This........ and they won the league by 3 points, from now until the end of time records will show that they won by 3 points (and WE KNOW they couldn't beat their biggest rivals). End of

Now I know it's the silly season Several clubs have let Trotman go (including us) having not impressed on loan, Seabourne has been transfered for a fee (to us) and both him and Martin are going to be part of our squad for the new season. Can't see your logic, Trotman looked good for his first couple of games for us then his performances became less and less effective.

Difficult to miss-spell AIG.... these shirts must be worth a fortune as a collectors item

I don't get this bit about the club moving him on or the club getting rid of half developed players from the academy...... he is out of contract (presumably it was the longest we were able to offer him at his age at the time). The club have offered him a new deal (again, presumably at less than he thinks he's worth) and so he is free to look around at all the offers flooding in for his services. There must be something that the club see in him, he seemed to be a strange selection over some of the other players for some vital games in the last part of the season. Maybe the finances are good enough, but with no guarantee of 1st team appearances and he feels there are more chances of that elsewhere.

What he said - does that mean that I have become responsible for my actions again?

I'd much rather have a smaller, weaker team promoted to boost our challenge next year. But they wont be weaker just for us when we play them - they will weak for lots of other championship clubs so there is no advantage to us

In an attempt to prove that he was still alive a video of Bin laden was just released where he stated 'Portsmouth played **** on Monday night'. US security have denounced this video by saying this could have been made anytime in the last 5 years.

"BlueStar" don't have any spare open top buses available this weekend - so they have arranged for their associate company to supply one..... in full Brighton and Hove Bus company livery

I've watched the video (thanks Um Bongo)- every one at the club, players, manager, fans seem to believe that we have been promoted - just curious... has that complete knob Blackmore at Solent finally accepted that a win at Plymouth will give us promotion or is he still waiting for the P to go on to the table after Huddersfield have not won by 19 clear goals on Saturday.

After 8 seasons at Crystal Palace - I don't think he would be "stepping up"

+1 very, very disappointed with that game - played as if they were bottom of the league, not top.

Surely you mean David of Connolly?

Couldn't disagree more. I thought he made a positive contribution last night. His first time lay-offs were less wasteful and he tracked back when it counted. Our back line was not under so much pressure last night that they coped with pretty much every thing that was put into them. Therefore Guly did not need to be back defending the way he has done in previous games. I think others in the team were less effective - but that is not this thread.

Me - FWIW!

If they were the better team - why didn't they win. Having more possession doesn't make a team 'better' The better team is the one that wins and prevents their opponents from doing that - always! We didn't at Walsall, therefore we weren't the better team on the night.

You shouldn't stamp on a puppy with a broken leg, any additional stress on the fracture could slow your recovery -
Different kettle of fish - Deano was just "another" footballer amongst many - Bally was a well known player who had some very public history - wold cup winner etc. So yes he would have had the tribute.
-
Home to Crawley, back to half the ground closed and £10 a ticket - thank goodness we have passed that one by. We can remember our cup run for giving the PL champions a game to remember for all the best reasons.

Haven't voted (yet) I'm not sure it's as black and white as that. Bart put in a good shift yesterday, didn't seem over awed at all. OK he made a bit of a cock up with a clearance but so has Kelvin and many many other good keepers. He plays a different style to Kelvin, who may or may not have kept the two goals out, but what matters is that he did a good job on the day. What was mentioned during the game by us behind the goal was that, judging by some of the balls played by the backline across and to Bart they must have been quite comfortable and confident with him being there. That has got to be a positive for the whole team and it's spirit. I can't think of any precedent for tactical selection of goal keepers, the choices are they play well and keep their place, play poorly and get dropped or play rubbish week in week out. But I see possibilities in the tactical selection of one of two quality keepers in the same way where the selection of outfielders could be tactical depending on your opponents strengths/weaknesses. Not rotation - don't agree with that - purely tactics

That's the obvious reason why we played so s88t yesterday. The Team coach stopped at the Arsenal training ground on the way up and everyone had to sit around waiting for AOC to have his meeting, they were all hacked off at having to wait around so long for him!

Am I wrong, but I get the impression that most of the posters here believe these scarves to be 'official' merchandise. I saw these being touted at the footbridge on Northam Road after the game by a guy who looked as if he had made the trip down from south London specially to sell his tacky goods. I would definitely say that these scarves are not official merchandise as they are not being sold in club outlets. Putting another club, however famous, on our merchandise would ' pollute the brand' and be harmful to the long term merchandise image of our club. I think these kind of traders realised the size of our fanbase (and therefore potential "business opportunities") when we got through to the JPT final and they came out of the woodwork for every home game trying to sell all kinds of non-official gear.

until the 2nd goal went in Rickie played well today, holding the ball well and playing others in with flicks and passes. He has always played the ball into spaces, missing our players for the opposition to pick up, but when scoring in every game that gets overlooked. After their 2nd today his positive contribution deteriorated - he was injured in the last game and NA suggested post match that his injury was playing up. Maybe the game plan was to get 1 or 2 goals up then sub him with DC, but because that went tits - up he was forced to keep Rickie on because we insisted on playing high balls from the back and with 3 tall defenders a small forward line would be more ineffective. This was proved when DC came on - what happened, we carried on with the long high balls from the back with even less danger than when Rickie was on. I don't believe that Rickie should be played at all costs, when replacements are available they should be brought in for several positions, but I do not believe that RL does not want to play for this club any more.

BBC annoyed with Daily Echo over Saints coverage

I suggest reading the Sunday Mirror and the NoW- they have been running 1/2 page reports on our games since we settled the pictures issue.
