  1. Exactly. We are where we are this season because we have been trash, not because our strikers that often out shoot the opposition are crap but because they have had loads of off days.
  2. Sorry but how is 4th in the league not in form? The differeance was that we put some of our chances away and KD had another blinder. Most of the season we have created plenty of chances to win nearly all of our games had we put them away. Hopefully if Saga can carry on for a couple of games the pressure will be taken off some of the others and they may start scoring a few. Throughout the season the 2 main problems we have had were not being able to defend and not being able to put away our chances. Against Preston our Defending got better (still needs work though) and we found the back of the net. Simples

  4. Its reasons like that which stop the march and protests getting more support IMO. While I doubt Wottes appointment is what anyone wanted its only a small percentage that think its a completly silly decision. Many understand that we are skint and the cost of binning Wotte and getting someone else in, who would in no way gaurentee our survival, would also seem like a realy silly idea. If the protest was just about getting rid of Lowe as his being here does more to damage our club than anything else then the march would get much more support. I think the whole protest and march got highjacked into a hate mob rather than passionate fans wanting change for the better.
  5. I know where your coming from but I dont think anyone is trying to make him out as a genius. All he needs to do is steer us safe this season and he will have proved himself to be no more than capable. If we go on a really good run with 4 or 5 wins on the trot then we will be talking about promotion next season. I dont want to keep comparing him to Pearson but there are many similarities in our situation this year to last year and Pearson didnt get us going on an 4 or 5 game winning runs yet to some he got hereo status. Will get plenty of respect if he does as well as Pearson did IMO although I guess there will be a few that will still expect him to jump through a few extra hoops just because he is Lowe's choice.
  6. LOL Sorry but cant help but laugh. I know the next bad result we get (could well be against Cardiff) you will be back on here giving anyone that dared to think positivly after winning a game a right roasting. Well done Wotte for this one. Hope you can keep it going and get the points we need to keep us up.
  7. They may have been brought in as a duo but I was under the impression Wotte was there to Assist Jan by feeding him players that were ready for the 1st team. The idea of the reserves playing the same formation as the 1st team and them all training together on the same things are obviously good ideas but if JP had the decission on how they should all play then surly the blame lays with him for the lack of changes? Maybe Hockaday and Webster will be brought back in now? I have said before that I think the whole "Dutch Experiment" idea is a good one. But it needs the right people both in the playing staff and coaching staff for it to have any chance of working. Same can be said of the British way as was proved by Gray, Wigley, Dodd and Gorman compared to Hoddle and WGS. Hope that Wotte is the right man now and its not too late to save our season.
  8. Maybe your right. I actually believe the right thing to do is somewhere in between the "English" way and the Crazy "Dutch" experiment. Will wait to find out i Wotte can find the right mix but after 4 games I dont think its right to be calling for his head or comparing what someone else might have done in a whole season.
  9. Dont get me wrong as if I were in charge and we had money he wouldnt have been my choice but I am looking at this with the opinion that we dont have many choices right now. If he was offering advice to JP it seems JP wasnt listening as McLaggon didnt get a go. We didnt change formation. The old Pros didnt get a look in and we didnt get better or worse. Wotte has taken charge and of the 4 games we have played better in 3 and got 2 draws when we possibly should have had 2 wins. Formation has changed and experienced Players are back in the mix. I just think he deserves a chance. Besides we cant afford to change things anyway.
  10. If he was so influencial how come JP stuck with the kids kids and let the Pros watch from th sidlines? Why did the formation not change? VectiSaint posted some info about how Wotte is here to Assist JP and so on. I answered that the same way as this in that there are many people at the club "Assisting" the manager. Doesnt make them all Assistant Managers though does it?
  11. Although I think it is possible I dont hold out much hope. Will be elated if he does though.
  12. WGS's record was ace when we took him on though. Why am I answering a Skate?
  13. Anyone involved with the playing staff at SMS is there to "Assist" the manager. I read that little snippit as Wotte will assist Jan by preparing the kids and reserves to a level that Jan could use in the 1st team.
  14. As others have said, although Wotte has been at the club he has taken a back seat with regard to the 1st team as that job was taken by JP. he has taken over and acknowledged JP's mistakes and made changes accordingly. I guess should BD have come in 4 games ago he would have done the same thing? Just because Wotte was here already or came in at the same time as JP I dont see why he should be jdged like he has been in charge the whole season. Like you say though I think everyone expected him to be the one in charge with JP getting the assistant role or reserves or what ever. So now he is shouldnt he be getting the same support/slack as anyone else would have got? Christ if the decission was taken to get Dodd back in some role I would give him a clean slate to work from. I dont see why Wotte shouldnt also get that luxury.
  15. At the beginning of the season I didnt want BD and wanted a manager that got his team playing footy on the ground, fast with lots of passing. I was unsure if JP could do that but supported the idea that he was that type of manager and hoped he would do the business. So with our team I thought JP would be a better choice than BD. Hindsight tells me I was probably wrong and I think BD would have done better than JP. Wotte has had 4 games in charge with a team that BD would struggle to get a win out of. Bit early to say who would do better but of those 4 games I would say I think they would be even. BD couldnt have turned our shower of sh1t into anything better than what it is in 4 games. IMO.
  16. I think I disagreed with you at the start of the season as I thought we would be safe and thought the same about Plym. Dont think I shouted you or anyone else down though. And doesnt mean you can be sucha smart arse.
  17. So it doesnt matter if he actually turns out to be any good or not then?
  18. Fair enough but can the stay away 10,000 or so really be counted as denying themselves the pleasure? Or could they be counted as people who are not entertained and prefer to spend there money on something else? Anyone coming in will look at the worst case scenario which is what we are pretty much. which is a struggling team hemeraging money and not enough core fans to sustain the status quo. A fairly large section of the fans that have lost there patients with the club and all those in it and lead the line in getting support to protest against most decissions made at the club without thinking about the alternative. This is not a new idea, its what we have been doing for a few years so why should it change? Im not saying we as fans are wrong to be like this or that its our fault we are like it. But thats what billy Big Wad will see when he looks in our window. If our ptotests carried a simple message and we were still getting 20k through the door then billy Big wad would see nice big pound signs and hero status should he come in and get things right.
  19. Thats what I believe also. Why anyone would want to buy us when its plain to see how much our fans can turn on the board is beyond me. billy big wad comes in and buys the club. Team cant buy a win. fans turn on the board for not doing the business. no thanks.
  20. I think its possible to do both and Wotte is asking if those doing the march are being supportive or not? If the march is like you say it is and everyone gives 100% support to the team then he has his answer in that the march and protest IS supportive of the team. If the march is highjacked into a hate mob and turn round and march away withdrawing there support of the team then he has also got his answer in that NO they are not supportive of the team. So he is not Implying anything. He is asking a question. In some ways it could be looked at and suggested that he wants the protesters to gain strength and remain focused on what they want. A simple message from a massive march followed by 100% support IMO would be much more effective in pushing for a change at any level.
  21. TBF I support the idea of the fans uniting to make a change or a difference. But it wouldnt change my view on supporting the team. And if it is a 16 year old kid that organised it then good on him for doing something rather than constantly moaning. need more kids in the world like that IMO.
  22. So the people doing the march wanting Lowe out no matter what, wanting administration because it will get Lowe out no matter what, wanting JP and Wotte gone because they are the spawn of Lowe despite the fact that they have as good a chance as anyone else to get us out of the mess are all obviously supportive? He said he is not sure if they are or not sometimes. So he is sat on the fence so he doesnt offend anyone IMO. (didnt do it very good and should have kept shtum IMO) He goes on to say that we have a right to moan as we have been crap and sit 23rd in the league. (Nail on head moment?) But at times like these clubs do find out who there real fans are. the ones that still turn up to do there bit and support the team rather than withdraw there support and march away to moan about the finacial mess we find ourselves in. I dont think there is anyone who thinks we are in a good situation and I would bet that 100% of fans want Rupes gone but right now the team could do with all the support it can get. so what has Wotte said that is so bad? Its the interpritation that has gone astray and had Wotte been brought here by someone other than Rupes I bet the reaction would have been completly different.
  23. he didnt say that at all. If the protest and march was just about telling the board that we as fans are not happy with the status quo then the numbers in the march would be huge. If every member of the march got to SMS and walked in and took there seat to give full support to the team then His comments would be out of order. but the march has been highjacked like every thread on here into the usual talk of Boycott and LOWE OUT Campaign. hats off to those that organised it for wanting change and hats off to the many of those involved that take there seat in SMS to cheer the team on no matter what. but Wottes comments are aimed at those that have used the march and protest to drum up more people to boycott and join hate campaigns which as Wotte rightly says are wanting the club to fail. Actually he doesnt even say that. He asks if those are being supportive or do they want the club to fail? IMO everyone has jumped on a bandwagon of what they think he might have said and it possibly could be seen as a lowe luvvie comment so there for he is the spawn pf Lowe and there for should be publicly flogged until he renounces his lowe luvvie status and leaves soutwhampton never to be seen again!
  24. No he didnt. I was there and sat about 40 foot behind him. He spent most of the game on the touchline barking orders at Mule and co. He might not have picked the team but he was in charge. it might not be fair to put the loss down to him but its not fair also to ignor it and right it off as someone elses fault. Lowe gets stick for doing the very same thing and we all agree its wrong.
