  1. When you listen to the price of football podcast they go on about how clubs would rather not have too many season ticket holders as they make more money out of individual sales but obviously have to balance against the guaranteed income season tickets provide. So can imagine an expanded stadium allowing them to get more people in paying full price would be attractive to the club.
  2. Coventry United are having to go part time next season to keep them afloat. Means they will likely be cutting loose their captain cos they can't afford her wages. Opportunity for us maybe?
  3. Heard a rumour today that the ladies matches are all being moved to St marys next season
  4. Yeah it can be hard to keep up. Luckily I have a job where I can listen to them as I work. The kit one us from the weekend so not the latest but the one before. Was a really good listen.
  5. I was listening to the price of football podcast the other day and they had a guy from hummer on and he confirmed all the teams they supply to in the UK get a bespoke kit and for each of the 3 kits they submit about 15 - 20 designs to the club. Also said that next year is hummers 100 year anniversary and said the teams they supply kits to are in for a treat. Really good podcast and worth a listen.
  6. I see from the preview on the website that we will be getting the full treatment with saints brass etc on Wednesday
  7. When I saw it live it looked like she was originally going to be sin binned but then she stuck 2 fingers up and carried on having a go so got upped to a red. Even then she doubled back to have another go. After our 8th they completely lost their heads as felt there was a foul in the build up that they didn't get
  8. To be fair I didn't notice an increase in time wasting but if it got rolled out to the pro game I could see it being an issue
  9. Not many people knew what was going on but it was for dissent by their striker. She had a right go at the lino then 30 seconds later went off at the ref who sin binned her for 10 mins. She appeared to calm down after it. Though the rest of the team were getting really annoyed at some ref decisions which led to the keeper going at the end. Is only for dissent during the trial phase https://www.thefa.com/news/2019/jul/29/sin-bins-launched-for-2019-20-season-290719
  10. Great game tonight winning 8 nil with some absolute belters. 1st time ever seen sin bin used in football and Ipswich only drew. All in all a great night.
  11. I went to the pompey v oxford match a couple of months back to support a friend in the Oxford team. The abuse from some of the men who put themselves behind the keeper and followed to the other side at half time was disgusting. Oxford should have been out of sight in the game but drew 1-1 after one of their girls fractured her leg. I can imagine it will be another level of crap at fratton Park. Just got to hope that away fans are banned as you can bet there would be some trouble makers coming down.
  12. Burgers were alright. Cheap nasty drinks. I don't think it was the crowd. I think that the month off came at the wrong time and they haven't found their rhythm since.
  13. Millie is class and was a shame she didn't start. Think we really missed her and Shannon. Their keeper pulled off an absolute worldy at one point and who knows how the pressure would have built if she hadn't got it.
  14. We just never got going. Too many wayward passes. All the games I've been to we are normally really dynamic, fast, with good close passing. Today it was all too slow and too many long balls that went to no one. A fair bit of gamesmanship from the Ipswich players as well which didn't help our cause. Still have to believe that it will come down to the last game and that we can do it.
  15. They have a very good keeper. Are a very physical team. If we play our game and don't get dragged down to kicking lumps out of each other we should win.
  16. No idea. Nothing been said about ticketing to my knowledge. Pompey play at havant and Waterlooville ground
  17. Pompey away next
  18. On Sunday saints had just shy of 300 at the match. When I went to pompey v oxford they had a similar number. Chichester v Oxford had somewhere around 50 - 100 in attendance so at this level the numbers are not huge.
  19. Fitness was definitely a huge difference between the teams. I did think that Keynshams striker had something about her though and could play for a team at the top end of the league and not look out of place. She was quick and held the ball well just had no support to speak of. Like you say we are pretty much a professional team and they looked part time it was a mismatch. I think it will be interesting if (when) we do get promoted how we will get on against teams the next level up. Think we will be competitive but not have it all our own way. Am really enjoying watching the ladies this season. Also taken in a few other matches - chichester and selsey against oxford (friends with the Oxford keeper), pompey v Oxford (such a dirty game from pompey) and with my daughter playing for southampton women have been to a couple of their games too. Much more fun and relaxed than watching the men's games at the moment
  20. They were brilliant on Sunday. So ruthless in 2nd half. Keynsham only had 13 players so didn't have many options to be able to change things but we never let them settle on the ball. 3rd 9 nil win this season. Having watched a few of the other teams it is not fair to say the top 2 are miles better. Oxford and pompey are both decent (though pompey tend to play a very physical game rather than skillful). Oxford would have won the league last year and gone up to the championship had the season not been ended early. In the end they missed out on promotion cos the team that did go up had a better record over the 2 messed up seasons. I still expect us and Ipswich to go up but won't have it all our own way
  21. From the game on Sunday they do not play the same. The women had 3 centre backs and the wing backs were more like wingers. They were so dominant. Was really impressive football they played and at full time the manager gave my daughter a fist bump so she was really made up. Home again on Sunday against Keynsham.
  22. One reason I am happy my daughter loves being in goal. If she keeps working at it she has a chance of a future in the game as a lot less competition in her position
  23. Unfortunately the goalkeeper situation is not great at many clubs but a lot of that comes down to availability and quality of coaching. It is improving but takes time
  24. Sue Lopez used to be my boss. She was a trailblazer in women's football
  25. The annoying thing is that last season we were getting team news and updates throughout the games on twitter but this season that has stopped
