  1. If Forest are crap then I would hate to think what Saints are... Crapper?
  2. The run for that last goal was embarrassing and both Surman and James were shown up for their lack of pace. The real embarrassing thing though is the comments of the Bristol player Sproule after the match. He said that he knew he could outpace our team. The fact he just wellied the ball and went after it proved he was right. I reckon every manager in this league knows we lack pace and I am positive there tactics and team talks focus on this.
  3. I do not fully agree. First half highlights it looked like we were not at the races but did hit the post twice and on another day one of those could have gone in. Second half we looked to be on top but did not really create much of note. A couple of speculative efforts but we did not seem to look dangerous and that was all I got from the highlights. Had we have drawn Bristol City could have no complaints but we certainly did not look like winning the match. I think Bristol must have played within themselves second half and it did look like that had another gear to go up. Oh and why are their players so much faster than ours? We do have some tractors in our team!
  4. The fact you were obviously never taught the sticks and stones lesson whilst you were a child is very apparent. Also condoning physical violence on an internet forum is just about the only thing on this thread anyone should be ashamed of. However you are right when you say no one should verbally abuse anyone but whilst not being right it does happens, but resorting to physical violence is not acceptable? If it happened then they deserve what is coming to them. Call yourself a moderator? You are one of the biggest antagonist wind ups on this forum. How you got that position is beyond me.
  5. It is a fair assumption to make but no matter what the guy said to them, if they assaulted him, have been arrested and then charged then I cannot see any way back for either of them. After getting in trouble last year you would have thought BWP would just want to knuckle down, fight for a place in the team and play some football again. As for Lallana crying then oh dear. It kind of goes to show you the mental strength or our rather fragile young team. No wonder people like Gavin Mahon bully us when we play them.
  6. Hahaha snowing heavy again here. At least one and half foot deep in places. As a precaution I have even tuck a shovel inside the front door in case I need to dig myself out! lol As for gone by tomorrow, not a chance here. If it is gone by Wednesday we will be lucky.
  7. Over 1 foot of snow in Epsom Surrey. No buses, No trains. I just watched the bloke opposite roll off his drive get stuck and then spend the next hour trying to push his small car back on, plumb! Anyway I cannot see many transfers taking place today? Surely the ones that have taken place already and medicals and travel arrangements have already been made will go ahead. I have never seen anything like it in my 35 years of life. Oh and I hate snow! lol
  8. The protests are fine as a start point (well done to all those who organised and took part) but essentially your point is and always has been the case. Hitting the club in the pocket is the only way the board and more importantly the banks will take any notice. This may also not happen overnight it may take a run of consecutive home matches. If we go down this road then there is no doubt that there will be severe negative effects that we may never truly recover from. It would have a negative effect on the team playing with little or no support. Are we all really prepared to sacrifice points at this crucial important stage of the season? The fight we have jjust shown suggests that we may have just turned the corner after all. Are season ticket holders really prepared to not go to matches? Personally if I was in their position I could totally understand if they were not. They have paid their money after all. It is a very hard one with no simplistic solution as many people seem to keep implying. Personally I also think it would end with certain relegation whereas after the last two comebacks I now think we have a fighting chance.
  9. If you think any neutrals have any insights or knowledge to what is going on at Southampton then you are sadly mistaken. Articles like this go a long way to show the rest of the football world the predicament we are in and the reasons why, so on that score I welcome it.
  10. Yes football is that simplistic isn't it? Please remind me how many Sagga scored last season? I agree Sagga should be starting but dressing up your argument with non facts is pretty desperate and a rather sad.
  11. Some of you chaps really like the sound of your own voices too much. May I suggest you do not renew your subscription limiting yourself to 3 constructive posts per day and that way saving the rest of us from reading your inane drivel? I just wasted one of my precious 3 in the hope of restoring some sanity!
  12. Am I the only one who thinks Mark Wotte could be a surprise success this season? I have a feeling he is going to make one or two of you eat your words. So far for me he has said all of the right things. Actions do speak louder though so I shall look forward to his team formation and setup for tomorrow night with interest. I would not be surprised if there was a clamour to keep Mr Wotte next summer. Some of you would do well to remember that YOU have all got it wrong in the past. I guess we will see come May 3rd!
  13. Why would he want to get involved and tarnish a fantastic legacy and reputation with the fans? He does not owe us anything. In fact I would say quite the opposite!
  14. Already done properly by yours truly on page 1 of the portaloo quits thread!
  15. You Wotte, you wotte, you wotte, you wotte, you wotte!
  16. Wasn't there some Asian investor who bought a 10% stake when rumours of a takeover were happening a few years back? I seem to recall he bought them at the 50-60 pence mark although I may be wrong. Did he later sell or does he still own them?
  17. Is anyone really surprised? Lowe was always going to stick by his man. What else could he do? Admit he had totally ****ed things up, yet again? Not going to happen people we are stuck with the bloke until the bitter end.
  18. If Lowe, Wilde and JP are still here at the next home game then my suggestion is as follows. Go and enjoy your pre match beer up as usual. Then turn up to the match and wait outside the front of St Mary's main entrance and sing and chant to your heart’s content. Do not enter the stadium until at least half time if at all! I know it will be hard especially on season ticket holders but a visual on mass protest is now needed.
  19. Ian Dowie for me.
  20. I have supported JP since day 1. Not because I have had total confidence in his ability but mainly because he deserved a chance. After the result against Forest and now Doncaster he has to be removed and someone else given a go. My change of viewpoint is in no way reactionary but it was a conscious decision I made after the Forest defeat. The home games against the teams around us cannot be lost. Jan has now failed a second time and the poor home form cannot go on. Turning around our very poor home form is the only chance we have of staying up. I now cannot see this happening unless there is a change of manager. I have met and really like JP. It is a shame but that is football. The problem then is who do we replace him with? Who would actually want the job? Questions for another thread but I cannot see there being many takers!
  21. Not exactly prolific in his early days was he? Granted there were times he was left out due to Chris Nichol protecting him and a fair few appearances from the bench. Now the comparison was not meant to be a direct comparison as some of you have taken it (some sad comments from a couple of you I have to add). The comparison was saying hey look we do not really know what this guy is going to be like so just give him a chance. The comparison is just a personal view that on occasions Matty did frustrate a lot of people including me especially in the early part of his career. If you do not agree then I can only assume you were either too young or not actually stood on the terraces watching Matty play. The guy for me is a genius and one of if not the best player I have ever seen. He was not flawless though and did have his critics especially in his early days. Could McGoldrick possibly be the same? 1986-1987 Played 24 Scored 6 goals (Division 1) 1987-1988 Played 19 Scored 0 goals (Division 1) 1988-1989 Played 28 Scored 9 goals (Division 1) 1989-1990 Played 35 Scored 20 goals (Division 1) 1990-1991 Played 35 Scored 19 goals (Division 1) 1991-1992 Played 32 Scored 6 goals (Division 1) 1992-1993 Played 40 Scored 15 goals (Premiership) 1993-1994 Played 38 Scored 25 goals (Premiership) 1994-1995 Played 41 Scored 20 goals (Premiership) 1995-1996 Played 34 Scored 7 goals (Premiership) 1996-1997 Played 31 Scored 13 goals (Premiership) 1997-1998 Played 26 Scored 11 goals (Premiership) 1998-1999 Played 30 Scored 6 goals (Premiership) 1999-2000 Played 18 Scored 3 goals (Premiership) 2000-2001 Played 8 Scored 1 goal (Premiership) 2001-2002 Played 4 Scored 0 goals (Premiership)
  22. FWIW I think he is a very good player with a great deal of potential. His attitude appears to be a bit off at times but I honestly think that is young modern players in today’s game. Maybe an unjust comparison but he frustrates me in exactly the same manner and way MLT did in his early days. So if he has half as good a career as MLT then I and many of you lot certainly won't be complaining, well I am sure some of you still will be but hey ho!
  23. Am I the only one who is delighted that Lowe ****ed it up (allegedly) and we have a stadium in the city centre? OK we could be debt free with Stoneham but **** me who really wants a soulless out of town ground like Reading? Do you remember the buses to get back from the Madjeski this season? I know St Mary's is a far from perfect identikit stadium but give me its location rather than the outskirts of the city every time! Hale Rupert!
  24. By yours truly! On George Burley's appointment. 'He is the ideal man for the job and I think he will lead us to promotion. Surely there is no better manager available?'. I then danced my arse off with delight around my living room when I saw the article on the O\S. We all make gaffs but who cares! It would be nice if some of you would show a little humility and admit your own gaffs instead of chastising everyone else’s, or is everything you say all spot on?
