From that era Leo Callaghan, John Homewood, Jack Taylor and Norman (?) Burtenshaw were excellent referees.

Wonderful!!! -
Just been transferred from Reading to Leicester for £5m

Arguably the two best players in that lineup did not get on the pitch.

I think it goes to penalties if it is a draw

Brought up in Surrey and moved to Alresford with my parents in 1964. Not at all interested in footie. Left school at that time and started work in Winchester, going on day release to Southampton Tech. Couple of friends from Tech persuaded me to go to a match at The Dell in October 1964 (Leyton Orient 2-2 Draw). Got the bug straight away. Apart from four years when I lived in Wales I have not missed many home matches since. Long since lost touch with the friends who took me to that first match.

I kind of disagree with this, they are going to be fighting for their lives to stay in the league, loads of games to be played yet and a few wins for them and they'll think they can get out of relegation. They are much more dangerous now than when they were just languishing around mid table mediocrity. I really wouldn't be surprised if they beat Brighton at the weekend. I would. They are playing them tonight !!!

Was brought up in Surrey and moved to Alresford at age of 16. Not really interested in football but persuaded to go to a match in 1964 by some friends on the same course at Southampton Tech. Drew 2-2 with Leyton Orient . I was hooked from then on. Still a season ticket holder although I live in Shropshire now. Not missed a home game this season. My two sons and two of my granddaughters are now season ticket holders.

I live about 25 miles from Walsall. Just started snowing - as forecast. Local forecast is for more snow tomorrow and Saturday, -
The ones that stick in my mind are Steve Williams in an evening match at Pompey just before the Cup Final in 1976 and Ronnie Ekelund at Coventry in 199? - one of the matches that Grobbelar allegedly tried to fix.

Ron Davies header from the edge of the penalty area against Wolves at The Dell c 1968

Do we really need a 33 year old who has never played outside the lower two divisions?

Excellent draw - I live in Shrewsbury. Good side though - will not be easy. -
Best player you've seen play 'in the flesh'

I remember George Best totally detroying us at The Dell when United won 5-2 ( I think!). Possibly the same year we won 4-1 at Old Trafford. -
I agree with Benji - we now have many options and permutations. Maybe at this stage in his career we need to use Chambo as an impact sub in much the same way as Antonio was last year. My personal feeling is that Lallana's best position is in the hole behind the two strikers - but how do we fit that into our system? Who would be a football manager?
-
If you know who it is are you happy with the appointment ?
-
I agree - we are far from out of the promotion race. However we are without Adam until the end of October and Ricky's form ( or lack of it) gives me cause for concern.

Markus Liebherr RIP. All tributes here please.

A very sad day. I cannot be at the church today due to work commitments but will be at St Marys on Saturday. Thank you Markus. I did not have the pleasure of knowing you personally but I will always think of you when I enter St Marys. I am glad that at least you saw us win a trophy. The image of you with the broad grin on your face and the camera in your hand will be my long lasting memory of the day at Wembley. Thoughts are with the family. -
And Curtis Davies and Luke Young

Still waiting for mine

They are not at the end of their contracts
