Just shows what it has come to in football if Alex Ferguson took over at Manchester United today he would not have been given the chance to achieve what he has at United it took him 3 1/2 years to achieve anything. Who was our last manager to last more than 3 years, we are in the poo we are in because we have changed managers like the weather. Billy Davis is not the man we need, hoof and run, rough and tumble players, where is the money going to come from to bring the players in that fit his style of play?

We'll be in Europe next season................... If there's a war! ;-)

Match Day Parking - Hi-Q near Northam Bridge
John Boy Saint replied to swannymere's topic in The Saints
All of those removed or clamped should take up their case with the company just in case it is a bunch of Cowboy Clamper chancers which at £450 sounds like the case. If you have had the official green light to park there before then get done that is a bit harsh. If you just took the opportunity to park in any space then these day you run the risk of being robbed by parking enforcement. -
Someone has been sneaking a little too much Advocaat to put in their Lemonade: AND it isn't even December yet!! :drinkers:

I would say its a bit of progress as normally after a suprising away win on the Saturday the following midweek game has normally been a step backwards, Plymouth had come off the back of a comfortable win themselves on Saturday. In Saints current climate I would say it is a point won not 2 points lost...................................................................... Blimey things must be bad if I am happy with a point to keep the points tally moving.

I think in this case Whoosh should be accompanied by the command "Smoke on!" a la Red Arrows. ;-)

I wonder what Ritchie Blackmore is doing now?

Surely if he has signed 2 further contracts at Chelsea since leaving if there was a sell on that would have elapsed by now. The bloke who we really want to hit a very deep purple patch is young Master Blackstock as by all accounts when we flogged him to QPR for a handful of loose changed we built a very healthy sell on clause into that deal.

I can always remember being at the Dell when we hammered the reigning European Champions Nottingham Forest 4-1. They were a relative imoveable object at the time and we made them look ordinary, but then those we the days under Lawrie Mac when we were a bit special on our day.

Sorry I don't have what you have got. Our boiler is on the endagered spicies list as some spares are no longer available, and being a cynical bugger I don't intend to get my pants pulled down by inviting someone in for a quote. I was in Trade Sales builders merchants the other day and they had a selection on different types at prices that did not turn me grey. I know they need to be professionally fitted, but it was good to get some ideas of prices before we get the shake of the head and the sucking of air over teeth as the Stetsun is adjusted.

I have to say that the kind of thing being high-lighted by the first poster here is a bit like throwing stones in glasshouses. Because I recall a certain Mr Schumacher in his Ben Elton days (later to become Renault F1 under the same management) getting a bit narked at his team mate Johnny Herbert blowing his doors off all through winter testing, which resulted in good 'ole Mickey the Shoe manipulating the team so as to be sure that he always had the upper hand over Johnny. Its all politics of Formula 1 nothing new. Just because all the glass is missing in your house don't start throwing stones at someone elses. And just so that dear old Ponty does not think that I am picking an argument with him MS did the very same thing when he rocked up at Ferrari, gave the mad Irishman a pain in the backside then acquired a puppy called Rubens.

I have to say this is the re-occuring line that cracks me up, to be a racing driver you have to be a bit of a bloody minded bugger, thats how you got to park your bum in an F1 car in the first place and not your bestest buddy. He is not the first racing driver to drive with a swash buckling style, The fastest moustache since Errol Flynn ~ Nigel Mansell use to climb into his Williams and then hang his Gentlemans vegetables on his wing mirrors, a qualifying lap with him was sparks and gusto then next along came Prost who looked like he was out for a country drive and would set a time within 1/100th +/-, no one really got too upset with him. Todays drivers saw the retirement of Micky the Shoe (who was no gentleman driver himself) as a golden opportunity to get to the top step, what they did not see coming was another driver who "could" be the next big thing and for that they have got the arse.

And those same numpties cause the traffic to stop 2 miles back in the roadworks for no reason. The Dutch bloke Mr Gatso invented the speed cameras for motor racing purposes, but then the Dutch authorities realised that it could be used to police speeding motorists on the open road. Mr Gatso's best friend got prosecuted after being caught on one of them and never spoke to him again

Blimey what an exciting season, tyre rubber and barge board paint is still being exchanged on here 36 hours +/- after the checkered flag has fallen. If I wrote what I really thought about the FIA and their guidelines for penalties I would probably get a deleted post and a suspension for here, for starters.

I enjoyed last nights game, but then I have enjoyed most of our performances this season when looking behind the score. I thought we played well right across the pitch. Personally I thought Lancashire looked more and more assured as the game wore on, both James and Mills are growing into their roles superbly both have good vision when on the ball and look to be expensive with a pass rather than hoofing it aimlessly. As for James he may sometimes look a tad wobbily but he always looks to be prepared to die in an effort to snuff out the threat coming down his flank; I can live with that. Kelvin Davis Zero to Hero: where has he been hiding all this ability for the past couple of years. Well done lads.

Yes they do. I wonder how many people are truly staying away becuse of Lowe, Saints always had a average of 21-22k when there was space at the Dell last season we had a few gates around that figure, so 6-7k people have turned their back on seeing Saints at home because of 1 part of the club. As much as I am not enamoured by Lowe and Wilde I still support Southampton Football club the, only thing that staying away is going to do is drag the club ever downwards. The Football I am watching this season is refreshing and honest and at times sublime, for the first time in a few seasons I feel that I am getting value for the ticket that I have purchased; nail Coventry on Saturday and the gate will be up......................... We are going to seriously spank someone this season at St Mary's and I want to be there to see it.

It was a frustrating game in that someone at Blackpool had done their homework on us and stopped us flowing. What really ****ed me off and I hope someone in the management team has spotted it on the tapes was the showboating from our players while we were trying to get a goal back, one of which from our young French starlet will probably turn up on Soccer AM next week, McGoldrick tried (and failed) exactly the same trick 5 minutes when he would have been better just launching it at the goal. By all means showboat boys but save it for when you are 4-0 up with 2 minutes to go not when you are a goal behind!! FFS. Of course the cunning plan could have been with the TV cameras there to keep admiring eyes off our nippers................. Somehow I don't think so! Still we are only 4 games into the season, Sunderland lost their first 10 games a few seasons ago yet still got automatic promotion.

Makes you laugh, so many people getting in a tizzy over a Striker who has quite frankly done bugger all for us over the past season at least, yes he scored the goal that kept us in with a sniff of the play off finals, but even that season he frustrated most posters on here with his lack of endeavour. The best game that Rasiak had for us last season was against Norwich, when many around me in the stands commented that following that performance at full time he will probably get a hand on the shoulder in the tunnel and asked to wee in a bottle, the very next day he was at the Reebok on loan: just shows why we do not need players with that kind of attitude who up their game to get a move then just pull on their slippers and light a pipe and relax when it is acquired. I would far rather have some nippers and a seasoned pro who looks like he could be your Grandad who visibly put in some effort playing for the team than someone who does not give me value for money.
