TBF the 1st half didnt give anyone anything to get excited about and after previous performances its not surprising that we all thought we were dead and burried. Defence still needs work but if we can defend by attacking and take our chances then our defence wont have as much work to do. Well done lads for a great come back and 3 points very much needed. -
Away from home Against a team that stuffed us last season Come back from 2-0 down Score in the final mins You realy think the 350 fans that bothered to go all that way are going to think about a fine to the club???
-
are people on here winding me up? are we really level now?
-
never not wanted to get to a game so much in my life lol
-
if we keep going the way we are I will be able to see saints play torquay in 2 seasons.
-
the quality of the loans suggest that there is not much money spent on them though. The type of players we need to get in to shore up our defence are probably out of our price bracket.
-
If I were putting money on it then I would go for a big loss but cant help hoping that we play without fear and fight for a miraculas come back. lol
-
so who is on the bench that might make a difference? As euell got injured does that mean we are 1 short on the bench? I guess it will be 15 mins as we were followed by all out attack for the rest of the game. we are either going to come back and win or lose by 4 or 5.

ah fair play. no comentary here so just going on previous posts.

and the disalloud goal?
-
OS say he played in the closed door friendly and wasnt happy with his own fitness so guess he has declared himself not fit. I know we need to treat him with some kid gloves and he will probably make himself work harder than anyone else can but after so many disapointments I think he might need someone above him pushing him to the finish line.
-
From the OS squad that has traveled I am going to go for -----------KD------------- Cork--Olly--Pearce--Skacel -------Gillet----Morgan---- Gobern-------------Surman ---------Euell------------- ----------McGoldrick------ Gobern could be swapped with Smith or Thomson but JP likes to blood the youth before the previous youths get settled so it wouldnt surprise me if Gobern gets the nod. No idea on the score but praying for today to be the day we finish a few more of our chances.
-
not sure who I would go for. Would be nice if the same team that started against Cov IMO as apart from some kamakazi defending I thought they did pretty well. These injurys donthelp though. -----------KD------------- James--Olly--Perry--Skacel ------Morgan--Surman---- Thomson------------Smith ---------Euell------------- ----------Robertson------- Left wing is the dodgy position for me, dont think Mills is good enough there so maybe swap him with Skacel and drop Smith.
-
I was wondering who the guy in the saints track suit was at the cov game. must have been Racine after he signed his pro deal. good luck to him and if he carrys on at the same rate he has we may see him in the 1st team this season.

So you think if we start scoring a few goals we will win matches? From where I am standing we need to score at least 3 to be in with a shout of wining. I know Stern was our top scorer but that was in a different system with different players behind him. The guy is no super man so I fail to see how he is the answer to our season. I didnt want him to go and I would like to see us mix up this system with old fashoned 4-4-2. I would also like to see us defend properly for 93 mins to give us a chance of nicking a 1-0 win. The strikers we have in the squad mixed with the attacking midfielders are capable of gettin the odd goal here and there and maybe building into a few more. but the way we defend doesnt give us much chance at all.

could have been anyone that another club showed interest in IMO. KD will be gone if someone shows the interest, as will skacel and Ewell, Surman and Lallana are on very shakey ground and BWP we can only hope for some interest Not forgetting Morgan and Gillett who have both sown enough to warrent some interest. Each offer/interst that comes in will probably be run past the bank and they will tell us if they are happy with us refusing the interest.
-
thats a fair point and I think somebody dropped a bollock on this one. I think the above players were brought in on the basis that several of the high earners would be gone. They will have been brought in on much less wages than the ones leaving which would leave us with a squad (not a great one) that could still field a mixture of kids and older kids. Problem is Skacel couldnt agree terms so is still here, there was no interest in John, Euell got injured so no interest came in for him, KD turned his phone off aparently to make sure he went no-where (thank god he did TBH) the promising kids were on a set of scales where if a silly money offer came in they would be gone but otherwise we would be trying to keep them. So the ones that came in were replacements for the ones that never left. Puts us further into the poo but I suppose all of the above could not be planned for. so its tricky on saying we should have done this or that. the fact is we got people in and couldnt get rid of others. things have to be done to right this and the banks will be the 1st to tell the club this.

Do we really need to respond to you any more? Sterns goals hardly moved us up the table last season and his goals only just saved us from going down. How is Stern also going to stop Swansea scoring 3 against us? When did "could" become 100% fact? Let me put it another way so that you may understand........ Sterns goals hardly moved us up the table last season .........AND his goals only just saved us from going down ........ How is STERN also going to stop Swansea scoring 3 against US? ..........When did COULD ...........become 100% fact?

dont go saying things like that because it doesnt fit into the fantasists theory of Lowe being the spawn of all evil.
-
He sat there and didnt say a thing. lol

1. I think the only plan they came in with was to make sure we didnt go into administration, they could see money we didnt have being spent all over the place and hearing Crouch say things that they knew not to be true. For Lowe and Wilde to join forces when they could hardly talk to each other previously must show in some respects that they dont want the club to go down the pan. If Crouch could do the same I think the 3 of them have a better chance of making the club go forward. 2. Wrong on this point. We will all lose from administration. I dont get how there would be a winner other than the bank. 3. I think you will find the Bank have a large portion of the blame as to the direction we have been heading. Available funds would have seen the likes of John and Skacel playing from the start and maybe even keeping hold of AD to bolster a very week defence. 4. It may be bad business to get rid of last seasons top scorer but if it is the banks instructions to accept any offers that increase our bank ballence or reduce our outgoings. Only reason Skacel hasnt left us is because he couldnt agree terms, Euell has been injured and there havnt been any offers for our other high earners. Any offers that have been refused will have been with the banks blessing but the current state of affairs probably means the next offer that comes in for Lallana and Co and they will be accepted. Maybe higher gate's throughout the season would have changed that but IMo its too late now. 5. I agree with the direction we seem to be heading but I said at the begining of the season that we would get many batterings mixed in with a few surprises, but on a whole I think we will manage to get enough points to stay up. Without the gates being higher though I dont hold out much hope at all for the following season. Catch 22 in that losing our better players will mean lower gates but its only the fans that can decide if they want to go along or not. 6. Some of the football has been good to watch, our movment and passing can be effective but like you say it counts for nothing if we cant defend or make the most out of our chances. If nothing else I think JP needs to be prepared to adopt the 4-4-2 formation when needed. We are no Chelsea and have no Drogba so a more English formation that the players are used to might provide the backbone for us to get a foot hold in the game. Mix it up with the 4-3-3 in periods of the game will keep the opo guessing and give the players the learning curve they desperatly need. 7. The decission made by Lowe and Wilde was done after speaking to the bank so they share part of the blame. As in anywhere if a new approach is to be tried then it has to be seen through. Right now we are out of the relegation spots with a long season ahead. Some sort of re-think is needed to make sure JP has the correct players at his disposal. Again, without the banks blessing we are looking at our current squad and no-one else I will continue to support JP as long as he is here, I will support the team that we have no matter what and I will hope that RL and co will do enough to make us worth buying so we can see the back of the lot of them.
