  1. I can see where your coming from but feel that if we are taken over by someone of similar standing to Lowe and Co we may only get a rush of fans for a short time. We are so used to the polotics having a bigger impact at our club than what happens on the pitch that it would take a takeover backed by billions being invested in the team for us to forget the plonkers at the top. We have been stiched up so many times that any new people in charge will have a hell of a job to earn the trust and backing of the supporters. Wilde had it for a while just for getting rid of Lowe!!!! Crouch had it for appearing to be more of a fan but couldnt unite the board and shareholders while spending heavily when we all knew the money was not there to spend. We are down to the bare bones no matter who is in charge and will be until the bare bones are either good enough to move us upwards or until someone buys us or just chucks money at us. I think the current set up is good enough for a way forward for the time being but the question has to be asked, Why do they play better away? Something is not right at home and we have all mentioned it. Without the fans and the support of the local comunity its not a nice place to play our home games.
  2. I wonder where Man U would be if all there fans that dont go to matches felt there opinion was worthless when concerning the club they Support????
  3. No he hasnt and what he is doing is not what most of us like but it is within our means. Believe me if I had the money I would gladly step up and buy the club and have a go at getting us moving in the right direction as would many of us but there are not that many people with the money that want to buy us so we are kind of stuck with things.
  4. to be fair that and having better things to spend money on at the mo seems to me as its much more likly a reason than a boycott because lowe is back. i can see why they closed the blocks but I doubt they realised they would lose so many more customers because of it. a team winning and looking like it could be going places is the only thing that will convince people thats it is the best place to spend money.
  5. I think its difficult to look at the positives when everything else seems to have gone backwards. But I think that is due to a few key players being missing which worries me in the sence of relying on the few talented youngsters is fine, but when they are missing we really do have nothing left in the tank. Last year's squad although underperformed could have been replaced by a fair amount of our current 1st team when needed and done a pretty good job in the process. Now we are missing last years squad and we are playing the replacements we are banking on them staying fit for the whole season in order to hope for anything good to happen.
  6. Yeah I do....... I just didnt say how much sooner
  7. No Im not joking but you missed out the 1st bit of the sentance, but the positive things that we are doing is still much better than some of the tripe we were served last year. I didnt say there were many positive things from todays game some of the posts from those at the game today are a bit mixed. most of them say it was really bad while a few are saying we missed some of the injured players and a couple of the others need to be dropped or put in positions that suit them better. Personally i think Morgan is a must in the team as everytime he has gone off we have been half the team we are with him on. Missing him completly today was like cutting out the brain of the team that can attack and cut through the deffence of pretty much any team in this division (on occasions) I agree with what someone said previously in that playing 442 at home would suit us much more. 1 up front with the right players in the middle will work away from home as a counter attacking team but inviting the opo onto us at home is asking for disaster
  8. This time last year we had been absolutly spanked once or twice where as this year the scoreline for the qpr game IMO flatters qpr as the last 2 goals were when we were still pushing to get back level. I didnt see anything in the 1st 10 games last year that suggested we were moving in the right direction as much as i wanted to. so although the points dont show an improvment which in all honestly is where it counts, the type of play again IMO is an improvment. Right now its got more holes than a sieve and barring not being able to score today our defence (and I mean the whole team) will be our biggest weekness. Clean sheet will do us good but better teams than barnsley will just expose our weekness'. So we do need to improve for us to do OK this year but even if things stay as they are I think we will be safe sooner than we were last year which is still an improvment.
  9. kinda puts the whole boycott in perspective as if thats the way it takes us it will have damaged the club more than Lowe ever has. That is of course it is the boycott that is keeping the fans way
  10. So if they do start scoring for fun, and then the crowds do start coming back to the numbers from last season will you still be saying the boycott has had an impact? Would take a hell of a lot to find out I know but you get my point
  11. nope not at all when results are what really matter but the positive things that we are doing is still much better than some of the tripe we were served last year. if they can get enough points to make us safe and play the game the way they are trying to then it will be a big improvment on last year. dreamland would have us being the next arsenal or ajax and walk away with the league and onwards
  12. looking better but still lacking that finishing touch. DM is not a 20 goal a season man and in this system neither is John Having 7 shots on target is promising but a keeper can get a shot on target from a free kick in his own area so it doesnt mean they are all meaningfull shots. Still think that at some point we will have 1 or 2 players clicking in the same match and we will score goals for fun shhowing what can be produced. just unsure if they can learn to replroduce that week in week out and if they can produce it sooner rather than later
  13. we have had 2 pen claims denied ffs
  14. lol would be nice
  15. fairy muff
  16. getting the chances is good but unless we start taking them the team will start to try and do things differenty and we will end up playing punt football again before too long
  17. I replied to you on the other thread but i think it was sooooooooo long winded i missed half of the match thread so go have a look after the match lol.
  18. To be honest I doubt it. I was just asking the question as I think it does have a lot to do it. You said it your self that there are probably allot of factors so I dont see why people have to constantly harp on about the fact that Lowe is here. I would love to see him bought out along with the rest of them. Things did get better for us over a long period of time but in a very short space of time they have got allot worse. Show me the knight in shining armour and I will support him but until then I will hope that Lowe can keep us out of the sh1te financially until things can get better. Credit crunch, League position, lowley oposition, lowe boycot, little hope of getting anywhere fast, relying on kids that might not be ready and constant feeling of giving our money to a smug git all play there part and all make the job that much harder. We cant do anything about the credit crunch, the team has to take there chances and reach some of there potential to do something about most of the list and we should all be trying to get behind the club to help out where we can. Everyone has there own choice though and i cant believe we are having this argument on a freakin matchday ffs!!! My wish would be to have the stadium full week in week out and some rich blokey come and buy the lot up and take us places. Shame there is no way to make wishes come through.
  19. for sure more people would find the money but that just cause football fans are quite fickle. I am just providing a different argument to the "credit crunch and famin is all Lowe's fault" which is just as tedius as the lowe luvies thinking he is going to prove to be our saviour. its all just football after all
  20. I think your right in that there are many factors and no doubt some are staying away just because Lowe is back. But until he sells his shares he has never gone away. I still think many other teams will be getting lower attendances right now and they cant all be blamed on Lowe.
  21. I agree with you on this one alps. Figured a mid week match on a school night when money is tight would be lower. I know we are not againsts attractive oposition but still a sat match I would have thought it would be nearer 18,000 today.
  22. Would be nice to know how many of the people staying away are only doing so as a boycott and how many are not there due to being skint. Would also be nice to know if attendances are up or down on average right accross the football leagues. If they are all down I take it every other club is supporting our Lowe boycott?
  23. OS write up says Barnsley coming more into it
  24. balls the opo link I found needs a username and password to get in
  25. OS has an update which suggests we are having the better off it with Barnsleys 1st attack coming on 13 mins
