Not me, I would still rather we win no matter who is in charge or on the feild in red and white. Im not saying I think JP deserves to keep his job or that Lowe has done any good since he came back but for purly financial reasons I can see why they are both still here. Any money in the tin and they would both be gone IMO. Times are bad and horrible decissions have to be made so all the shareholders put forward the fall guy to take the flack. Any sign of better times and they will all turn on him and try to take any credit. Sooner the lot of them are gone the better but I still would rather it be done via a take over than the risks in administration.

Blimey there are 2 of us down here. Saints fans are a dieing breed so to have 2 in torbay has to be 1 of this seasons plus'

Feck me you can count me in on any demo for any reason if thats the outcome.

TBF as much as McGoldrick has been usless with the amount of chances that have been presented to him he is also our top scorer. Saga hasnt been prolific in front of goal since we signed him on a perminent contract but many believe he is our answer???? So out of all our strikers it seems reasonable to play the only one that has actually been scoring ahead of the ones that havent. Personally due to his attitude in many games he would have watched many more games from the stands had I been in charge while Euell would have had a chance up front but im not in charge and we will continue to struggle until a better alternative comes along. Dont see the point in waricks rant though when a simple opinion would have done the trick.

and i thought that Holmes was a rupes signing and JP didnt have much to do with it. I wonder how much JP had to do with the other signings?

just reading that post from NickG its back to looking like its highly unlikly again. Shame though cause I think he would get a run with us and do quite well where as saga (as much as i like him) hasnt had an effect with us for quite some time. I almost wish we could scrap the lot and start again. but we cant afford to just offload the likes of saga, euell and skacel but having them all with us is restricting what we can do elsewhere.
-
I think before White got injured you might have been right but in any case for saga to move again it would mean he would have played for 3 clubs this season. isnt there some ruling against that happening? They were probably looking to loan white out again and get in lupoli to make sure we still have a choice of strikers but now i cant see any of our strikers leaving without some dosh coming in.

I was there for that game and was P1ssed off that he had the cheak to smile as he was about to sit down. Like he heard the chant and the applause for taking him off and thought it was funny. If he hadnt improved dramatically after that game I would have been banging on about him every week. I agree about the leaked info and I wouldnt be happy if my details were published. He probably has the rest of the team asking for his agents number so they can get good money for little effort at there next club.

I was going to say that your mathes was obviously not your strongest point as to have missed 20 golden chances and should have won 4-0 doesnt add up. by all accounts I do agree with you that we had the luck on our side for that game but there are more than half the games this season where we have played much better and got nothing that we deserved. There have been many games where we have out-shot the opposition with shots on target and purly down to the oppo's keeper having a blinder we have failed to bag the goals to earn us the much needed points. There was a time when I thought that all we needed was for our luck to change and we would push up the table and JP would have got my vote, but latly it seems the confidence has gone in the team and I dont have much confidence in JP to regain that in the team. So as someone else said I would also be happy to have someone like Dowie on board to help guide the team back to a stronger position. I think JP has a lot to offer but I just think the job is too big for him with us -
You say Lowe is very smart in this direction but as a club we have in the past collected players while releasing very few and as such created a larger wage bill to hang round our necks. Not saying this is the case now but I think the club relied on a few sales last window that didnt happen and loaded up with lesser replacements. Only by luck that the sales didnt happen and we are now able to rely on some players that otherwise wouldnt even be here.

is lowe waiting for the transfer window to close...

TBF I doubt there are many clubs that look at the bottom of the table rather than the top. If this season's OS rubbish had started with "Relegation fight starts here!" headlines we would have all had puppies and slated the OS for being defeatest and blamed Lowe for not having any ambition. I think it was JP that was quoted as saying we are aiming for the playoffs though but for the same reason as above I am happier that he is at least aiming to be in the top half of the league. As for the OP I cant see Rupes deliberatly waiting until after the transfer window to get a replacement in. If his plan is to replace him and he was going to do it before the window then he would simply tell anyone new coming in that there is no money to spend in the window so you will have to work with what there is. Holding on for a few weeks to save him having to dish out some bad news is not in his nature. -
was it his attitude that helped him pack his bags with us before? I wonder if his tour round his many clubs have gone some way to sorting that out? If Palace have released him I am guessing it hasnt and im not sure we have the right people at our club to put him in his place so I cant see him resurecting his career back with us some how. Shame though because like someone else said, his debut goal against blackburn was outstanding and he looked like he could have been a massive hit for club and fans.

Christian Dailey finally? Asuming Size is good enough to fix many of our defensive issues where else do we most need to stregnthen? In the past we have all said defense and GB loaded the midfield. JP has been doing the same until Size turned up so just wondering if he will try to stregnthen in the area's we think need it or continue the trend and overload area's we dont need it.

Saints before Lowe...Saints 6 ManU 3
saintjay77 replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
IMO Rupes has done some things better than the previous board and some things worse. The last few years have been horrific for us as a club and I want some good times to come back. but to think it all went down hill after beating man u 6-3 is ridiculas. That was a fantastic result that shocked everyone in a season that we were tipped for relegation. there were a few years while lowe has been here where we were not the ones being tipped to go down! that in its self is an achievement compared to some of the years preceeding lowe. I dont like the guy but find it hard to argue that he is the sole reason to everything bad at our club while everything that is good has just been done to wind Lowe up. -
I may as well join in the fun cause i have been in stiches so far Cant work out how to re-size the bugger
-
I might be a bit thick here but on Sky sports site Surman is saying he exrects to be here after January and they say he told the OS. I cant find it on the OS though so was it there and has been lifted or am i just not looking good enough?

Surely we're not that far from having a decent team
saintjay77 replied to ExSt Peter Saint's topic in The Saints
I think Luck has had its fair share for taking an effect. Yesterday we looked quite good for the 1st 10 to 15 mins. Pressing hard and passing well. If we could play like that for 90+ mins I think we would be doing allot better. Our defence is so week though it only takes 2 mins of pressure on our penalty box and the whole team crumbles. Throw in some harsh decissions and the ball bouncing around to anyone but our players and the lads think the whole world is against them. So JP is good enough to get them playing a certain style that could be good but so far he looks cak at getting the team to pick themselves up when things go against them. Someone like Dowie I think wouldnt settle for the team falling apart like it does and would be ideal for getting the team to work there arses off to make there own luck. If we get Baird and Dailly we might get a bit more confidence about us which might help allot. We still need a striker that can score when all around him is falling to bits. Is Saga that striker? -
RIP to him and thoughts with his family.

saintjay77 replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
To be fair I think anyones dad could be turned if they had the likes of Arsenal's top guns contacting them saying how much they will look after there kid and so on. Not sure how much clout Fulham have got though so that could be better news for us? Did Baird and Davis fall out? -

Thanks for this WS If we can get daily (hoping he is still going to be good enough and injury free) he will make our defence much stronger as will Baird should he come home. Keeping Adam and Drew and also getting Saga back we will look like we have a pretty strong team. Question then will be can JP turn things around? I am guessing there will be a hatfull of managers that could work wonders with this team -----------KD------------ Baird--Perry--Daily--Skacel -----Morgan--Drew------- Lallana-------------Holmes -----------BWP----------- ----------Saga----------- or --------------KD---------------- Baird----Perry----Daily----Skacel Lallana--Morgan---Drew---Holmes -----------BWP---Saga---------- Add Euell into the mix and some of the kids coming through which IMO are good enough but need to be introduced allot slower than they are I think on paper we have a playoff team. if only huh. -
well at least i was trying to argue about the ones that we think Lowe was responsable for signing. lol. most on that list can be put down to managers choices more than lowe's. I still think the 50/50 is not far off though as there have been a fair few that we thought would be arse and turned out good but loads that get forgotten pretty quickly as they come in and keep our reserve team topped up for a while before we let them go.

Skacel is a left midfielder who can play at left back, same as surman is a left midfielder that can play at left back. so the only recognised left back we have is mills like i said before. add to that the chances of skacel and surman being gone do you not think getting a LB in was a good move?
