to the riches or fund us via player sales. It seems like the only sensible plan to me as if we dont progress as a club then we should always have the option of selling a few players we brought up to stablise the bank ballence. How would Chelsea, Man city and Liverpool ever break even? So a club the size of Pompey with so little infrustructure at pressent seems like the worst business venture on the plannet right now. Plenty of money needs to go out and no real sign of plenty of mone to come in. Would lord sugar ever invest in such a project?
  5. I think my views on Degree's would insult the people who are actually doing one that is worth while or some of them that take a tremendous amount of work to get it but IMO more and more of them are becoming nothing more than an extra 4 or so years of not having to get a job. They should be available to anyone that has the ability to take them on rather than can afford to take them on but they should open up doors to the more exclusive jobs. A degree in Law (no idea what degree is needed so speaking generally) for instance is huge and should provide a path to some serious jobs that warrent higher qualification. Someone who wants 4 years of partys and grants is not going to choose this path as it would be too much effort and 4 weeks would be a tough target to stay on board. If someone wants a degree in fasion or Surfing then it should be earnt by way of actually having a job in that subject and not in a Uni. Its like Apretaships have been replaced by course studies and Uni degree's where too many take advantage of not having to get jobs. I know quite a few people that got degree's in various subjects and blatently admitted it was better than getting a job at the time. Once they got out in the real world they went on to do absolutly naff all to do with their degree. I actually know one guy the same age as me who went off to get a degree in computer science where as I got a job in a computer shop fixing real computers. Years later we worked at a company doing the same job supporting a massive site. I had to teach him how to do the job that he got based on his degree. I got the job based on experience. I could do the job and he could not. I think if more focus is put on what people need for various jobs then a better focus can be put on degree's that mean more to everyone. I know its a huge argument and sounds worse when generalised but so much value has been lost due to the direction higher education has gone, I think it needs a massive overhaul to get it back to where it should be.
  6. haha good point. Im sure there are plenty of "Degree's" that I would struggle to see the point of or understand why it would be worth spending 4 years or so working on them. The whole degree system IMO needs to be sorted as having a degree should mean allot more than it does to me.
  7. I asume its what the surfers call their degree when they explain why they are not at the beach
  8. How many of those have a degree in Surfing? Or spiritul arts or what ever?
  9. Its slowed down but it has slowed down in the past only to re-ignite just when we thought it was all over. Money must be coming in to buy players but so far it seems the club are mainly being linked with players left right and centre rather than signing players left right and centre. It could be a bit of a bluff to keep the few happy or it could be genuine. They must have a business plan that considers all the implications that could go wrong, like the court cases, CVA, TBH wages, Lack of squad and the ground needing a refit. There is also Gaydamak to consider, is he out of the picture now or does he still own the land where the offices and so on are? Until all the questions have been answered this thread will go on as I think when each question has to be answered it will stir up a new hornets nest and the fun will continue. In the mean time I do kind of hope they manage to bring in a whole squad and think they are competitive this coming season. Then if we manage to smash them home and away it will make the victory so much sweeter. Think we have some work to do building a team that can manage that mind but the thought is nice.
  10. Defo a reporting ban on this case. I asked BBC Matt if he knew if the case was closed and all he said was it was news to him but if there was anything to report he wouldn't be allowed to anyway. Not sure if reporting on it can resume when this case is over or when a connected case later is over and done with. Just have to wait and see
  11. Hold on, While that one post may have got infracted and tipped him over the edge it wouldnt be the sole reason for getting banned. There would have been several other infracted posts that add up to a ban and as has already been explained it wasnt the 1st time he has been banned. So its a collection of ban's and infractions that have led to this. Highly debatable if any of the infracted posts were actualy worth an infraction in the first place though and if the post you mention was infracted and the others for similar reasons then someone has been far too trigger happy.

  13. As the dragons would say! I'm Out! Although I think the Deppo ban is absolutley mental, based on believing he has been banned for posting pretty funny remarks and has probably been reported to death for no other reason than a sense of humour bi-pass. I doubt many will leave here in droves unless there is somewhere as good or better to go. Most of the places to go I imagine to have all the people that have been banned and were in fact knobs so in one way I would rather stay here. I still think reasons should be made public as to why people get banned. Deppo could of sent racist PM's or completely abused the rules and may actually deserve to be banned. If the reasons for his ban were more public and were just, how many would be campaigning to bring him back? If the reasons are laughable however the admins would look pretty silly and its for this reason that I think the transparency would never happen. Hidden behind the rules that keep reason locked away. Sensible thing to do would be for the mods to have a think tank and review the rules to allow for some discression or some transparency. If Deppo's infractions came by being reported then the mods will know who did the reporting. If all were from the same person then his banning was the result of a personal attack and doesnt seem very fair at all. Worth looking into I think.
  14. LOL!!!! Its the way they tell them!!!!!
  15. I wasnt talking about your club to be fair. I was on about your owners who seem to have a dodgy story attached to most things they are doing. I have no doubt that your lot will ultimatly be OK. It might take another set of owners to get there mind but all the thame you will be all rite
  16. Didn't they get another company to do the business to take over Saab and then go and take over that company? The Saab owners originally said no cause if them ruskies so sold to someone else. Only for those ruskies to end up owners of Saab anyway! They seem to be involved in taking over allot but generally there is a story behind it that raises more questions than answers. They could be genuine and all will turn out rosy for them. To me it looks more like a giant house of cards in a hurricane and there is more chance of it all falling down than surviving. Only time will tell
  17. There is no room for sarcasm on these boards! Ask Deppo!
  18. Has Deppo not been resurected yet? Considering some of the guff that some people have said on saintsweb and are still here I think its mental that Deppo gets banned for adding humour to the site. The forum wont shrivle up and dissapear because Deppo is gone but its lost some value all the same. I quite like reading how suicidle Alps get and how pedanticly annoying MLT can get and how Argumentative Hypo can be and also how amusing Deppo is. I even like reading Mack Rill's take on all things Pompey. I might not like everything everyone has to say but never hit the report button. I would save that for anyone that planned a terorist act or a peado. Pretty much anything less is not worth reporting.
  19. Lol I don't think he is in a right state of mind. Pompey is the place that has been's go to for a final whacky payday these days. He seems to be under the impression that because pompey are happy to pay silly wages that there will be someone else willing to make the same mistakes. Pompey have rules of their own and I dont think there is another club like it. So I doubt he will be goin anywhere for some time!
  20. Lol unless they are a lightening conductor in which case it will just keep striking!
  21. On that point: Im sure when we got taken over there was mass relieff from all saints fans but there was also plenty of questions and some aggression towards them when answered were needed. mainly due to the previous god knows how many years of knowing sweet FA and the feeling of betrayal from previous idiots that ran our club into the ground. The blue few have had their fair share of idiots trying their best to make a few quid whilst running the club into the ground. Not many of the few actually seem to give a toss though and seem quite happy to bend over and take another dose from the latest owners. You would have thought that previous history would have tought them to maybe ask a few more questions to make sure that those in charge are actually there for the good of the club and not the latest in the line of cowboys.
  22. I think thats what Lowe did a while back. I remember there being some write up somewhere about it. But it was a long time ago so cant be 100% sure. Like others have said though, Crouch signed up to the Umbro deal a few years back (we used to make our own shirts) which means we get a new shirt every year. I think the 125 year thing makes it seem a little easier to swallow as that covers 3 years of changes. If we get promoted again this coming season then another year can be dressed up to be more acceptable again which will keep the sales figure high. A couple of years surviving in the prem with no real motive for a new shirt would IMO see the sales figures drop as more people stick with their more favoured shirts.
  23. Bet they loved seeing how the letter is branded with Saints colours at the bottom. lol It talks about all the comunication thats gone on with its supporters over the last 12 months yet nothing seems to have been answered in the last 12 months. Just sounds like BS to keep the few happy while they try to figure out what the hell they are going to do next.
  24. So he didnt actually say it then...... New kit this years gets rid of the one off kit that we planned to have for just the one season. Dare I say if we win back to back promotions there may even be a new kit next year to mark our return to the prem but I doubt we will be getting a new kit every year from then on.
  25. Where was that said?
