Sounds about right - there is a pub just outside Warwick in the middle of nowhere, called The Case is Altered, they sell real ale only and they have a Bar Billiards table that only takes old Sixpences (from behind the bar) many a night while working away up there, supping our way through the selection of curious beers, and that has descended into "Tourettes" Billiards more than once, resulting in a ticking off from the landlord.........................and we are all old enough to know better! 😁

That'll mean no proper Bar Billiards table either then 😢

Thanks @kushiro for bumping this - that was a most pleasant read. The only thing that jumped out was the Hi!Hi! Hi! in 6 - I had read about this in one of the Hagiology books from a few years back, Saints had arrived home on the train to South Western House which was then the main Southampton station, from beating our then arch rivals Plymouth. It was somewhere around midnight and the local paper were amazed to see so many folk out to greet them at such an hour, and "they were greeted with the regular cheer of Yi!Yi!Yi!" Thats not picking holes more of an observation Thanks again

I’m just curious as to where the Teddy Bear and Elephant fit into this Deliverance tableaux?! 😳

He has spouted this in the Echo https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24317722.southampton-ceo-speaks-defence-owners-sport-republic/?ref=socialflow&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR15nP9qV5u7bOq2kwq_felJHxMAPm7lgqKBZpCdQbMmnMlTq5_zD9dCQU8_aem_AWDTlHP48RhWLRP6pJZ6vFLGVuYZbK0QPaf4rPOz5N-_AJEqIrAVzfVub8y947smiQ2BGKW-HFOtjD_3Xt-oB8kf Obviously wasn’t aware of the comment towards the end of last season that Dragan, who had taken a bit of a back seat, was taking greater interest again after his money people had flagged up the rate with which Saints were burning through his cash. We’ve all seen stories about big lotto winners blowing the whole lot in a short amount of time, and having nothing to show for it when the pot has run dry.

Most likely, as he would probably be rather static on the line in his current state.

Sekou Mara - Official: Signs for Strasbourg
John Boy Saint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
I remember that African lad we had, Mayuka (?) sat behind me in the stand at a pre season game in Spain with Maya and “Box head” Jos - he was often asking Maya sat next to him what was going on, on the pitch. I just wonder if Mara is of a similar mould, where he knows what to do in his own world, but doesn’t quite know what everyone else is doing around him and whilst he is working it out for himself he is mostly a step or two off the pace of the game. Watching yesterday, a good way into the first half, I wondered who the Saints player was moving to the ball, the commentator says “Mara” - thank you, I’d forgotten he was on the pitch!! There must be academy boys watching and thinking “what do I have to do??!!”. -
For those hoping for an update, my front 9 was a bit grim, but second half, despite cramp - having not played since October, I dug deep to play less shit. Didn’t rain on us so that’s a bit of a result. No surprise to see the scoreline supping a beer on the 19th. Having hung up my season ticket at the end of last season, after 45 years of moving heaven and earth to get down the Saints, this lot have made my Cold Turkey sooooo easy! 😢😢😢

On the upside, there may be some scores left unsettled from the skirmish after the final whistle up at Stoke and there’s some windmilling handbags, pushing and shoving nonsense to spice things up. Pretty sure Captain Jack can stoke up some needle (no pun intended).

I missed much of the first half due to finishing work in Oswestry at 6pm - but driving home listening to Radio 5 they were talking about both of last nights games. When discussing ours they had what sounded like a press conference clip of Maresca talking about liking the way we play and can see a plan we execute well - as the game went on, thinking back on that, I thought "yes - and you have worked out a way of counteracting it". Aside from thinking the players have resigned themselves to the play-offs, I don't think their fitness is where it should be.
-
Fat chance of those 4 getting anymore of a feel of the pitch - aside from the warm up and at half time - thats if they even get picked. Glad I have been invited to go and play golf on Saturday - at least I can influence how shit I play.
-
Probably to an empty stadium like last season

Have we had a shot on target?

Going in dry

Come on the NINE is on!

Ha-ha - hot knife through butt……..nothing

Row 3 says it all

Just got home for work first thing I saw was the ref “oh great we get nothing off Madley”. Oh look Leicester have scored Hartley a surprise

Part of VAR is to correct clear and obvious errors, yes I know corners and throw-ins being reviewed would make games last days, but that penalty review and outcome, to me, shows how flawed the whole thing is.
-
In the Chelsea City game there was the penalty review with Grealish (?), it hit his hand and went out, it clearly hit his hand in all the reviews but deemed not a penalty………..after which City got awarded a goal kick, yet everyone on the planet saw the ball off Grealishs hand and out for a Chelsea corner.

Booooo and now the media will burn through pallets of Kleenex Mansize
-
Bloody VAR
-
Pretty straightforward game - ref was in the right job with the demeanour of the kid no one liked at school. 😁. Just a shame this is a one team up league 2nd place play off against 2nd bottom of the WSL would add some spice because the Championship could get stagnant with more good teams in it.

Proves that lighting does strike twice out of the same Sky Blue cloud - shame we didn't get the Cole Palmer of keepers despite 2 raids on City.
