Jan has been going on about taking the chances we get for a few weeks now. As Lazy as John can be he does have a better record of taking his chances. Blimey, for months sensible debate has constantly drifted into slanging atches about who is in charge yet this thread started off looking for a slanging match and now we are talking football!!!!!!!!!!

those with ego's bigger than there wallets just cant resist though. Lowe has been the prime example of that in the past and it amazes me that he has kept himself out of the press since he has been back. Still dont see how wishing for something better to come along equates to being a lowe/wilde supporter but i guess ill just put my head back up mr lowe's arse with the rest of the sensible people on here.

wouldnt be surprised at all. only things that will keep any players here is if they are getting paid more for doing sod all or they like the direction the club is going. The managment team have to do allot of convincing to players and fans that we are moving forward and will need us to do a bit more than school boy defending or show signs of signing a decent defence. maybe then some of our brighter players will want to stick around till the end of the season. I am living in hope.

Is Scooby really Andrew? If so im not sure if his posts are tongue in cheek or if he actually believes his rantings Edit: Just seen the post above so not really bothered about an answer to my question now. Thought it would have been madness if the andrew was of the cowen variaty.

oh I know and I wouldnt expect him to either. But I was only agreeing on how much we miss him. Goes to show what a shower of sh1te is in the rest of the team though when we have to rely on an 18 year old french kid huh.

Didnt the cracker of a goal against QPR have morgan involved too? See to remember Kelvin roling it out to morgan who took the midfield wide and laying the ball off to lallana in space to go on and do the rest. I know Lallana gets the credit for that but Morgan compliments Lallana and many other players for that matter. The comments about Holmes seem likely to be the same too. I thik Morgan has a knack of creating the right space for the players around him to exploit, the fact that most of his passes seem to get where they are intended too helps allot.

I think some of the games we have lost he was taken off when the game was still up for grabs. until then we have been in with a decent shout. IMO he makes a huge difference to our winning or losing. I cant say he does a great deal for our defending but when going forward all good things usually go via him and there is an end product more often that when it hasnt gone through him. When we get him back in the side we will still need to score 5 to be in with a shout of winning but will have more chance of getting the 5 that without.

Not picking John might not be doing our goal scoring any good but the guy is a lazy bugger at the best of times so I can understand him not getting on the team sheet as his tracking back is appauling. Playing McGoldrick and others ahead of him considering thier form/ability is a tad more confusing though. but none of that really matters when its the defending that it letting us down the most and the players that are not getting picked are not defenders either.

Not sure about saga as he couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo last season either although his work rate is something McGoldrick can only dream about. Davies is another massive loss but he would only be warming the treatment room like many other half decent players we seem to have.

But as things stand that is still an option. Some mistakes have been made and the kids have until January to make it look like this experiment was worth while. Defending as a team has been the problem since day one and not been addressed so come january if there is not a marked improvment I guess Surman and Lallana will be gone to make way for some sort of defence to attempt to make us safe.

Im all for voting with your feet but I wouldnt suggest it be every game. Something more organised like every other home game or last home game of the month. If the general idea was to stay away on these matches the club would still get some support but when they dont it will be allot more obvious. I believe many of the stay away fans are due to the credit crunch and lack of prem football but believe many more would join in with an organised boycot if it got the point accross more. Dejected about today as others have already said the problems were there for us all to see yet we still get players in for other areas who are not even fit yet!!! no sign of gasmi or Pulis yet we secured them in the transfer window when a big oaf of a defender would have been money much better spent. Only good money spent IMO was on Morgan and Holmes both of which are sorely missed.

I get the feeling that the Denis Wise type person is the one thing we are desperatly missing. WGS had it, Pearson had it and even Hoddle had it. Im all for us playing tactically and in the mould that is trying to be achieved but the team has no backbone which someone like Wise would install. JP should be concentrating fully on the defence and if I was in charge every training session for the next 2 months would be all about the defence. Grind out a few clean sheets and get a couple of points on the board from draws and I will be happier than I am now. Didnt Graham or someone do something similar with Arsenal years ago? 1st choice defence should all be tied together for till the next game so they all learn to look after each other. Cant do much about getting a better defence in now so tripple the work our current defence has to do ffs.

it would be bloody fantastic if we can pull that off today. still wont sort out our defensive problems but it will be something to be happy about till tuesday.
