What is the main objective of competitive sport? To win. What is the main purpose of a manager in competitive sport? To make the team good enough to win. On current evidence, is Russell Martin meeting these definitions, even if only by the skin of his teeth? No. Would changing the manager at this point be a reasonable action given the above? Yes.
