He made a TWO glaring mistakes that on another day could have cost us goals and then he would be getting slated. A poor headed clearance in the first half that lead to a shot on goal and a poor clearance in the second half that also lead to an attempt on goal. He does look more solid and physical than Cedric though so he deserved to keep the shirt. I also hope he improves once match fitness and sharpness come along.

We knew Scheniderlin was off in the summer of 2014 so plans should have been in place way before he left. Signing someone with outstanding potential like Alli in the January transfer window is the sort of move you should be making, He was on our list and Paul Mitchell and Pochettino stole a march on us by going for him in January. We were too slow to react but hindsight is a wonderful thing I guess!

1) Jose Fonte is our most important player. He is our leader, linchpin and the man who organizes our defence and makes us tick. Without him we look weak, vulnerable and lack strength. 2) Stephen Caulker just isn't good enough for the Premier league and his omission from the team to date has been the right call. 3) Our attacking trio of Pelle, Mane and Tadic are fantastic when on top but when the going gets tough their heads drop and they give up. 4) Ryan Bertrand is not a midfielder but one of our most dangerous attacking weapons when coming from deep at full back. 5) Liverpool fans, despite the loss of 'no class' Rogers and the gaining of a manager with outstanding personality have more than proven that they are still ****s.

Who said I am not? I would be very happy to have a younger understudy waiting on the wings. Maybe we already have in Sam Gallagher who is still young and learning and has a good loan move to MK Dons. Although he is yet to force his way in at MK Dons after all it took Harry Kane several unimpressive loan moves before he made his breakthrough season at Spurs. In any case in Shane Long and Jay Rod and possibly Juanmi we have decent backup options for now, even though they are a little different in style.

Please can those who were clamoring to replace him this summer now please shut the **** up. He is the perfect lone striker, big, strong brilliant at holding the ball up. He is no slouch and he is also a decent finisher when he is confident. All he needs is decent runners off him so his deft touches and great awareness can bring those runners into play. There are not many strikers in the premier league I would replace him with as you have to remember he is perfect for the system Koeman wants to play. I think for the 8ish million fee we paid he has proved to be an absolute bargain and this and last week he was just unplayable and long may that continue.

I'd agree with someone like Byram a young British full back with very good potential to compete with Soares in the same bracket as when we signed Nathaniel Clyne.

Exactly my point, Ronald obviously isn't that impressed and it looks like Gaston will be part of the squad for cup games and he is only likely to get a chance in the Premier League if we get a couple of injuries.
