only just tuned in and caught the end of the minutes applause. what was that for?

any time Puncheon comments on Saints its always really positive. Speaks to the youth team a fair bit and comes across as someone to look up to believe it or not. Good attitude and very supportive. Looks like he genuinly wants us to do well. Complete contrast to the image I have of him. Someone commented a while back that he fell out with NC and thats where the problem is. No idea what happened or if its a rumour started by NC haters though. If he came back and all was resolved, where ever the problem is, I would be happy to give him all the support he needed purly based on the way he has acted publicly towards us since the "falling out".

I think the Palace game included many of our 3rd choice players so it showed there was a fair bit of depth IMO. The result obviously wasnt important to the club so young players got a chance and others were played out of position to see how they would do in case of an emergancy. In CB we have Fonte, Jos, Martin, DS and RJ who if fit would all get in the 1st team spot ahead of Cork IMO. Also for a 1st team league match even if one of the options used in that palace game were brought it I doubt it would be more than 1 of them. No where near the 10 changes that were made so depth wouldnt be my worry in this league.

I think there are 2 main reasons why players want to play for the "big clubs" and they are, the riches and the chance to win things. It would take a long time for our team to get to the point where they are expected to win big things which would in turn make a player want to play for us. That kind of success would no doubt increase our fan base and the commercial side of things, which would allow for us to afford a level much higher than now. I dont think there is enough room to grow big enough so we can afford to keep the players needed to be "champions league regulars" though. Clubs at that level are looking at 70k seater stadiums to try and fund that level of football. Cant see us holding that much support personally but I suppose some years ago we wouldnt of thought we would get 30k crowds in the 2nd tier either? Still there is no harm in aiming for the top and if the plan to get there is as has been suggested by NC, then I would rather that route than splashing 200k a week on a spoilt scroat like tevez.

I think the general plan is to produce our own players and pay them well rather than paying top dollor to steam world class players from elsewhere. Not suggesting that will defo not happen but if it does I think it will be a rare occurance rather than the norm. The dream maybe to follow this method and it get us to champions league status but the practice might not be as easy as the dream. Barca do their very best to create their team from their youth ranks occasionally buying in a few extra players. Arsenal pay to bring in the best kids that have already been created in other youth systems then bring them through to the full team. Man U go from buying the best to bringing through a crop of youth and back to buying the best again Chelsea and Man City just bought the best although the latter seem to have some decent youth in the wings. They dont stand much chance of getting past the 2 world class teams in front of them though. So based on the interviews NC has done to date I would guess that we are trying to create a conveyer belt of tallent that will no doubt get poached for several years to come but will sustain us at prem level. If our team can get us to the higher levels of prem and regular Europe runs then increased capacity at the ground and a willingness to play for us will allow us to pay our players more. Alot of IF's but a pretty nice target I would say.

Yeah exactly, It may be a little to late to get muchio LOL'age out of the carnage that would take place down there but I think its fairly safe to say that had they not royally taken the P*** HMRC might not of wanted to have such a good dig around. It will help stop them trying the same tricks yet again though which should do more to keep them in their place in future.

Althought Pompey may have had a hand in HMRC wanting to get something done about this, Doesnt the dates relate to a time when Pompeys deals had to go through to be ratified by the FA? Spending cash that possibly should be earmarked for paying debts on quality over quantity is one thing but tax dodge deals via the FA might not have been so easy. If the disclossure of every payment over the last 3 years was in question then Pompey might have a little more to worry about I would of thought as allot of players went in and out of the club with allot of money changing hands yet the club still bombs with record debts. This might just close a loophole that may have enabled not so clean money to go through a washer though.

The club own the rights for internet broadcast for league matches. So the club use the BBC feed to play through the saints player. (yep saints player buyers are paying for the bbc comentary that the licence fee already pays for) But for Cup matches I dont think the same rules apply. The Solent feed on BBC iPlayer usually plays that recorded message is playing bbc radio kent tonight.

as its a cup game I thought it would be on radio solent online (radio feed obviously) but can only get some gumf being spoke on radio kent when I try and go there!

Cant see anything on there today for this. Anyone got any news on verdict being given or is that under wraps till other cases get done?

In some ways we need to try and look at it like any other game, im sure Adkins will be trying to get the team to treat it like that. Our team has enough quality about it to do the business and their team is due for a shake up in the management so their form could well be all over the place. Safe money will be on us I think but end of the season is the clubs target. Win or lose against the skates will not matter in the slightest if we are playing prem footy next year while the skates are still working out a way to stay in the championship.

Its the kind of place some who has something to prove will go. Limited success can be seen as a positive and failure can be blamed on many things. A season under their belt will go towards experience they will need when they go for future jobs. Its a good place to learn how its not done.

I thought the 18 percent drop for league 1 was interesting and wondered how much that was to do with us going up along with Brighton and who ever the other team was. The crowds we were getting last season must be a fair loss to the league 1 figures. Although as mentioned there are a few teams there that have in the past attracted decent crowds so maybe they are not pulling their weight.

If the comment or thread has been removed (correct or not) then that could well be the reason. Sounds like its bloody complex so there could be shed loads of problems either way.

To be at least a little bit fair on corp ho, he doesn't suggest it's his info so if it gets proved balls he has a way out of the stick he will no doubt get on here. The info does seem to be a bit premature though as the verdict has not yet been given. Also with the reporting ban in place due to what's thought to be due to the effect it could have on the other cases, would the verdict be given before the other cases are dealt with? As surly the result of this case could have an effect on the other cases. The reporting ban is to stop any unfair effect so would this also be kept quiet?
