lol its funny how the usual suspects that highjack any thread that is not about Lowe refuse to answer a simple question on a thread that is just about lowe! No to all 3 from me. As much as I think he has at least tried to do what he thinks is right for our club he has failed in far to many areas for anyone to realisticly want to keep him here.

As your so good at predictions..... How will our next manager do? Who will be our next manager? How will we do in league 1? How will we do next season IF we survive? Who will eventually buy our club? Whats Saturdays Lotto numbers?
-
A poll was taken just after we lost 1 match that we didnt play too good in. If we convincingly win our next match how do you think the same poll would read then? Was that poll entered by the entire fan base of the couple of hundred that visit this site?

How many points did Peason have after his 1st 3 games?

I think the trick is to find an idea that is visable without being a detriment to the team/club. I think this would get more press coverage and support from all over the saints fan base. So the march to the ground doesnt hurt the club but it makes a point. At the end of the match that march away could then take place. Bad result and the away march numbers would be Huge IMO but in both instances the basic message is that we as fans want the club to survive and will stick by it no matter what (can be said through gritted teeth) but want the people at the top who have dragged us down out of the club for good. Boycotting games or marching out mid game or blocking corperates is either hurting the club financially or hurting the team through non support. If there are any money men out there that are interested in a footy club would it not be better for us to show how supportive we can be rather than how much we can twist the knife? I dont claim to have the answers and all credit to you for trying to get something sorted out. But IMO we need something that most of the fans can get behind even if it seems a little less effective.

is there really any point in this thread being open? It started as a taunt to wind people up and as what was probably intended it has turned into yet another Lowe debate.
-
IMO this seems to have turned from a march againts the suits to more of an attack on the club. The idea of holding off for a few weeks to have a re-think is a good one IMO. I can imagine a bunch of Poopy supporters standing outside our ground giving it the biggun while we try to support our team inside but the idea of our supporters doing it makes me cringe in all honesty.
-
Is this whole thread just made to try and have a go at anyone who doesnt agree with you? It seems that you dont really want a debate, you want an argument. Your doing your little mob the world of justice.

Thing is the tinkering that he has made has raised a fair few eye brows and fans have feared the worst but its surprising how many smiles there are after 3 points are tucked in the bag with pundits and fans alike saying they didnt get why he changed things but he obviously knows what he is doing because it was a success.

now that would be a march/protest I would walk to Southampton for!

I think the 2 ronnies came back thinking there plan would save more costs (which it appears to have done) and done enough to see us safe with a view of looking up the table rather than down. They were wrong which makes letting go of Pearson look like a really really bad mistake. Someone else said on another thread that had they kept him on they could have binned him at xmas should he be failing. They were in a win win situation and gambled and failed. Not much point in banging the pearson drum now though when Wotte is in a similar position to what Pearson was. I dont get why we argue about the past when Lowe is at our club yet we argue about the future when Crouch is here?
-
Maybe the powers that be should turn to you when they next have to decide on who shyould be at our club/ Or maybe turn to 1 of the other 200 or so people that think they know better on TSW? your opinion is your opinion. Nothing more and nothing less. I dont think that gives you the right to jump in with name calling from the start and billy big balls approach as if you are the one we should all bow down and listen too. Some of your later points show that your not against reason and objectivity, so why try the big I am approach. Have you seen anyone else act that way that wins any support? It doesnt work for Lowe so why should it work for you?

LOL I never thought of TDD's as a luvvie TBH. But to answer the original point, your comparing Pearson to what GB did in his final season right? the season many thought GB should get the boot because he was rubbish? And this makes Pearson great? As others have already said Pearson would have been more than welcome to stay if it was the fans choice and I dont think there are many that think he wouldnt have done better than JP. That doesnt mean we all think he would have stormed to the top of the league with us though and many of us are just asking for a little bit of realism when trying to compare what he did for us to what he might have done for us this year had he been given the chance.

Did BWP & McGoldrick attack a Saints fan?
saintjay77 replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
I think allot of people jumped on the bandwagon of the lad being whiter than white and obviously our players were guilty as charged and should be hung drawn and quatered long before anyone thought about if any of it was true. Some suggested that if it was true the lad himself could also be the guilty party but until its either in the press or the police have been involved either side could be guilty. from there many snowballs grew and its been just about everyones fault and at the same time no-body's. It took a fair bit of time for the press to get hold of it though and it could be a case of someone crying wolf. If the police are involved like has been said at least someone will look through CCTV and we will one way or another get to find out if anything did or didnt happen. -
Your POV is few and far between sometimes on here and I can do nothing other than agree with it. I dont think there really is anyone that is genuinly happy that Lowe is here but many would rather see any of his decissions as bad ones even when the same decissions made by there prefered chairman are seen as good ones. Evidence shows that Rupes bad decissions far outway his good ones but the others who had brief chances either made the same decissions or other bad ones. How come the ones who shout the loudest on here fail to see that is beyond me?
-
maybe a bit of both but your coment fits both situatuions anyway. How many of us would have gone banana's had Rupes given Pearson the un-known a shot at running our team? How many of us would have been happy that the team was running around a bit more but still finding it almost impossible to buy a win? How many would have thout Pearson was something special when it was thanks to other results that we stayed up? All I am saying is that depending on who made the appointment we all make differing opinions and dont give the same level of slack or outrage. Is that because 1 or the other is rubbish at there job or is it because we just dont like 1 or the other?
-
No I dont mean financially as in transfers but as in contracts. I dont know but I doubt there was any big pay-offs for Wigley, Gray and even Sturrock as i would have thought all of there contracts would have been small and with get out's built in. Yet at the time Lowe was hounded for not backing his man with decent contracts and supporting them. Like I said before, I am not saying it is right but they are all similar situations yet get treated differently because of who made the decissions,

Blimey West ham paid over 2mil for him!!!! lol

Tis where I am right now lol Small world.

I think that 1 of the points Jonah is making is that reason is all well and good but it is also the same reason that is a stick to beat RL with. Not backing his managers in the past has been something that he has been guilty of and slated for on numerous occasions yet when Crouch does the same thing its accepted as the right thing to do? Im not saying RL was right to make any of his decissions but I agree that when any of the chairmen/shareholders make a decission the same as any of the other ones then they should all be judged with the same reasoning and thinking.
-
LOL I could see the long list of Prem and CCC clubs lining up for his services when we let such a hot prospect go. We were a team that made the playoffs the season before, got screwed up with random GB decissions for the 1st half of the season, left with no confidence while under Dodd & Gorman and barly survived while under Pearson. The club that came and took pearson on was a club that to be fair shouldnt have been in a relegation scrap the same as us and kept most of there team in league 1. Some of there players are borderline Prem players and they are probably capable to achieving promotion with my pet lizard managing them. On top of that Mandertvv@t is willing to put money into a club that he owns completly so its hardly fair to compare them with anything going on with us. Due to the complete arse way our club is owned there is no 1 rich person that can decide to inject money into it without it turning into a point scoring excersize. Pearson may or may not have done better than JP (IMO I think he would have) but I dont see any evidence that suggests we would be in much better situation as we are in now.
-
ah fair enough was just wondering tis all
-
I thought that pearson had agreed to stay on under Lowe and was surprised to find out that Lowe went elsewhere. The point is though that there was an option to bail out of Pearsons contract and it was taken. If he was sacked then his contract would have been terminated and paid up in full. So IMO he wasnt sacked as is liked to be believed. Did Dodd and Gorman get sacked or was there another get out on that one?
-
To be fair he hasnt come on saying anything is definitley going to happen and took a fair bit of stick for his OP. He has come back with the report and is contacting the reporter for more info. it might turn out to be a load of guff but it doesnt look like Torbay Saint is the one on the wind up to me.

Every time I have seen him play for us I have seen the same as you. He is 4 foot nothing and thinks he can run through huge defence men time and time again. I dont get why he never knocked the ball on towards the touch line and chased it. He surly has more speed than most of the full backs in the league. And if the defender blocked him off it would be a foul and he would soon be on a yellow because of such actions. Failing that a short pass inside for a 1-2 would easily get round the back of the full back again drawing the foul or attempting to get a cross in? Why is it no-marks like us that can see this as a very simple tactic to at least try and probably get allot more success out of? Why did we have managers that were happy to watch him constantly trip over the ball when ever he was faced with a big defender?
