This is confusing, the club is not in admin but the holding company is but the FL seem to be taking both as the same according to their statement: "In light of all this advice, the Board concluded that an administrator had been appointed in respect of the Club or part of its undertaking or assets. Accordingly, it was left with no alternative other than to invoke its 'Sporting Sanctions' regulations and apply a 10 point penalty to the Club. The other provisions of The League's insolvency policy also become effective." So it looks like they are going to put the boot in regardless.

League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
Doctoroncall replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
Not really, it means that who ever is interested will reduce their price accordingly. -
Sorry to be pendantic but SLH are in administration, the club has very little money but are still solvent.
-
There's more to SLH than a football club you know, besides it doesn't really send out a positive message to all the staff concerned.
-
So it's OK for us to be pushed into a corner and not them!
-
But it could be worth a few million quid!
-
Thirty four enquiries is probably a lot to go through for the skeleton staff and the administrators at the club. Besides for all investors there are many aspects to find out about the club including the legal aspects of SLH going into admin and the FL not deducting points.

So the £5.5m fine, £25m compensation through the courts to the blades and another FA investigation is getting away with everything... lol

But he's said he's willing to help... perhaps we'll see him at SMS with bucket in hand at the last home game.

Why didnt Ali Dia save us from administration?

I think your question needs clarification. -
Why didn't Crouch save us from administration?

Surely not as important as clarifying the original question? -
Where Will the Creditors Get Their Money From?
Doctoroncall replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
If, somehow we survive in the CCC, and the FL find the plc and club are the same we will be deducted 10 this season meaning we go down but start on zero points like the other teams. If we are relegated through finishing in the bottom three, and FL penalise us, we'll start the season on -10 points. -

If they had a bid for the SFC asset, it would be considered against any other. -
couple of reasons, novelty has worn off and the actual influence over the team is in fact very small... which makes sense, can you imagine any manager working with some kind of director looking over his shoulder...oh!

Agree. The FL messed up with who/what could hold the "golden share" while the club owners would lose many rights through accepting the golden share. As a PLC has legal obligations beyond the league's remit, some clubs have chosen the holding plc route, the FL didn't and still don't have a clue what is in store for themselves. -
If anyone wants a journalist pov (and a good one with David Conn), here is a link about why there is no closure twenty years on: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/apr/13/hillsborough-disaster-police-south-yorkshire-liverpool

FC, from the report it states about ticketless fans "Although I found there was not a large body of such fans at Hillsborough there undoubtedly were some." It doesn't go into detail about the effect of the ticketless fans but I summise that the fans without tickets were a minor, perhaps insignificant contributing factor to the overall scheme of having so many fans arrive at the same time caused by traffic jams, location of entry points and police control as well as not delaying the start so fans were wanting to get in as quickly as possible.

Our saveoursaints appeal being launched tomorrow.

NC, no one has said this is going to be easy, but why are you being so negative about it? This proposal is a last resort, hopefully will not be needed, you have stated as not being interested in but have posted twice on in this thread - something you would call an oxymoron by your definition. -
some views of Luton fans of what went on and what they went through on here if anyone is interested: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/apr/08/debate-southampton-insolvency-points-deduction Also Stephen Browne saying why he's against points deduction.

so the echo is just the media front to the sticky on here? We just wait for your word "go" for things to start moving into place. -
Which ever team gets relegated from the prem this season will be hot favourites: There is an interesting correlation between relegation from the top flight and going into administration a few years later. Examples are (relegation year followed by administration year): Middlesbrough (1985/1988 ); Crystal Palace (1998/1998 ); QPR (1996/2000); Bradford City (2001/2001); Leicester City and Ipswich Town (2002/2002); Wimbledon (2000/2002); Derby County (2002/2003); Leeds United (2004/2006); Southampton (2005/2009). Southampton is not the only club to have debts of £30m plus as five others were in that category, including Leicester City which also had a new stadium to fund and debts of £40m, as did Derby County (£33m).

Doctoroncall replied to shurlock's topic in The Saints
not really, the points could still apply next season. This is where Alpine is right about a slow process... having a urgent agenda item on the next meeting (glad it was so soon) to come up with an independant forensic investigation of the accounts. That surely was a given and didn't need a committee to decide! -

A Norwich director (Mr Doncaster) is one of the panel to decide. He's also a solicitor.
