  1. At Tranmere we had a soft penalty given against us. At MK Dons we had a soft penalty given to us. Such is life.
  2. Normally after a match the friends and my sons I go to the match with have a discussion about the game - who played well, who didnt, the tactics that worked, those that didn't and so on. We said absolutely nothing about this game. We were just silent - savouring the moment. It was almost perfect. In 46 years watching Saints, there have been only a handful of performances that are so exquisite - the last probably being against Spurs in the cup in 2003. This performance, although at a lower level of course, was up there with the best. Coming on the back of the Walsall result made it doubly special!
  3. By the time I have queued for a drink or a pie at half time and have been served by an apathetic spotty youth with a hangover, I have missed half time and the first ten minutes of the second half.
  4. Coming from Shrewsbury (370 mile round trip)
  5. Probably Antonio staying.
  6. No snow in Shrewsbury. Sun is out. Sky is Blue. Bloody cold though.
  7. Best wishes Ron. Would love to see you at St Marys in 2010
  8. I missed the Bradford match ( I was on holiday) but went to all the rest including Villa away.
  9. I am sure that it was our prmotion season in 1966. I remember getting to Waterloo station and seeing a sign telling us the match was off. Went to see Chelsea beat West Ham 6-2 instead. The match was rescheduled for a Monday night in early May and Terry Paine scored with a header which virtually guaranteed promotion. The previous saturday we had won 3-2 at Plymouth. We only needed to avoid a 6-0 defeat in our last game - away at the Champions Man City to get promotion. We drew 0-0. I remember it well !
  10. I think that most of us are now beginning to realise what a complete mess the club was in - not only financially but in terms of organisational structure. It really beggars belief.
  11. Huddersfield will be there or thereabouts as will Leeds if they can hang on to Beckford. Midtable for us but could sneak into the playoffs depending on signings.
  12. What doesnt add up is if Fialka is the sole 'money man' and the Echo is correct in that he is a man of straw, how was the exclusivity fee and the considerable legal fees Pinnacle must have incurred by now funded?
  13. Let me add sincere thanks to Leon for dipping into his wallet yet again. If as we are led to believe the club is on the verge of total collapse with no deal likely to sell the club (according to the Echo) why is he apparantly throwing good money after bad? What do you know that we dont Leon ??
  14. I am not by any means a Lowe luvvie and I have said many times to friends and on this board that I will not renew my season ticket if he is involved in any takeover. Like most of us, including Duncan, I have no idea whether Duncan's friends encounter is true or not. What I will say is that in our relegation season I was a guest at West Brom away and sat in the Directors Box. After the game Lowe was in the corridor at the exit from the directors box. I approached him and he took the trouble to speak to me for about five minutes. He had never met me before and didnt know who I was but was extremely civil and polite to me. All he knew about me was that I was a Saints fan.
  15. I have been a season ticket holder apart from a short break since 1974. I shall be renewing unless Lowe returns in which case I will never set foot in St Marys stadium again.

  17. Two extra rounds in the FA Cup - possibly !!
