Blimey is this the model to replace the latest model released today or is it just an app for Chavs?

Errr??...... With Oldham going down to 7 men does than not mean that the game is abandoned and we have to replay the game?? Dagenham & Redbridge away we lose 2-1 thanks to 2 shocking refereeing decisions giving them penalties in added time. The second of which is saved 4 times after Kelvin is judged to have moved before the ball was struck; all this despite each of the last 4 attempts being shot straight at him with no power. Saints look very dimly on this and both Pardew and Cortese's post match comments get them into such hot water with the FL that despite Saints winning the next 10 games at a canter building up a goal difference of +49 we are deducted 30 points to teach them both a lesson, with a further 10 points suspended but applied should any of our players get booked before Christmas just for questioning the ability of the Football League to run the game after the -30 was applied.

Southampton's Royal Pier falls into the sea
John Boy Saint replied to Master Bates's topic in The Lounge
You would have thought that with all the money that has been spent to make the city look nice that someone would have taken this project on, especially as it looks like pimple on the backside of humanity since Red Funnel (I believe) tried to demolish it "by accident". -

Adverts for on line Poker, Casinos, Bingo et al just make me think: jeez are you that chuffin stupid to play computer gambling games against a computer running a program that has the house will win far more than it stumps up far more than it coughs out built into itself as a matter of course.

But the Lib Dems who they had to cut a deal with were against it add to this the glorious Labour party's ability, as always, to p!ss money up the wall probably also had an influence overall! So I would make like a Tortoise!

When we were in the Prem apparently it was the norm to rip up the pitch and re lay it, which is a job that costs even for us £100k. We went on a tour after the first season at SMS, the lady taking us around said that when she saw the pitch for the last game she thought the pitch looked superb, when she came in the next week with a tour group the first glimpse of the pitch on the tour was from one of the boxes and she was shocked to find the pitch had disappeared. I would have thought that it would have been better to just leave it another season when you consider the ploughed fields we have struggled on this last season: a few bomb holes on the SMS pitch might work in our favour. ;-)

RIP Mary. I have to admit to not having read Dell Diamond, so that piece from the OS was very enlightening. It makes you proud when you read about our history how for a "Little" club from the genteel South of England we have been so Avant-garde with the running and infrastructure of the club. And the people like Mary Bates, in what was a man's world, was pushing the edge of that metaphorical envelope. Thank you Mary.

I don't know that looks about the cut of the prices these days, I remember pre season in our Total Football football days, half the team played Basingstoke town the other Salisbury(?). Basingstoke Town charged £15 for adults and £7.50 for kids. So £12 if you are going to see 1st team players not the dribs and drabs we saw that day seems reasonable by comparison.

Having dismissed my ST after 1st season in fizzy pop for various reasons outside footie, then after being able to come to more games over that last 2 seasons, I thought that I would get an ST for the forthcoming season: all I am waiting for now is for the fixture list to come out so I can see which games will be off limits due to work. As for the surcharge on Matchday tickets that is absolutely barking mad, the operation is set up to sell tickets to fans for the main product of the company, not to charge them for the privilege of being able to buy a ticket. My work takes me all over the country so if a ST works out as not being viable these charges are less than encouraging especially as I live outside Southampton.

Our song would have got somewhere 20 years ago when Stock Aitkin and Waterman songs had some pop-y appeal, it was like the "tune" had been thawed out from a Cryogenic store for the occasion............................................ I half expected Jason Donovan to pop up!!

I can remember being a tiny nipper in the 60's standing at Farnborough Airshow when the announcer said that a special test bed Vulcan was about to carry out a display with the Concord engines attached to the wings, "those of you with small children are advised to defend their ears" My Dad borrowed some ear defenders for me from someone nearby, you could still just hear but the most memorable part as it flew around was the vibrations coming up through the floor!! Every night when it was flying home from the States it could be seen from our garden and never failed to stop you looking up. I believe that when the 30 year old state secret papers come out, that it will be revealed that Concorde was taken out of service at the request of the Americans following 9/11, as they feared that should a Concorde be hijacked, at flat chat not many Airforce planes could catch it.

:smt044 :smt078 (replace vomit with coffee all over the screen) That is a stunning amount of money for someone who was stroppy and less than impressive for us.

Reserves Pulled Out of Combination League.
John Boy Saint replied to miserableoldgit's topic in The Saints
Has to be the best way forward, as the quality of the opposition does not seem to be too much of a challenge, and looking at the results it seems the team approached the games last season with a laissez faire attitude. Getting better games especially overseas might inspire better performances that can be carried forwards into the first team. -
In fairness to Glenda he did say following the game against Italy that he took Matt off to early, on the flip side maybe he felt the slating Matt got lead by Danny "Whats the difference between a bucket of sh!t and Danny Baker................The bucket" Baker was a little unfair and felt obliged to deflect it. There will always be great players who will miss out of great football events simply because he does not fit in with their game plan..................... eg, Young Gillett for us last season before last was a key player AP came in and he became a forgotten man. C'est la vie

I always thought his brother was a bit handy with Scorpions. Surprised no mention of Steve Hackett!

To pull my Anorak on; these were probably on order before the 125 Badge and shirt was rubber stamped. When I asked Leighton in the shop before Christmas when the next stock was arriving he said 3 months which is normal Far East turnaround. It seems that this import of Gnomes has suffered the current mucking about with the shipping of goods from that part of the world making them late......................... Unless they have been on a Madagascar'esk detour!! Hood down Anorak off :-)

Blimey! Cheers Ronnie for being a big part of my Teenage musical years, RIP Sir. First I heard of it on here! Rainbow Long Live Rock N Roll was my first concious album purchase, might just go and spin the vinyl in honour of the man.

I brought a Wimbledon supporter to a game and he was so pleased to see Chris Perry, he was even more delighted to see that he still lived up to his nickname "The Rash" (for those who are curious "all over you like a ....."). Cheers for pulling on the Red & White Chris, you did it proud in my book. Good Luck

This should be like a New Orleans Funeral Jazz band ( Watch the beginning of James Bond Live and Let Die) then crank it up just as the players emerge from the tunnel, making sure that the PA controller does not behave like the usual knob that he does by cranking up the volume to drown out the fans. A better PA amplifying system would help (please NC & ML). I remember a few seasons ago at Portman Road midweek, when the teams came out the tune was banging (to quote Kevin & Perry) and the bass was seemed to pump up both sets of fans. If the same tune had been played on the SMS sound system it would have sounded like it was played on the cheapest Amstrad system found on Ebay.
