  1. Like UP says the only way for the current lot to get some support back will be if the team are doing well. Sell our best assetts in Jan and we are well and truly stuffed. If by some miracle we were near the top and in with a shout of promotion come the end of the season the corners would be open and the stadium nearly full. But the loyalty is not there with the fans anymore so 1 slip up that may put us out of contention and the gates would half over night. Thats not a dig at the fans for being unloyal, the only way to get that loyalty back would be if someone else was in charge. I cant help think that if we had someone other than the 3 pillocks but still had no money, this direction is still the right way to go. more money would mean a better blend but I think it would get enough support to keep the banks away without selling off the silver.
  2. If you can get them down to the arse hole of england I will come along for a pint. I am 1 of the few that actually likes what they are trying to do while still being on the fence of thinking that they can actually achieve what thier plan.
  3. Im not disagreeing with ya bud and I wasnt trying to be realistic in saying the 1-0 bit. I went on to say that if the defence doesnt get better we will have to be scoring 3 or 4 per game to be in with a shout of the 3 points. I think Olly will be good enough and like you say they all need 20 mins here and there and then some time off. Maybe James will come back that little bit better as he has been out of the action for the last couple of games. I know we are asking allot of the kids but I really dont think we have the luxury of getting other more experienced players in of the standard that the kids are. I dont think its there ability that lets them down. I think its there experience and decission making. I bloody hope they learn quick.
  4. 7 goals would have been enough if it was 7 x 1-0 wins at home is what im saying. we have created more chances than pretty much anyone and as long as we keep doing that then I believe the goals will come. unless the defence gets allot better we will continue to lose the games that we dont score 4 or 5 in and that is something that has to be addressed no matter what. I think Olly will come good and can do a job at this level but I dont think we should be relying on him just as much as we shouldnt be relying on killer or perry.
  5. If we had NP in charge, I think we would be in a better position than we are now. We have one of the better away records this season, but at home, one win is poor and surely it would be worth having a go at changing the formation. We have been out thought but not outplayed on most occasions at home this season and thats down to JP. Add to that, the likelyhood the gates would improve if our home performances were better. I think you will find the only person thinking getting rid of Pearson was a good idea was Scooby. Does anyone really listen to what he has had to say???? I dont think we have been out thought too often. We have had the team defend like it is sharing a braincell between them and that has cost us goals and in turn points. there have not been too many games where we were a bad team and not deserved anything from a game. Points is what counts though which is why right now things dont look very good. What was your expectation for this season? And what position would you say is a result come the end of the season? Personally I expect us to be safe and would be happy if we can get to low mid table. anything higher than that and I will be extatic.
  6. In your opinion of course like i said before. the 2 dutch people grew up with this formation and it is what they believe in home and away. there are countless managers that believe 4-4-2 is the only way to go. sturrock was a firm believer in 4-5-1 away and 4-4-2 at home. this season will be gauged on survival and but for some really poor defending the team is showing that this formation has some legs in it so I am happy for it to continue. sure there are plenty of managers that could maybe do a better job than JP with the same formation and everything. there will be plenty more than can do a better job in the good old fasioned english way. thing is, once the decission was made to make the full use out of the acadamy our options on a coach that would work within the guidlines was very limited.
  7. read his post again. he didnt say people making stuff up about lowe. people who dont like lowe are making stuff up i think you will find is what he said.
  8. Ive not counted the games he was in charge for so 16, 15, 12 what ever it was it was a handful of games of which in the end he just about did enough to save us that season. he was what we needed as we saw the team make an improvment on what we had seen the rest of the season. agree with the defence being a problem as it was last year, he did something about it then so i have no treason to believe he wouldnt do anything about it now. only bringing in Pearce seems a bit week when we are known for leaking goals for the pastn few seasons. we will never know the facsts on the wages but i think it was stated somewhe re that makes it more official that both JO and woote were brought in for the same cost as Pearson. that could be complete arse but it doesnt sound too far off. look at pearsons cv compared to JP's and that in its self should show you there will be a difference in sallary's. Arsen has been playing the youth system for years and in a way we are trying to emulate it without the superstars in the 1st team. thats about the only compatison i think we can have with a team pushing for the title every year and us ga team that is hoping to still be inm business next year. lol
  9. There are many managers that have grown up with 4-4-2 as the standard and wont stray from it at all. JP has grown up with a different formation and believes in it. Its showing signs of working for us so why not give it some more time? Its our defending that is letting us down as we are still scoring the odd goal here and there. Chelsea showed that winning 1-0 every game is still good enough to be top of the league. so if we can become hard to beat then we should be in a position where we can get the results we need. IMO
  10. was it not pretty much the same team that got us within 1 game of promotion the season before too?
  11. I dont always agree with you OB but this is spot on
  12. Im not trying to throw blame around for what loans we have or have not got but I think there is about 50% of them have had some success and the rest havnt really made it near enough the 1st team to make a difference. But then should we be playing loans that we wont keep hold of ahead of our own players if the job they do will be similar? What your saying about the negotiations is right, I was just talkng hypothetically to try and figure out what the current board would have to do to start to turn the fans opinions. I dont think they will ever get majority support but they could do with making a few decissions that the fans either understand or semi support.
  13. Couldnt agree more with that. Also thinking about the direction that the board has decided to take us in I dont think there are any managers from the usual suspects that would fit into this way of thinking so going dutch was the only way forward. In many ways I would have liked us to have gone this route when we could afford to keep the better experience and also better managment as doing it all now just all seems a bit gun ho and rushed. Just think if we went this route after WGS left! We could have had a much better management team or a much better group of players for the management team to use. our kids that had so much money spent on in the acadamy would have had a route into the 1st team and we would have had an even better chance of attracting the best youth from around the country. Year on year done the right way we would have got stronger IMO. All if's but's and maybe's though.
  14. Its firmly believed that as we dont have much dosh just about anyone is up for sale come jan until the banks are happy. But the rumours are usualy started for a reason either by wind ups or agents and usually end up in becoming true even if they were total balls when 1st started. What if though, the club got rid of those that are already out on loan, ditched thomas and also some of the loans we have that are doing nothing and that all saved us enough to keep the banks happy? If the club then knocked back any offers for morgan, drew, lallana anyone that we want to keep. Would the fans attitude change slightly on Lowe flogging anyone? Just a question.
  15. cheers for that. I dont know who exactly you get your info from but think i have an idea. It wont stop the rumours being spread but it should at least put them into context a little.
  16. You have a good point actually. If they can get some money for Rasiak, Stern and Saga (I think they are all still on loan right?) but if they dont get as much as the banks are requesting then they should all dip into there own pockets to cover the difference. Its no good building a young team for the future if they flog the kids off before they get the team anywhere. I wonder if the Shareholders sticking some of there own cash in would encourage some of the stay aways to come back and give some of there much needed support?
  17. 4-4-2 is not going to happen while we have JP and people need to get used to that. The whole playing club from top to bottom is playing the same 4-2-3-1 system so that they can get players that automatically fit into the system. The club have only been doing it for a matter of months so if there are going to be benifits from it, we may not be seeing them fully yet. As for the 2 players going I would be more upset about losing Surman than lallana. For a team that is so short of quality players Surman can do a CCC standard job in many positions and would be a great loss. lallana hasnt been all that effective in the hole and I think he would be doing better on the right. Euell has been much better in the hole, we just need to find away to keep him on the pitch.
  18. I've corrected for you.
  19. Im feeling confident on this one. Not sure why but after the way we played against wolves i think we might carry on the good work and get the result that matches some of the effort. For me Morgan is the king pin in our team. His range of passing brings the player in the hole into the game as well as switching play from flank to flank. The opo's defence dont know if they should drop deep or push up cause his decissions to go for the long or short pass is often the best in our team. If we can get the 1st goal I think we are in for a shout at the 3 points but we will stuff up the good 3 points away by giving 3 points to plym in the next home game.
  20. when he was at his best that was all bread and butter to him, when he came back at 1st it seemed he hadnt lost that ability but like you said, that last game he played for us it looked like he had no spring and was no-where near full speed.
  21. I know this forum is nothing compared to the full actual fanbase but I do think there is a fair reflection of the fan base on here. I very much doubt something being said in only here will ever change how the fanbase/club feel but if we ignore the extreme posters from both ends of the scale the average person on here is thinking pretty much the same as the people that can be arsed to go to every game. if you were sat next to a supposed fan at the wolves game and they were cheering wolves on and being generally very happy at the situation we were in would your reaction be any different? Living this far away and generally being skint I dont get to many games at SMS and my only away games are if they are being played in the arse hole of england. So my match day experience is mainly via raido, tv and internet so the negative people (i think they are skates on a wind up mainly but thats my opinion) that come on here to cause trouble do get on my t1ts sometimes. not to the point of getting abusive but they are having an effect all the same.
  22. Sounds good. I dont think anyone doubts killers commitment but his fitness and match sharpness are things that will be very very difficult for him to get back.
  23. I agree on pretty much all of that. Not sure about being any higher up the table though and very much doubt we would have the same team. the cost of pearson has got us JP and Wotte if what we are led to believe is correct so there would be added cost in keeping pearsons 2nd in command and backroom staff. this cost would have to come from somewhere and if cost is what kept John and Skacel out of the team then we could also have seen Davis and Euell out of the squad too. Its impossible to say what would happen or could have happend but Im with you in thinking that Pearson deserved a chance and if cost wasnt the deciding factor then I think we have missed out.
  24. you sure about that? I dont think there were many that didnt think he was a decent guy, or after giving him a chance there were not many that didnt think he was doing better than GB. But he was pretty much slated by most fans and pundits when he was unveiled as our new boss. He deserved a chance IMO and did well to save us so late on but his CV and a few changed opinions doesnt turn him into the next england manager.
  25. That is of course your opinion. My opinion is that Jan will not necisarrily lead us to success but he will lead us to safty if we can keep the team together past January. Although I dont like everything about our club right now I do like the direction the team is at least trying to go.
