  1. Also dies anyone have any knowledge concerning Gillingham's nightlife? I'm assuming it'll be daily trips to Canterbury for Tommy. No need to go that far, Chatham and Rochester regularly feature in the late police reality tv programs - so he should feel at home there.
  2. Thank goodness that's over, we don't need our "friends" along the coast to do us any favours because basically, it's what we've known all along - they are ****(not very good) and flatter to deceive. We are robust enough to create our own destiny without their 'help'. Even though they are playing WH next it's back to normal on this board from now on, providing we get the 6 points needed BHA/WH etc can do whatever they like and if we take 3 off Reading so much the sweeter.
  3. Shortly into the game I began to think that a game of this significance should have had a premier league standard match official. Got home and googled Mr Swarbrick, turns out he's on the Premier preferred list of referees. God help us next season if we go up, there will still be s**t officials in charge of our games.
  4. I have been a believer for a while now, my only doubt has been how hard we would make it for ourselves. Now it is becoming less hard, but I am still nervous about Saturday, don't want any slip ups in statistically "easy" games.
  5. From the short bit that I was able to stream I don't think we were lucky, we played our way out of trouble by putting in a full shift where and when it counted. Step up to the rostrum" Super, super Kelv, super Kelvin Davies" Don't put down to luck - he worked his socks off today and kept us the 3 points.
  6. Don't you mean you will have his babies? That's what we used to say in my day.
  7. Does that mean we should let the boat sink then
  8. Bromley have taken the 2nd choice keeper from Blue Square Prem Ebbsfleet on loan - obviously a better choice than the subject of this thread!
  9. Came on as a sub last night - couldn't stop them losing 2-1 at home (played at Woking?) to Ebbsfleet or as I prefer to remember them Gravesend and Northfleet FC. A 'crowd' of 266 - I wish him well, but I wonder how long he will hack that level of football.
  10. Apparently going to be on BBC iPlayer from Weds, along with all the other football league goals from Monday's games.
  11. The problem with having a back up for Rickie is like having a back up for Kelvin- they do not play often enough to make an impact when on the odd occasion they are required. Do not disagree that another quality striker would be useful, but he would have to play at the expense of Rickie or Guly at times to ensure he would make the impact, Lee Barnard maybe could fit this role but at the moment is woefully short of competitive match fitness (one thing doing lots of training, but you can't beat playing in full games to get match fit). If you want a real quality player in January, someone has got give up their first choice spot to make room.
  12. Whenever I have seen Bart play his shot stopping has been occasionally 'suspect', but his positional play has always been good as has his confidence in the box. This where he differed to the "old" style Kelvin who didn't command his box until NA got to grips with him. I don't think Bart's poor shot stopping is solely down to lack of competitive games, slow reflexes would be (as he showed in the first half when the ball cannoned off the post whilst he stood motionless) - I think it is a floor in his performance capability which obviously affects his his overall confidence. Do I see him as Kelvin's natural succesor, I'm not sure.
  13. "Thought Morgan played really well on the right today - he was lost out there against Hull but today, especially in the first half I thought he was good." I'm not sure I should post, because I don't seem to know anything (don't recognise a diamond when it's there in front of me - just looks like a lot of players in the middle), but people around me today (and they should know) said Morgan was not very good on the right because he made the wrong choices about passing/shooting and lost the confidence towards the end of the first half of his team mates who refused to give him the ball and kept play on the crowded left. I'm confused because I thought he was rubbish/a liability until he went back to his usual position - then he started rocking! I think SDR is trying too hard to fit in to role that is not natural to him - he was a threat down the wing in his first games, he should be pacey and direct - it wont pay off every time but he will make it difficult for opposing defences and give AL more space by pulling defenders away. But, hey, I know nothing!
  14. Started reading this thread and immediately thought of Banana Man at that game any likelyhood of a re-appearance?
  15. Don't think we should believe, apparently we were 'gifted' 2 goals again yesterday (as quoted by their manager) - he didn't mention the other 2 we scored so perhaps we were only worth a draw. Speaking to a Leicester supporter last evening who is of the opinion that were are still riding last years' "bubble" and it wont last. He also reckons that now SGE has gone they WILL definitely go up this year. So, like that famous story line in Dallas, we must be all in a dream at the moment and when the wheels fall off our bus WHU, Leicester and Brighton will all step out of the shower and get the promotion they have the divine right to.
  16. should read ='everyone around me was...'
  17. once we started repeating for each players name that got the ball the mood lightened. have to admit that whilst everyone me was p**sing themselves laughing at he start I just didn't see it at all!
  18. My understanding is that Hammond wont be in the cup squad on Tuesday because he will be serving his one match suspension
  19. you should grow up - coach drivers have regulations that they must abide by and allowing you to behave like a twelve year old tw*t is not one of them. Coach drivers have a tough job to do at the best of times.
  20. I bought 2 tickets for Palace today, I didn't pay the tax nor was I asked for a contribution to the Foundation. I feel so guilty now, especially as I legitimately claimed my over 60 (but under 65) concession for this game.
  21. Well,if it's that bad how come the whole ground manages to hear when the Car Park is to be closed at the end of a game and the crowd must not invade the pitch at the end of a last home game. They must hear it clearly given all the heckling and abuse these two announcements generate. Just a thought.
  22. Post 27 before Hammond was mentioned - I thought that for a period (after I noticed it!) in the second half that everything in midfield went through him. A very understated superb performance from him
