  1. Pair of Pipe and Slippers players without the mettle for this league, or anywhere with muck and bullets.
  2. Well to lighten the mood on what has become a bit of a farce of a thread, I got my copy from Waterstone's in Basingstoke this evening signed by the great man too. I have read a little and laughed at much of it. Especially the Alan Ball arriving at the Pearly Gates yarn.
  3. I'm looking forward to singing "We were here when we were sh1t" or "We were here when we were broke" in years to come. A few years ago at Southend I thought the "we've got a shed that's bigger than this" was a witty little ditty
  4. Does make you laugh all the comments about "another youngster" at 22!! In the Saints team from last year at 22 most of them will have been on the front line for 6 years! When Michael Owen was picked for England against Argentina in France '98 some folks from here must have been having coronaries.......... Have you notice how the coppers look younger these days ;-)
  5. I don't think last season did him any favours getting sent off in his first start, then again later in the season I believe. Couple this to playing in a team that liked to make our 18 yard box the Alamo, without a commanding partner to learn from. The last thing that you need to be told by the fans is that you are sh1t, that just makes matters worse especially when you know have 20,000 pairs of eyes watching you at home, the bulk of whom are waiting to moan and groan if you make an error. You don't fluke your way through the academy system into the first team, AP must see something in him to pick him in the team. Maybe a loan spell when we have enough cover might be the tonic he needs.
  6. Ooo-errrr! Hope he comes with a translator ;-)
  7. Lets hope he has a big enough mouth from the off and backs it up by doing the right things.
  8. For those of you unable to make the signing in the Megastore or live a bit further north in Hampshire or beyond Matt will be signing copies in Waterstones Festival Place Basingstoke from 4:30pm on Friday afternoon. That's Junction 6 off the M3 and follow the signs for Town Centre for those of you knocking of early on Friday before heading south for the weekend. ;-)
  9. Money talks! I had a look on the Colchester website last night partly due to our interest in Hammond but mainly to find out why, after a great start to the season, they had a caretaker manager at the game last night. I noticed a piece by the Chairman regarding Hammond he basically said that the deal from Southampton was too good to ignore and the money they were getting could possibly buy a couple of players to replace him. With regard to Lambert when was the last time a 3rd division side lashed out over £1m on a striker?
  10. I thought it was Bob-a-Job week, and there was a chap in his shorts wide brimmed hat shirt and scarf complete with woggle hoping to get his footballing badge.
  11. Are we Ladybirds Spiders or Moths? ;-) I think if you look at how empty the Megastore looks that is a window in to how low things got at Southampton Football club. We need time and patience to get things back up and running where we would expect, I would imagine someone of the calibre and experience of ML & NC when they finally walked through the door they could see that a 5 year plan was probably the best option: if we are still flirting with disaster (in a big way) at Christmas then questions need to be asked.
  12. I hope you don't have a pet Rabbit.
  13. I think we are finding out why Derby we keen to get shot of "such a great winger": he is another of a fine collection of knackered pit ponies we have been suckered, and lumbered, with over recent years.
  14. Now Ball! Look into my eyes, not around my eyes, into my eyes.
  15. Have you found Mark Wotte's stash and smoking it while you post: demand the ball then pass it sideways or backwards! As I said on another thread Gillett was a massive influence for Blackpool in their promotion season, when he plays we have a better tempo, yet he is being touted as being as useful as a one legged man in a backside kicking contest: he hasn't even started a game for us yet! Which is a concern especially when the managers preference is for a midfielder who has to think about which foot he is going to kick the ball with!!!?!!
  16. PA announcer gives us hi~light of the game so far
  17. Rasiak really needs to come off the bench to be effective, as being picked from the off he seems to play with his pipe and slippers on, at least with Patto not being tainted with years in Football he is prepared to go an get the ball.
  18. Glad I turned over and went back to sleep this Morning instead of building up a sweat in anticipation for this first round draw.
  19. "How will the information be communicated to the public" Well none of that has been done, I have driven over 90,000 miles since the introduction of these signs many miles of which on Motorways, and I have to find out about them by asking the question on a Football related website!!!
  20. I keep buying Liebherr products: 3 Fridges, a Cement Mixer, 5 Different Diggers, and a chuffin great big container crane all in my garden!! :-) :smt032 :---)
  21. I sent this this Morning To: customerservices Subject: Saints Player Good Morning I have recently signed up to Saints Player, unfortunately I am at the end of the copper wire for my Broadband so the speed varies, I have found that when playing a video on the Saints player it buffers with frustrating frequency. I have the latest Flash Player and run it through Google Chrome. Is there any chance of you changing the run bar so that I can pull the play position back while it continues to buffer the rest of the Video, as this works for me when playing Videos with this kind of input. I have tried switching from High to Low with no Joy. To be honest if I get a stuttering performance continuously I will probably cancel my subscription at the end of my trial, Please remember not everyone gets the lightspeed connection speeds that they waffle on about on the adverts. Thank you for your attention in this matter This was the reply that I received ....................... Seems a bit standard issue as everything is running properly and every other streaming site works. Dear John Thank you for your email. Maybe some of the information will be of use to some of you out there. As I say I am at the very end of the wire my maximum speed is recorded at 800kb and averages about 625 both of which the know alls about this subject are amazed at. as BT will not be speeding the system up for another 2 years at least I might just be knocking Saints Player on the head. No offence to anyone who sells iT, but I very rarely hear of anyone who has bought a "wonderous" service, system, that works straight out of the box.
  22. Being behind the goal is a footie experience so why not open it up to families. Although I suspect with the closure of 3 corners last year as the J-Saints corner is self contained with facilities moving it to the Chapel means that they can now close that corner if the crowds are too small.
  23. Reading that feels like it was really meant rather than just words to appease the customers
  24. Driving past a aggregate depot in Narbonne southern France there was an array of Leibherr equipment in use and on display, so I nudged the wife giggled and tugged my forelock in their direction. Nice to see that I am not alone in this childish behaviour.
  25. A family is driving along behind an Ann Summers lorry when a giant Dildo falls off the back of the lorry and hits the windscreen. To hide her embarrassment the Mother says to the children in the back "gosh that was a very big insect!". To which the 7 year old son exclaimed "I am suprised it could at all with a willy that big!!".
