LOL of course. So WGS is a no good dirty liar and we should be glad we are shot of him. How dare he say he had no problem with Lowe! How dare he say he wanted a break for a while? He sould never get another job again unless he comes out and publicly slates RL and our club for being so crap! Your talking arse mate. He has had plenty of opertunity to come out and say the facts but every time he has the facts have been he didnt have a problem with RL or our club. How many other mid to lower table clubs have there chairmen thell there managers that they cant afford to get this player or that player? Even Chelsea havnt been able to go out and buy willy nilly now and with all there millions you wouldnt expect the board to refuse going for the best players in the world would you? We lived within our means end of story.

The thing that gets up my nose is the way the slightest rumour against RL quickly turns into Mob tactics and everyone is shooting from the hip about how evil Lowe is. I understand why it happens as the guy has done himself no favours in winning any fans over to his way of thinking but I dont think that excuses it. It might not be so bad if the other 2 got the same treatment but it seems that reaction is just saved for Lowe. I often agree with FC, Jonah, UP and FF as I cant find anything to be positive about RL but I also cant agree with the bully mentality that goes against him. 1 thing is for sure though and that is for us fans to have any chance of uniting the shareholders need to sell up and ship out. IMO they are all accountable and rarely have they done anything to improve our situation. Why we get drawn into personal war's with each other when we all claim to want whats best for the club I will never know. Our time would be better spent if we all got together to find a way out of this mess rather than debating which muppet we should support with continuing with this mess.

IF the club was hemereging money faster while Crouch was here and IF he wasnt going to do enough about it as he thought someone will buy us next week then it doesnt really matter if he was taking money or not as the club would still sink faster than something that sinks very fast. How can that be better than anyone trying to stop the club losing that much money? I know thats a big if and had he still been here after the offseason he may well have done everything needed to stop the rot. We will never know that but we do know that the other numpties figured the club was sinking fast and they needed to act. For Wilde to jump into bed with Lowe the situation had to be pretty convincing IMO. Its just a shame they couldnt all work together at stopping the rot and finding a buyer.

Yeah just like WGS

not kept up with this thread but as its still going is it worth anyone putting an update or is it the usual point scoring and arguing between the usual suspects?
-
Yup he has been included and Monk is not included cause your ight he played for Torquay before us.
-
Blayney came through our ranks but hasnt gone onto set the world alight elsewhere although was tipped for international recognition for a while. Poke is probably the one that our club has hoped would make the step up from our acadamy and although being loaned out allot there has never been talk about letting him go. So I guess the club see his future with us?

I didnt say I think any of them are capable of making the club succeed. Just think that none of them want it to fail. Its a positive what ever way you look at it. How they all try and do it creates less and less things to be positive about IMO.
-
Not debating what followed but thought it was worth pointing out that there was no need for it to start
-
For 1 reason or another none of the main shareholders want the club to fail. That has to be a positive doesnt it?

LOL Winner!

Made I Smile.

I dont think the point is how they left as when Bridge, Bale and Theo left the emphasis wasnt on building a team from our acadamy. I know it was slowly heading that way as thats what Lowe wanted, but all the same the management was always looking to stregnthen from anywhere other than the acadamy. I still think that we have lost/let go more players that have come through our acadamy than most teams throughout the leagues have done.
-
this thread was started due to some questions I had with UP on a different thread. I thought it was quite interesting to come up with players that we have either lost or sold that we brought through from the acadamy and UP made the thread before I had a chance. I think we were both thinking the same thing but from different directions. I figured that the past few years we had produced more tallent that have gone on to be relativly successful elsewhere than most other teams can take credit for. UP came up with a few and since then that has grown to a pretty full team and we could even come up with some fairly decent subs. I didnt see it as a dig at anyone in particular and it was nice to have a thread without the usual Lowe luvvie bashing that every other thread turns into. FC if you were trying to be funny it didnt work. UP you bit to something that wasnt worth biting too. now can we get back to the original thread please? Think someone has mentioned that Monk was bought from Torquay so dont think he came through our acadamy so looks like Cranie and Mills in the middle. Wise was in our acadamy but as was said in the OP the players should still be playing and I dont think Wise puts his boots on anymore but Phillips is a good shout.

lol

When put like that it doesnt look bad at all. I would probably have Mills in ahead of Crainie though and swap Bridge for Bale to stregnthen the defence. I think the point from the other thread was more about how many we have lost to others gain and I was thinking that we have lost much more than most other teams in the leagues. Looking above at that and its easy to see what made me think that. I would actually consider having that team ahead of the one we have right now.
-
bugger i was trying to be funny and it didnt work. lol
-
Not looking like such a bad team really. Cant say they would be anything better that CCC at best though.
-
ah so he did
-
I think the point is they were brought to the club when they were still at the acadamy age. What age did Oakley come to us?
-
So the update so far would be? GK: Darryl Flahavan, Paul Smith? RB : Chris Baird CB's : Monk, Cranie, Mills, Williamson LB : Bridge, Bale RM : Dyer although he hasnt officially left CM's : Howard or Jay Lucas (lol) LM : Bridge or Bale or Walcott CF's : Best, Blackstock, Walcott, McDonald or that little russian kid Pernoketchi or something.
-
Not sure we would fill a whole team off the top of my head but I think over the past few years we have turned out a higher number of players that make a career out of footy from League 1 upwards than most if not all other English teams. I dont think Rupes had his great idea when he 1st got here either and its something that has been developed over the last 5 or 6 years ish? so bring in a 14/15 year old and develop him and around 18 year old ish he should be breaking through. I think thats the general idea and looking at the players that left, Balckstock, Best, Mills, Cranie, Williamson, Mcdonald and maybe a few more all left after that age of 18. So maybe they thought that by that age they should be making a step up and if the option wasnt open with us they looked elsewhere. The idea to make the option with us a much more viable one should encourage the better kids to stay with us which again I think cant be a bad thing. There will always be surpless though but then thats what GHA is for.
-
think your right in saying it happened when lowe was in charge but that doesnt mean thats what he wanted. Many times he is slated for making the manager do what he wanted in picking the team or buying and selling players but if it was his vision for the kids to be brought through and not be sold on then by his own standards thats what would have happened wouldnt it? In the past few seasons I think he has been pressuring any managers into this way of thinking. Starting with redcrap who showed him he swans, GB who was selective in who he brought through, then there was a spell when Rupes wasnt in control and now he is back he has gone full tilt into it and come a croper. If his vision is going to work I would suggest the balence lay somewhere between what GB was doing and what JP did.
-
In a way that kind of highlights how good our acadamy was doesnt it? With so many doing well or fairly well elsewhere we were obviously doing something right. What Rupes wants is for that ability we bring through to actually do us some good instead of someone else. Cant say there is anything wrong with that can you? Spent money on our acadamy to feed our team and save on spending out on big money signings. Nice in theory but in practice you need the managment team in place that will do everything they can to bring through our kids to help our team. Had this been done a few years ago it might have made a difference as we had the quality and experience to give the kids that lift. Back then the kids trained with the kids and the 1st team trained seperatly. Redcrap threw the kids in like throwing a pack of cards in the air and tried saying they were not ready. Wotte has done the same thing with experience and we get the same results so are the experience not ready also? IMO its a finly ballenced thing to try and do. Rupes thought the dutch duo could do it but the problem is we have already lost the kids that should be ready to step up. Bale, Theo, Balckstock, Best, Mills, Williamson and many more. The kids that are left are almost ready and have been crucified by being forced in by JP. Wotte seems to be trying to correct that ballence but we are still 1 or 2 seasons away from having those kids that are ready to feed our team. Rupes hasnt got 2 weeks to get things right so there is no chance anyone is going to wait 2 seasons.

LOL oh how right you are. Although the words he speaks are grating on more than the extreme now as results have become more important than the odd "everything is OK, honest" interview. Not sure what he could say in this situation though. He says nothing and there would be a public Lowe bashing at how the OS is not up to date and its a conspiricy and Wotte is not comunicating with the fans and so on. He says something and makes a right pigs ear of it and comes accross as a buffoon who is learning lessons that we knew the answers to when he first walked in the door. And he is paid to manage the club ffs! still think he deserves a few more games to get it right before we turn against him. (like us saints fans will ever give anyone that RL put in time) Unfortunatly as a club we dont have that time to give so its results or oot.
