  1. I can understand the difficulties in paying the small creditors as it does create a situation where people would rather 2.5k than 20p in the £ of 2.6k. So sorting out who gets what must be tricky. Arguing over who should pay it makes the club look like absolute tools though. Maybe there are no rules in place to stop this kind of sweetner from being offered in the 1st place. Seems to me like it's nothing more than a feel good factor offer for the owners to try and get votes needed but opens up so many problems the authorities could do with making it illegal in the future.
  2. Agree with this, The 1st team is settled and winning and is being pushed hard by the players not getting into the 1st team. De ridder looks good and will get his chance but Adkins is blending him in gently. The same will happen to the new number 5 who ever that ends up being. Leicester on paper look good but chucking everyone in and expecting them to do well doesn't work out very often. I am much happier with the way we seem to be doing things.
  3. can someone not do a print screen capture of either moment when the ball hit the green thingy or the cross bar?
  4. Steady on old bean, in the absense of Muchio LOL'age coming from the Blue few Corpy decided to point out a few erm errors in our points of differences between the clubs. Who are we to not at least correct or answer his statements? The court cases will finish at some point which will see normal service resume on here as hopefully the proof of the cheating will come out and everyone will see their club for what it is. Once out in the open they might actually start trying to behave correctly and become a respected club. Wouldnt that be amazing???
  5. Although only redcrapp making the point he at least did it while he was still with scunny. His stock must be raising as his success continues and if he manages to take us into the prem it will raise further. Who would of thought that we may get to the stage where we could be worrying about losing our Physio to the prem or even England? lol I know its a long long way off but 6 months ago I wouldnt of even contemplated it. Now I actually think it could be a possability!
  6. And that is with a season of boycotts and unrest amongst the fans and board room. If only we could be more like the Best Fans in the World ™ or what ever it is. lol
  7. Well done Nige. Could he be a future England manager? I know its far to early to think about now but if his success continues and we get to the prem and do well with him I think his name will be banded about as a possiblity. Long way to go of course.
  8. If your comparing our season that we got taken over with the same season you last got taken over then your on a losing battle. Yes our owner spunked loads of cash on new players because we had a team made up of loans and youth due to the attempt to live within our small means at the time. You are in almost a similar position in that your club spent it's (cough) available cash on a small squad and loans and your new owners have to spend cash to build up your ranks. So year 1 of a take over by rich owners and both owners have to spend. Unless your denying being in the top 4 big spenders of the championship this year? As for one of the most expensive squads in the championship I think that statement is fairly accurate. TBH alone takes a big share of the wages and you haven't shed many of the high earners from the season before so while your squad is small it's still fairly pricey and IMO up there with the most expensive in the championship. I didn't say your squad was world beaters or ready to walk the league but the money that's been spent on transfers and wages, that puts your club amongst the big spenders of the league and still no-where near a promotion push has got to be worrying yet the fewer don't seem to be questioning things too much so it must be ok right? The gates fluctuated throughout the season based on a number of factors. Lowe in or out, Wilde in or out, Paul Allen's dingy in the Solent and despite everything the will for the team to survive. You have picked up on one of the most unstable seasons of our history where many changes throughout the season effected gates and feeling. The boycotts (as documented in the press) were mainly to get rid if Lowe, once gone the boycotter's returned only to go again when Lowe and Wilde came to save the day. It's pretty difficult to seriously compare the 2 clubs cause one of them is a sh*t pit and saints is a well run club so we will probably never agree. It is head scratching seeing how hard you try to defend the indefendable at times. Re-wrighting history where it suits trying to make it fit with your views. There are a few of the blue few on here that show their support for their club in a way that draws respect from even us. No BS or history changing. Just a bit of banter as it should be.
  9. I think Fish is activly looking for a new club but it wouldnt surprise me if Dickson is looking too. I would of thought Fox will become the starter so Harding will be the one pushing him along. Doubt Dickson will be happy that far behind the 1st team for that long. Strange that Harding only agreed an extention early summer and already has extended it though. Work of agents pushing for their players to keep up with other players in the squad or something the club has pushed through? If Morgan cant get a 1st team starting position I doubt he will be looking to sign a new contract though. But how is he going to get in ahead of Cork and Captian Hamond?
  10. So just last week he get rejected for SAAB? Or is this an old news thing thats been re-hashed?
  11. As they say in Cricket "OWEZATT!"
  12. My post allowed for documented protest from either club. Look back at the season you mention and see how much protest there was. It was hitting local press and sky sports news and was all over the message boards. Your team is currently under new ownership, something like currently the 4th biggest spenders in the championship with one of the highest paid squads in the championship and there doesn't seem to be any large protest or boycott going on to back up your claim of reasons to stay away. To me it looks like you have a large share of plastic fans (every club has them) that follow your club and they will only show up when your team are doing exceptionally well with not much care or thought as to how success is reached. It's this attitude from many of the blue few that the better half of Hampshire sit high and pretty on the moral grounds of highness.
  13. I think the punishments should be harsh for those involved but there have been many that seem to have got slapped wrists for actually breaking in an nicking stuff while some idiots mouthed off on the Internet and got much stronger punishments. Think some kind of guidelines should of been rolled out across the uk for courts to treat each case the same as it would be treated elsewhere. The worst of it was a bunch of scroat's taking advantage of a situation cause they think it's clever and because it's less hard work than actually getting a job and earning their way. Harsh punishments and less of a benefit society might make people think working for a living is the easy way out and be more inclined to do it.
  14. Wasn't that the season where many saints fans were boycotting home match days due to the mixed bag of crap board members? I think you will find that on several occasions there were a number of people stood outside the ground in protest. When we are not happy with the club or how it's being run we make a point. I have not seen many reports of the stay away fans making a point to the club at their disgust of how your club is being run. In fact if their was a public knowledge of people staying away until small creditors and charities are paid in full you might get a bit more support on here.
  15. I bet that game can't come quick enough for their owners. It must be their only A game and the best chance if a full house. Plus they won't have to depend on their own lot to fill the arena as we will be bringing a full allocation of away fans along.
  16. In shock! Well happy! Nuff said!
  17. I think I tried something similar last year. I picked my captain as one player in a team playing Friday night then changed the captain to another player playing on sat and again on Sunday. Points were awarded for the Friday nights captain and that was it. So changes are set for the week basically. Get your team set for Friday and change it after Tuesday. If your in a league with subs included they automatically change when scores update but only if a 1st teamer is out injured. So if you picked a keeper that didn't play the score update will swap him for your sub keeper. If both keepers played and your sub keeper did better then tough.
  18. So with benjani signing they should at least be able to fill their bench for league matches. Less of the poor old us routine?? Doubt it! Clotteril though they should of got a result. Was that with Pompey shades on or were they unlucky?
  19. Kind of agree with this. Was a red card for sure so no complaints. Agree that our team does need a bit of steel in it too though. Don't think it needs to be with the studs though. Chappers could of taken the ball then left his leg up so his body crashed into the player and no action would of been taken. Making the point of the strong part of our game would of been made. Don't want to see a nasty side of our game at all so hopefully the red will teach a quick lesson and I hope NA will also make the point behind closed doors.
  20. I heard that ML loaned the club the funds needed to buy it and clear debts, I'm guessing enough was loaned to the club to finance a push to get promoted back to the Prem unless ML's family have continued to finance the loans needed. What we will never know is if ML ever intended to expect payment on the loan or if his plan was to write it off at some point. We are not in debt with any proper finance company or mortgage though and while under the Lebheir's ownership I doubt we ever will be. I guess the next published accounts will tell us more though?
  21. I'm not sure about everyone else but I don't think I have ever gone to watch a footy match to see a full subs bench. Can only have 3 subs in a normal match so the starting 11 is what your paying for isn't it?
  22. But it's ok to consolidate in the Prem though right? It's what all teams outside the top 4 do isn't it? I think it's pretty obvious NC doesn't want to hang about in the championship. I think Adkins will get a little more rope than pardew did though. All will depend on how we do this season. If we go long spells looking like we haven't got a clue and fail to reach the play offs then he will be toast. But if we keep progressing and only miss out as there are better teams above us then he may give him another shot. What will happen next season though? Say we somehow manage promotion this season, what's the target then? Sell up for big profit or go on to try and achieve something special? Times are getting exciting IMO
  23. While he may well be a good player I would of thought the fans of a champions league hopeful team would not be too impressed when their club is not chasing champions league quality players. Scot Parker looked amazing in a team managed by avram grant! Do you think he would have been as noticeable if he played for man u? I know is its not easy but put yourself in the arsenal fans position. Man city, Barcelona, man u and so on are buying players that are known quality and will help them into the top 4 spots. Arsenal have bought a 17 year old league 1 winger and a relegated defender and are on the verge of losing 2 of their best players. Happy or not so happy?
  24. TBF I prefered it in English.
  25. I think Arsenal fans will be even more un-happy as the more tranfer rumours come out for them. Dann from birmingham is the next one. Their fans will be jumping for joy at the thought of bringing a defender in from a relegated team. Add the loss of Fabregas and Nasri I can imagine their fans questioning the future of the club they fork out a small fortune to watch. So with nearly £60m in the bank from the 2 leaving who would they be turning to to boost their ranks? League 1 17 year old winger and a relegated defender. Nice.
