apparently the change in ko time/date was at the request of the old bill.

Southend haven't the best home record, played 5, won 1, lost 1 and drawn 3 with only 5 goals for (3 against). Time to push for our first away win I think now we are scoring freely.

I would think most of the negativity comes from frustration and/or not having patience rather than not trusting AP can turn it round.

I like the "possibly without even engaging brain" bit, very apt on many levels.

Yeah, Lambert's was a beauty!

Are they hoping that many more will go if ticket prices are at lot less in a bigger capacity stadium? That's the only thing I can think of, afterall, there are 8 million potential fans to tap into according to their chairman.

I'd say they get more out of being a first teamer for a day than missing out on any football match, if indeed they play at the same time.

Let us not forget that there were 2,538 people killed on Britain's roads last year. People seem to think that driving is a right, it's not, it has to be earned (through the driving test) and what seems to be lost afterwards is the first priority of driving a vehicle, the safety of others. Apart from the fact he was using his ipod in some way, we don't know all the circumstances, but considerations need to be made of these and potentially other options (as LGT suggests) could be more appropriate.

Not a tragic accident when it could have been so easily avoided. He took the risk and is now paying for it but not as much as are the family he managed to destroy by killing the father. Life is full of hazards, why increase the risk of things happening when there are possible actions to mitigate against them. I have an ipod in my car, £80 fully fitted to connect it to the stereo, I'm sure he could have afforded it for his Mercedes CLC 180 sport car.

Depends on guarantees, but if he could charge a high rate of interest, he could get the pinnacle deposit back on £2m pretty quickly!

I don't get it, why would they ride into town to save the club? Bottom of the EPL, money needed to sustain the team, investment required for infrastructure. How much would they need to do all that so day by day PFC can be clawing some of it back? Newcastle seem to be a safer bet right now.

Thanks Phil, instead of getting on with a pile of jobs to do I've had a thoroughly enjoyable morning with the stories and links you have provided!

I'm not fully aware of what the state of club was like after years of degradation and ultimately administration, but I could imagine the infrastructure and footballing personnel had to be built up quickly with the start of the season fast approaching. All this change isn't going to stabilise overnight or indeed a few months. I had and still have my doubts about Pardew (his traits as an effective manager) and he wouldn't have been my first choice but I will not be calling for him to be sacked, Cortese will be able to make the right call given all the evidence of whether the club and team have progressed in the season. There's no point adding to the pressure by calling for his name, so better to support him and the team. I'm still waiting to see the "Tenacity, Spirit and Flair" in the team Pardew is known for and I do hope we see it soon.

It seems we (England) could produce some forward thinking coaches but could not use them to change/dictate the way the game was being played. Now it's completely different with foreign coaches over here with little chance of any English coaches progressing. More on the formations and the tactics can be found on video here: http://www.uefa.com/trainingground/index.html#34002/128/519239 These are given by European coaches, watch out for the astute Roy Hodgson!

Also depends on your level of risk you are willing to take. As the interest rates or so low, worth investigating the 'one account' (savings and mortgage combined).
-
Can also depend on the personnel at the managers' disposal but the main point is to negate an attacking threat from the oppostion. I can recommend Inverting the Pyramid by Jonathan Wilson. A thoroughly enjoyable read charting the change of tactics using the formation as the basis over the past century from the 2-3-5 to the 4-5-1. http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/sport/Book-review-Inverting-the-Pyramid.4260423.jp http://www.thepickards.co.uk/index.php/200908/inverting-the-pyramid-a-history-of-football-tactics/

I feel there is one or two games to go before the run comes to an end (although it would be funny if it never stopped)!

which one? the BBC have the Salisbury vs Barrow match... grrr!!
-
They are only missing a goalscorer, but I guess all the other teams need to do now is pack the defence and use the counter attack with the skates forced to play catch up in the points department.

Even my PC has taste, it has rejected to show this or any news article. The only thing I saw was that 3k tickets are available for the Everton game. Can some quote the article so I can have a laugh?

Hampshire: 152-3 (55.1 overs) Lumb on 33 and looks set to get the run rate up.
