for 1 week in the 1988-1989 season we were top of division 1. We won our first 3 matches against West Ham (h) 4-0 QPR (a) 1-0 and Luton (h) 2-1. We then drew 2-2 away at Arsenal in the famous Paul Davis Glenn ****erill jaw breaking incident!

Why in one sentence are you saying here we go again and then in virtually every other trying to be clever to get a rise out of people? For once why don't you grow up and show some class? The club should and could have had a minute’s silence the fact they didn't is just a poor decision and a real shame. Poor decisions happen and I won't chastise them for it though. The real point here is well done Alan Pardew for recognising how the local community feel about this incident. I really feel he has a connection with the fans and local community and he offers so much more as a manager than just winning football matches. Long may his reign continue. RIP the two fire fighters who gave up their lives to save others. They may have 'just been doing their job' but they like many others such as other fire fighters and our forces in Afghanistan do it bravely, with humanity and with little thought for the danger they place themselves in. My sympathies are with their families at this time. Alan Bannon and James Shears heroes to the city of Southampton. R.I.P. Gentlemen.

1 for me please!

Beat Bristol Rovers on Tuesday. That is as far ahead as I am going to look. I did suggest Huddersfield would struggle to beat Brentford away as Brentford have been pretty strong in 2010. I am surprised at Colchester beating Swindon but technically we are no worse off with regarding the point’s target we have to chase. My thoughts are that we will have a very good idea if the miracle is on by about 21:30 on Tuesday 20th!

A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO THE FANS FOR YOUR SUPPORT................Not!

Exactly it defies belief that the club would revel so much in winning this trophy. It was a great day, we all wanted to win but now it's time to move on. Here is to 7 wins and 78 points and then we can really celebrate! -
HUDDERSFIELD: Oldham (H), Brentford (A), Walsall (H), Millwall (H), Stockport (A), Colchester (H), Exeter (A). Oldham and Walsall are the only games I think they are more than likely to win. Brentford Away is very tricky as we found out. Millwall is going to be tough for them as well. I can see Stockport and Exeter giving them problems at home. I do think they will win the Colchester match which I fear could seal it for them! One thing is for sure we have to win them all (maybe 1 draw) and there will be some surprises along the way. Charlton and Bristol Rovers are going to be very tricky games for us.

What will be very interesting is to see how close we are when Huddersfield host Colchester in the penultimate match. If we can get it down to 2-3 points before this game and then win away at Gillingham then I would really fancy our chances going into the last match. It is important to be ahead of Colchester going into the last match as I think they will beat Orient at home. Huddersfield's trip to Exeter will be pretty tricky though and I can see the home team taking at least a point!

So let me get this right he smokes then?
-
Sorry but you think Free Fall Leeds will finish 2nd? ROFL I think both Millwall and Swindon will now finish above Leeds!
-
We can catch Colchester but Charlton and Huddersfield winning is a massive blow! If it stays this way then I think our chances are less than 1%
-
If your buddy finds out what you are up to then I very much doubt you will be kept in the loop again. Total and utter foolishness!
-
I will admit to falling for it as I had no idea of today's date!

The 'How long until they bring out the JPT Final DVD' Sweepstake thread.

It may have been our first trophy in 34 years but we beat Carlisle in the least prestigious trophy in the English professional game. Crikey I enjoyed the day, loved winning the thing but it is hardly something to shout about and release a DVD of and watch over and over again is it? -
Richard Hammond's engineering connections on National Geographic Channel is well worth a watch. It gives you some idea as to some of the thought processes, why certain decisions were made, and how much certain aspects cost. http://www.natgeotv.com/uk/engineering-connections/videos/wembley-stadium I think the new Wembley is great. It has its faults but any stadium that size is bound to have some. I have seen Metallica and Muse live there, several England matches and now Saints in a cup final. I cannot wait for my next visit this May!

Anyone begrudging Stu a bit of 'pocket money' could always get off their arses and organise something themselves! Fair play to Stu and his coach sounds like a good day out and if I lived down that way I would certainly give them a try.

I do not get why anyone would want to pay a tenner to get into a place like this. There are plenty of pubs in London and whilst Wembley is not the best there were much better options there and on route. I think I would have rather consumed booze in the ground than pay to go into a dump like this!

Mexican Waves are not big or clever. I am pleased to say us posh gits in Club Wembley did not get involved! Get some class people!

I am in club Wembley as my girlfriend won tickets. It is the full corporate thing and is smart dress. I have to wear shoes and trousers which is a pain but I mussn't grumble!
-
So who's received their wembley tickets in the post yet?
Ewell replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
dune, do you have your tickets yet as I am gravely concerned. My fingernails are bitten down to the skin and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for your updates. Please keep us informed and updated with regard your current situation! -
Block 247 Row 13 Seats 241 & 242!
-
We have just got our competition prize and I am delighted to say the seats are in block 247 in the Saints end! We also have tickets for 'The Great Hall' suite at Wembley and our day consists of pretty much what Mattio posted above. Special thanks to the poster FSF (Football Supporters Federation) as without this post my girlfriend would not have entered this competition. The only down side is 'The Great Hall' is smart dress so no jeans, trainers or football shirts but I can gladly live without a footy shirt though as I don't own one!

Anyone who wears colours in an away end is asking for trouble, why bother?

Sympathies to the person with that terrible illness and I hope they recover fully and enjoy there day at Wembley, but are you telling me you cannot accommodate them within your batch of 18 or are you just looking for an excuse to have a moan? If you cannot accommodate them then I would speak with the ticket office but if you can well... -

Stop complaining at least you are going. As long as your party have one or two others for company and no one is sat on there own then what is the big deal? -
