  1. But you already said that
  2. According to their website Coliseum are part of the Lucketts group
  3. Not sure how we can be an 'easy touch'. We get top money for our transfers out (Mane in particular) and don't pay over the odds for incoming - let's not revive the Shane Long thing again as I think over the course of his contract he has justified his fee.
  4. Despite all the smoke screens about Puel etc I'm ITK Having taking VW, the next season taking FF, and last season taking VVD, despite him having just signed for the club we are going for the greatest manager of our time Brendan. We are his spiritual home after all!
  5. I don't agree that League 1 was "dismal days", dropping into League with minus 10 points was dismal, but once the season got under way I thought it was exciting (ok, frustrating when the early results didn't go our way). Watching the arrival of decent players including Jose to take the team up the league and onto Wembley don't forget - that wasn't dismal. I stand behind the Northam goal and my particular memory of the CB's was the vision of Radhi collecting the ball in our penalty area (Chapel End - 1st half of course) and starting to run with it down the centre. the initial space he had allowed him to pick up speed and by the time he was through the centre circle none of the opposing players wanted to get near him such was his momentum! obviously nothing came from this run, I don't remember how the move broke down, just the vision of this man-mountain thundering towards goal at full flight will stay with me always. You're right, Jose will be one of our all time greats.
  6. 24 hours late® it's been reported, better late than never? BTW Jo Kent regularly covers sport so no excuse there, perhaps the MS interview was already scheduled for broadcast and they couldn't cope with the news of Jordie's signing in one show. Who knows how the minds of these media graduates work as to which was more current and relevant.
  7. If IRC he was sold to Stoke for £1m, despite having major injury problems, whilst appearing to be good business on our part unfortunately that proved a cheap way for Stoke to unload a certain Anthony Pullis on to us as part of the deal.
  8. Didn't the 3 subs put in a shift as well??!!
  9. Beat me to it - having said that I thought our kit was rubbish I now take it all back! Compared to the new Manure kit ours is totally AB-FAB, love it, pls cancel my poll vote.
  10. Lack of signings - simples, they have been shown the new kit and have said F**k that I'm not wearing that s**t - I'll sign for a team that has a decent kit
  11. Think Osvaldo comes into the "player wants away" group and RK is described as a Manager who doesn't want those that don't want to stay.
  12. Has it struck anyone else as ironic? Given our current dearth of goals and inability to score "sitters" February's Motd Goal of the Month contained two goals from Saints.
  13. The best ever Saints goal has to be (IMO) Mattie's last goal at the Dell. There have been goals that have been more technical - as in the clips shown, and he has scored more skillful goals, but if you asked any Saints fan on that day what they wanted and Matty scoring the last goal that wins the game has to be the top answer. His goal was what dreams are made of, always in the memory even if you weren't there, it has gone down in history for the club and the fans and written into folklore. I don't think anything like that will come again.
  14. The "Shroppie" runs alongside Stokes' ground
  15. In the new way of doing things, I think Lee may have something to show - keep options open until he's had a few games to prove his capabilities.
  16. "Swampguts!" - Thank god for that, he's moved from the Northam at last!
  17. The rules seem to indicate:- Each Premiership and Football League ground has its own ground regulations based upon the model ground regulations recommended by the Premier and Football Leagues. Rules 9 and 18 of the model regulations provide that: 9. Nobody may stand in any seated area whilst play is in progress. Persistent standing in seated areas while play is in progress is strictly forbidden and may result in ejection from the ground. 18. The club reserves absolutely the right to eject from the ground any person failing to comply with any of the ground regulations or whose presence within the ground is, or could reasonably be construed as, constituting a source of danger, nuisance or annoyance to any other person. This could lead to further action by the club including, but not limited to, the withdrawal of any season ticket (without reimbursement)and other benefits. 18.1 Entry to the ground shall constitute acceptance of the ground regulations. Local safety certificates have to take account of these regulations? Doesn't that mean we have to sit? Confusing isn't it?
  18. Sunderland have apparently suspended the season tickets of 30 fans who have refused to sit during games. I am in the Northam and obviously watch the entire game standing. I have been amazed that we have been left alone by the stewards this season, I fully expected, now we are in the PL to be enforced to follow the rules and be seated. Presumably as a fellow PL club has taken this decision the other clubs (including SFC) will have to follow suit. Do we expect aggravation and dissent if no standing is enforced?
  19. Just come home from the works Christmas party - did my best impression of sammy saint (without the dog costume obviously) and had my colleagues in stitches and I' m over 60 so great stuff Sammy, but no more at the stadium please you can't take it any further
  20. Sitting a bit closer than you - there was some noise from them, mainly our songs with name changes. |They don't seem have any original songs of their own, but what do you expect from a club that has to print its own song sheets for fans to follow. The next challenge for Gareth Malone - get Reading fans to sing their hearts out spontaneously, if he needs ideas then pop down to St Mary's and we can show him how it's done!
  21. Today's ref did make some errors in his decisions, but compared to the S*** officials in at least the last 3 home games he was a great improvement. I was confused for a while today-just not used to some decisions going our way (including some that were not really deserved - but heh we'll take whatever comes our way, after weeks of so much going against us)
  22. Falque played full game last night v. Carlisle
  23. I went to a French 2nd division Rugby match last week, they too were allowed 7 subs, difference is that they subbed players at a whim. A player who was subbed at 30 minutes came back on again in the second half, then went off again and the player who replaced him first then replaced him again. A rugby supporter that I went with was as confused as me. Good ploy for getting Foxy some time though.
