Indeed, the latest match report is funny as ****.
-
Norwich or Huddersfield, both have bought well, only doubt is Gunn for Norwich where as Clark is well regarded as a Manager. Watch out for some funny match reports from a Huddersfield fan: http://www.htfc-world.com/

Just shows what can happen in just under a month.

back on topic... As said they got -10 last season. However, if it's a stand alone club then a CVA needs to be agreed to exit administration. This seems to be achieved, unless like us there was a holding company structure which then folds after the creditors are paid with the sales of the assets.

I think that is the general view of fans that haven't investigated the detail. The stadium costs were reasonable easy to pay under the mortgage repayment scheme, so nothing to taxing even for a CCC side. Relegation saw an income stream of ~40m down to ~15m. That's a huge drop and for a club like Saints a radical approach to either try for promotion in the first season or major changes to the playing staff to adapt to the costs in the CCC. Neither approach was taken and so we stumbled on.

I wrote this when Lowe thought he'd found a loophole but it still applies... To date, FORTY clubs have gone into administration and I cannot see the current regulations making any impact to keep clubs from going under. Some might say, it's the responsibility of the directors to run it properly and endure the consequences, however, those that cause the problem are often the ones that do not suffer. The regulations should be changed so that the directors are more accountable for their actions, and it should be used to reduce the risk of a club folding in the first place, for example: # A more expansive fit and proper test for owners # A bond payable by the directors and held by the FL should financial difficulties arise. # Accounts should be submitted once (perhaps twice) a year to the FL so that checks can be made of the financial health of the club. # If a holding company has a football club as a subsidiary company then the other interests need to account for a significant amount of turnover/income of the parent company for it to be considered a separate entity. However, there are going to be clubs that fold, but hopefully fewer than has happen, any regulations should make sure the club (in administration) should not gain an advantage from doing so, either through relegation and/or player sales rather than the messy points deduction.

Quite, as TDD has said many times, having seen league one matches, there are some poor teams in this division, it's a question of whether Pardew can get the best out of what we have as well as identifying the right player to bring in (barring work permit issues) where he sees gaps and inadequacies.

No smoke without fire... oh... hang on! He was average at best for us, why invent an excuse for his inability to spend wisely and be a good manager?
-
I'm thinking about players such as Lloyd James, currently 21 with one full season played. He'll be 26 at the end of the five year plan at hopefully at his peak. There are others and with the likes of Davis, Woton, Perry and Murty gone, will they be seen as the old heads? Also, there has been quite a bit of emphasis on the acadamy providing players so it'll be interesting to see what plans the management have especially when you consider the high number of player loans from EPL clubs to the lower divisions.
-
Good point, I was focusing on the negative.... down negative man, down! If it's a five year plan to get to the EPL then it'll be interesting to see how they want to utilise the academy and how the current youngsters in the first team grow in stature to, firstly gain promotion in League One and then compete in the CCC.
-
Lets hope AP has other CB targets lined up as this is turning into another Stern John delay in signing the contract.
-
At least there is no mortgage repayments or interest on loans on the out goings page on the accounts ledger!
-
Thanks for that, the link even works here in Switzerland!

Promoted: Norwich, Huddersfield and SAINTS Relegated: Yeovil, Stockport, Carlisle and Brighton

I don't do dance! I can see a pattern of turmoil emerging that mirrors our own and is difficult to stop let alone reverse: Crippling debt, players left and potentially leaving, sub-standard* players arriving, injuries, a manager that has only a plan A and time running out to get more sub-standard* players into the first team squad. Added to that they now have players fighting amongst themselves. They also have the dilemma of a few players who will be out of contract next year (Krancjar, Diop and Distin) so will be free to talk come January if not sold this month. Just how much fight will they have next year? * when I say sub-standard, only in terms of the EPL
-
The points penalty would be for the current season and stands at 9 points.
-
Way too optimistic on the number of games he'll start, if not from injury it'll be from bans.
-
I can see Burnley just surviving as they have an astute manager and get them set up correctly, unlike the skates with Hart at the helm. Also the ACN is on during this coming winter so they'll lose any of Utaka, Diop, Belhadj and Mokoena for up to a month from end of December (it starts on the 10 January). Of course that's assuming they don't sell them first.
