Just edited my post above to include the players in order on the OS. If it was a 442 and keeper was named 1st the line up would be as above. lol
-
the OS version is confusing. For just a second I thought BWP was being played as a CB!!!!!!!!!!! -------------KD-------------- Perry--BWP--Wooton--Surman DM----Lallana---Gillett----Cork ---------Pekhart--Mills-------- How would that be for total football???? I mean I know they are all meant to be able to play anywherer in the ideal dutch way but a manager would have to be mental to start with a team like that. lol
-
Yeah I have seen that on the OS but was just commenting on the team that was posted on here.

I think DM likes to see his name in lights so tends to come inside looking for goals. When he works out that there is no-body to supply him the ball from the right he may settle for doing a job there. He has the skill to do an OK job there, just needs to do it for the team. Lallana is much better in the hole than DM but I think he is also better on the right. Personally I would send Dyer back to kiddy training for a couple of weeks where they still teach 1-2 passing then bring him back as our right winger leaving DM, Lallana and Pekhart to fight for the middle attacking options.

Looks OK on paper doesnt it? Our full backs will still be exposed though meaning KD, Killer and Perry will have an abundance of crosses to deal with though. I wonder if our tactics are to blitz teams in the 1st half and aim to go in 3 goals up so we can play keep ball in the 2nd half. We have had enough chances in most games to do it but just havnt taken them or have been shooting high and wide. I almost feel sorry for the 1st team we play against where this system clicks. lol

From the looks of the Archive he was behind Pernecky in the under 18's and as Pernecky is still here im guessing Rondos was surpless to requirments and been allowd to move on.

But signing the kds up to 4 year contracts and most of them not having agents means that if we do need to sell them we have 2 years with them still at a higher value. So it looks to me that we are going to try and keep them as long as possible while excepting that they may be needed to ballance the books at some stage. Should we do fairly well and the gates increase there will be less of a need to sell and more of a chance of our kids growing together into a better team. I dont see us as another Crew and believe that for this policy to work we need to keep hold of our best players all be it they are just kids and encorrage the best younger kids to our club to have ready replacements should any of the current kids move on. Cheepest system we have available but one that comes with allot of risks. If it works we will have a model to build on and do very well from. If not we will jut prolong going bust which it seems we were not very far away from last season.

That is pretty much what I am tying to say. Simple ball for him to run onto weather it be by him or someone else would turn there defence and cause them problems. They would either have to foul him, concede a corner or defend deeper. All of which is not what they would have been told pre game and it would put our team into the positions where we can hurt them. And all of this is from 1 player playing smart FFS. Im sure we could pick a few holes in many of the other players but for me this is the 1 area that could make a huge difference to how each game is played. Them on the back foot means less attacks which means the less Surman and James get exposed. Its a huge chain reaction that just needs someone to tell the idiot what to do to start it all off!

I think your putting too much on it being Lowe and Wildes fault. Money is tight for many people at the mo and football is an expensive hobby that is probably 1 of the 1st things to go in many familys. When you think that it has become a family day out and we are not playing against top oposition spending up to £200 for Dad, Kids and travel on a school night it is easy to see why many could be staying away. The so called plastic fans are everywhere and without them all clubs are in serious danger. Tlhere is always the die hard fans that eat live and bretah everything to do with there club but there are many that are there to see us win and be entertained. If Man U went into a relegation battle and drifted away from real chances to get into europe or even the top flight there would slowly be an increase in followers of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Man City will also gain massive support over the coming years and kids start supporting them because they have this player or that player. So without our plastic fans that give us the all important extra revenue we will be stuck having to sell off our silver to balance the books. As fans we all need to believe in what is being done and encourage as many people to fill the stadium as possible. not saying that is possible but realistically it is what needs to happen for us to regain any power. The kids are not good enough to draw the crouds back in yet and we wont have enough of the better kids left should we not generate some revenue. Big ole Catch 22

I just dont get what he is being coached???? Does he train to run with the ball at his feet? If so then surly someone has realised he cant do it that well???? With bags of pace a simple 1-2 would put him through running onto the ball at the by-line. Or being fouled off the ball which would leave there defender with a yellow card. Its not rocket science yet week in week out he runs over the ball/into players/puts the ball out/cuts inside to no-where and so on. rarly do we see him get past his man with the ball and when we do he doesnt have allot of time to do anything with it which just ends up in another chance wasted. A simple pass and timed run would turn the opo defence and create a hatfull of chances for us. If he just started doing that I would be singing his praises but instead he has got a place in the team because he has played more matches than some of the yourth and therefor is one of our experienced heads!!!

Unless money comes in from somewhere else meaning we dont need to sell anyone we dont want too. Flaw in that plan is we dont have any sugar daddys sniffing round looking to invest mega bucks so the situation is what it is and we need to accept it. Results is the only thing that will pick the attendance up and to be fair to the lads they need our support as much as possible. The system can work going forwards but as kids they have never been shy to attack and as a kid that is what football is all about. So it makes sence that the team defending will be the problem. I am more concerned about what is being done in training to teach the team to defend than what we may or may not be doing next season and I am taking things 1 game at a time. Get the defending right and we will cause many teams problems and will pull away from a relegation scrap. Forget the defending and we will be looking for others to save us on the last day.
-
Trouble is both our full backs are not great defensivly and having 2 attacking winger type players in front of them is leaving them exposed. We will always be bombarded with crosses when set up like this and as we know from last season we dont deal with crosses and corners very well at all!!! Would 3 at the back work? With Drew and James moving a bit futher forward and wooton in the middle? ---------------KD--------------- --------Cork--Perry--Killer------- James------Wooton------Surman Dyer--------Morgan-------Lallana ----------McGoldrick------------ Formation is proably not right but it might stem the flow in the midfield a bit which means less crosses. Morgan is good enough to spread the ball to DM, Dyer and Lallana anywhere up front so we would still have the attacking option and the overlap from Drew and James.
-
quietly relieved. I thought we would have got a few more things right tonight and come away with the win but the whole team need a long hard look at themselves when defending. Giving the ball away cheeply should be stampted on as that was the reason for Ipswich getting so many attacks. Cut that out and teams will have to make the most out of there fewer chances. With 4 2 2 1 formation our 2 wide men are not defensivly minded and are leaving the defence exposed. Wouldnt be so bad if we had better full backs and 2 midfielders that are as good defensivly as they are in attack. We have stregnths but not enough to play the system we are trying too. a point is better than nothing though
