  1. yeah there are probably plenty of other factors but just the gates dont look very good at all. surprised the banks havnt shut us down already if those figures are even remotly like the real figures.
  2. How much does that work out we are losing then? say £30 per head x 2300 fans twice a month = 138000 per month below what we need to be to break even. ouch,
  3. I dont remember you askin that question but for what its worth I think the club is far more important to me than who is running it but whats your point? have you thought about posting on the facts rather than gossip that some choose to listen too? Dont remember asking you a question befor this either, you stated something that I agreed on based on that really big If[/b]. If the board are picking the team then its wrong blah blah blah. but it aint happening so get over it. I dont like Lowe either but making sttff upjust to have a moan and whine about is just as bad as scooby coming on and saying how bloody wonderful Lowe is.
  4. Its difficult to know how many would be needed now as many players have gone which will reduce the outgoings a fair bit and interest rates have gone down so payments could be less but we dont know how much has been borrowed since we went down which will obviously counter ballence any savings. I would probably stick at the 16,000 being enough to service our outgoings but more like 18,000 and above to try to make an attempt to get out of the whole we are in.
  5. So the rest of your posts that cant mention Lowe without some kind of tag that makes him out to be all that is evil in the world is dropping the pro/anti lowe card? Double standards mate
  6. But where does it say that Lowe picks the team? Other than rumour that hasnt had anything to back it up? If Lowe goes in and says there is not enough money in the bank account to pay Skacel his appearance money this week then JP will drop him. Deue to our financial sittuation its not the nicest things to accept but what else can we do? IF he is going in picking team and tactics in a managers capacity then I am right behind you as he is no more a football manager than i am a ballerrena. But IMO your talkin gumf as this just aint happening.
  7. Your having a laugh mate, where does it say anywhere that he is involved in crucial team selection meeings? In the business that is football the Chairman is heavily involved in the running of the club and is also often the link between the managment and the rest of the board so a weekly meeting to discuss team matters seems like a reasonable thing to do. Dicissions to restrict what players are available are purly down to the restrictions imposed on us by the bank and frankly who ever the chairman is we would not be happy about it. Lowe Having the balls to do it where others have failed may have something to do with his ego but TBH if he doesnt do it the others will watch us go into administration. If money was readily available I would still expect there to be weekly meetings but rather than restrictions the chairman would be offering more support in talking about what players are needed to be brought in. Swings and round abouts. In good times the chairman will offer support but in bad times he will tighten your noose.
  8. If WGS was here at this time when there is not enough money in the bank to avoid administration then WGS would have to put up with it or bugger off and that doesnt matter who is in our board room. fact is we are skint and only investment or fans turning up to support the club will go some way to bailing us out. Weekly meetings I imagine are something that is done at pretty much every business round the country with boss's asking and telling there employee's what and what not to do in there jobs. We are governed by cash flow at the mo so the Boss at SFC has to relay the information down to the emloyee's and they in turn work within the budgets that are imposed on them. JP and Wotte might not know the ins and outs of players contracts or appearence fee's to the player or previous clubs so in the meeting they could be telling Lowe that they need to play Skacel for the sake of the team and Lowe has to look at the cost of such decission bearing in mind the pressure from the bank the low gates and the conditions in players contracts and no offers on some of the other high earners. so its possible that Lowe has had to ba certain players playing as doing so might have tipped us over the egde. To keep the banks support the Board have to show that they are making sensible decissions based on the finacial climate rather than hit and hope tactics.
  9. But thats OK by many cause it will mean the back of Lowe. Its obvious that this season is going to be bloody hard if we keep the players we have got so if we dont get in money erom extra gate sales or some kind of investment the 2nd half of this season will be bloody impossible.
  10. Im sure the Anti Lowe brigade will claime that JP was told to say that and him being a yes man he obviously obliged.
  11. But you said it yourself, if Arsenal were to be looking for a new manager they would be looking for one that take the club forward in the same vien as it has been run in the last so many years. If someone new bought Arsenal they might have a different viewpoint and want the traditional direct english manager and it would be all change. So the board does and should have some envolvment with deciding what brand of football we should be playing but that envolvment should end when the manager has been decided. From then on the board should just manage expectations and make decissions on performance of the coaching staff. The idea that Rupes takes on more than that is no more than an idea and cant be proved but its definatly not something that should be done. if I were in charge and picking a manager I would provide a mandate of what brand of football I wish to have and look for a manager that can best fill that role and advance it. Review his progress and support him as much as possible but leave the team and tactics to him.
  12. If you were to bring in a new manager would you not tell him how you want your team to play in the interview process? Say, I want a young team that plays passing exciting football with no hoof ball. big sam replys with "my teams play direct football with a big striker and no need for the midfeild". Interview over! What I am saying is as a chairman/owner you would have an influence on how the team plays as you would be choosing who you put in charge and if they dont think in the same way as you then your business is not going to be doing what you want it too. Day to day running comunication should be kept to how you can help each other but sticking to each owns dutys.
  13. I would like him too and I am hoping that his form has been down to confidence. But he is not the only player that is guilty of not hitting the target so not completly fair to singal him out. If he gets the form he had when he was in the reserves he will be another player for sale if a takeover doesnt materialise.
  14. I quite like the experiment, I just wish we looked like we could defend like a mid table side and the ride would so much more enjoyable. Although Rasiak and Saga are miles better than DMG I cant see them doing much better in the role DMG is playing so for them to come in jan would need to play a different system. I think he has proved that that aint gona happen. lol
  15. Lowe out! or in! depends on what side of the fence you sit on. What time is it?
  16. I think the sell anyone that is wanted does have its limits. it may be a plan that is set out in a few levels. Level 1 high earners/older players = take the 1st reasonable off to get them off the books Level 2 youngsters that we plan to build the club round = only take abslutly silly offers for now while we can still reduce the wages by getting rid of the hig earner/older players. Level 3 with Level 1 complete relax rule on level 2 a bit and accept reasonable offers for youngsters that have broken into the 1st team on a regular basis. (bye bye Lallana, mills, Surman) level 4 take any offers for any player and replace them with players from the under 16's Level 5 Administration if at any point our money situation looks to be easing enough for the banks to leave the daily business to us then we may get a bit more stringent on who we let go or if we let go but the only way that will happen will be a decent run in a cup, play off positions without spending any cash or the supporters have a rush of blood to the head and sell every home game out.
  17. I know what you mean but I was trying to say that we have 2 of the 3 players that we need. Problem is they are always injured. I would love to have svensson back on form but its not happened yet and euell in the middle has proved to be effective enough with what we are trying to do. up front im not sure saga would do any better than mcgoldrick TBH as that position takes a really good striker than can play this system well. So if we get players in it will mean sheding Svensson and euell which on the basis that they cant stay fit is not a bad thing but we need players of the same class or better that are going to stay fit. the luck we have had with injurys there is nothing saying that anyone coming in wont stay out of the treatment room. JP has done a good job getting the players to pass and move pretty well and we are creating more chances than we have in a bloody long time, often creating many more chances than the opostion which is great to watch and looks very promising. I dont get however how him being a defender himself he cant get the team defending properly. it doesnt matter who is in the back 4 as the biggest problem with defending has been set peices. How many times have we cleared the ball out of our area to see it come straight back in again? I just expect him to have some pretty simple drills that he could pass on so they at least get the basics right when defending. maybe they are working on it and maybe it will just take longer to see the outcome but so far it seems this is the 1 area that makes me warey on knowing if I would want him to stay or not. if it was more like american football I would have jan as the attacking coach and bring in george graham or someone as the defensive coach to make us a team that is really hard to beat but can break into attack and cause problems from all over the place.
  18. surely if a take over materialised that is what would happen?
  19. Looking at our squad though we have Svensson who without the injurys would be the expensive experienced defender, Euell who has proved he could be the quality and experience we need in mid field, we just got rid of john who althouth a good striker didnt suit the system we play so i dont think his tally would have been as much this season as last, rasiak not sure as he hasnt had much of a chance in this system and saga has been off the boil pretty much since he signed a contract with us. All 3 are class strikers in there own right but dont suit what is trying to be done here. K Jones is the only striker of recent times that I think would have thrived on this set up and there are not too many of him around the leagues that we would get in so even with a bit of money we would struggle to fill that area in the squad should we continue with this system.
  20. and JP was a national team defender in 1 of the greatest holand teams so you would think he knows 1 or 2 things about defending that he could teacht eh kids too
  21. What was the last season where we had a continual defensive partnership? Injurys although shouldnt be used as an excuse too often have plagued us for a few years now and mainly in defence. This season hasnt been too different to the past few seasons with injurys and 2 red cards (1 stupid and 1 for the team IMO) being the main reason behind all the different partnerships. it is very frustrating to see but I dont see what can be done to put it right. I admire JP for sticking to his guns in the pursuit of getting the team to play the right way and if all falls into place then home or away we will get entertaining football with a hatfull of goals. I wish he would at least accept that a 4-4-2 is not a bad plan b to have in the locker for when we go behind against teams that are harder to break down. So if a takeover should materialise I would like to see the "experiment" continue on the basis that there would be money available in the next transfer window to shore up any areas that are still week.
  22. Yeah I very much doubt there is a limit clubs have to spend and we have spentemore than most at a guess. Shows how well it can work when it has been our bread and butter for years now. The win/win scenario would be that we become a very good young team and we start to attract the next Ronaldo's and Henry's into our youth set up. If we can install some loyalty into the kids we bring in and we become a stong team in the prem then we could demand much higher prices or afford to keep the kids we want. Have to have very rose tinted glasses on to be able to see that far in the future though. Honestly speaking I think being in the CCC will cost us too many of the promising youth year on year and it will be a hell of a struggle to try to get back in the prem. Would be very nice to become the UK's answer to Ajax though.
  23. Dont they have to have a youth set up as part of the FA rules? kinda sucks as a rule when the 1st team is made up from top class players groomed from around the world but i suppose other teams benifit from there cast offs and kids that dont make it. We have cork who I would be very surprised if he ever got into Chelsea's 1st team.
  24. Cant see him just walking away TBH and I cant see anyone wanting to buy him out either. The club is in debt on the back of Roman having so much dosh and can bail them out if needs be. No idea why someone with so much money would put the club in so much debt as opposed to paying up front though.
  25. Previous weeks I have been thinking we would just about do enough to survive but by half time today I was sure if torquay get promoted in the next 2 seasons then we would be playing them. Back to thinking we will do enough now and with a bit of luck we may surprise a few people on the way. Happy Days
