Should be a good game, another team that plays football = a team who will let us play. Got earache off Mrs John Boy on Sunday when I had just got a ticket a couple of weeks back for myself for this game as I thought she was at work, she had wangled her working day to fit the game in: so an additional voice in the choir on Saturday. She ain't too happy at the number of games she has missed thru work this season.

Just about to lose!
-
The Wife said at 3-0 he had said turn the lights off and all go home it's all done & dusted: or something along those lines.
-
Get good odds on us sneaking it on those stats, might be worth a dabble this time round.
-
You can't count that one: it was a draw............................. and we are Manchester United, don't you know!!??

JOIN ..................... Stupid iPad keyboard! Sorry it wasn't worth the wait!

Oldham are not too far behind us, so that would be a sign that they are playing football which will suit us. I also think when Adkins says that the whole team understands what we are trying to do here, the display on Saturday rubber stamped that: when we heard the line up in the cup and the changes, everyone was looking at each other with looks of dread from days long past, but as we saw in reality it was hard to see the join
-
I don't think that is the overriding issue these days, I would prefer to get it done and dusted in one go and avoid the expense of another long midweek trip for the team (probably at the expense of an existing midweek league fixture) and the risk of injuries and additional cards.

If he really hates Saints so much why did he not field a full team to try and smash us to bits. In reality the fact that the majority of Saints fans stood to applaud Brett off the pitch, shows how respectful and intelligent we are as supporters. Still adds a bit of spice for the next time he sets foot in our Stadium.

Oi oi! This thread has the danger of becoming we are betterer fans than you, it's almost like well we have nowt to moan about on the pitch: let's pick on each other. Everyone is happy with where they sit for whatever reason, some sing more than others, some snooze more than others, let's all live and let live and enjoy the adventure.

What a Winkle, I thought he had brought a breath of fresh air to the Prem, but he let himself down badly today.
-
I thought Brett looked slightly embarrassed at the standing ovation, the bloke is an honest footballer who worked chuffing hard for us, in fact he has worked bloody hard throughout his career. The standing ovation showed how much the majority appreciated his time with us, and gave us the opportunity to let him know it.
-
Loved it when he was stood on the sideline waiting to come on and the whole stadium was singing his name, that is something we have not seen at Saints for a very long time. From the view I had of his goal from The Chapel what a sublime strike.

Morgan was without doubt MOTM by a country mile today. Although I expect on the MOTM text compo in the ground Barney or Rickie probably got the vote.

Which players will make in the championship
John Boy Saint replied to Guan 2.0's topic in The Saints
I also think many faces in this team would do well in the Championship, but as has been said already first we need to get there, and increasingly we will come up against stubborn teams tactics set up to primarily stop us scoring heavily against them. Take Oldham last season when the play off dream finally came to an end, up to that point we had built up a head of steam, Oldham turned up with the sole intention not to be battered. That night was the first time in a long time that I had seen Saints throw the kitchen sink at a side (probably every kitchen sink in Hampshire), and we ended up being thwarted. We have the firepower and the ability, we just need to ensure we have the guile to make it and see who is good enough. -
He was great in Brassed off, I also recall him playing a great roll alongside Frank Finlay based around (quite aptly) a Funeral Parlour business. Whoever he played he always made that character seem that he really was him. RIP Pete
-
I think the slower pace of the Premiership would allow him to flourish, add to this the fact that there are less meathead defenders he would do well: I would like to see him get there with us though, just as I would AoC.

Probably for the benefit of some of the numpties on here who might not have understood the way it was stated in the first instance. ..................and still don't. The reoccurring message is that they will not spend money for spendings sake.

My Missus had that This Morning omnibus on the other Sunday, and they had Ms Katona on going on about getting herself sorted out. I just told the wife to turn it off as it was all self inflicted, someone elses fault b s, and anyone who was entralled by it all was in need of serious help. That said if I could get stinking rich very quickly for doing something Vacuous, that the shallow masses bought into. I would not say no!!
-
Ah well wall to wall cloud in the morning guaranteed then.

Something with the last 2 games we start slowly and build, by oppression, to a point where the last 20 minutes today Saints play like they are teasing a kitten ( the opposition) with a piece of wool. Someone is going to be smashed to pieces by us before this season is out.

Uncomfortable player meetings......
John Boy Saint replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
My only sticky encounter came not with a player but a past Goal keeping coach, nipped into the local off licence go asked how I thought Saints would do tomorrow at Villa by the Saints supporting owner, I replied "depends how much glue they put on Jonahs gloves" at which point he turns round and say do you know who this is? "nope". It was David Coles then Saints now skate goalie coach. He had a sneer, I stood my ground, told him a couple of Jonahs Faults 2 weeks later he stopped making them. So not that uncomfortable apart from at the beginning. -
Heavy Snow forecast on Friday night in Hampshire:24" in and hour and a half Enjoyed today's game well played Saints. Always a pleasure to see us spank team without breaking much of a sweat.

Portsmouth City Council..................... With the strap line "investing in class!".

Jaidi for me......... The man is immense in stature and presence. He may not be the most mobile but it is chuffin miles to get round him. Rickie may have had the best game in ages but Jaidi goal topped a great performance.
