Lamina was outstanding on Saturday. He reminded me of a hybrid cross between Big Vic and Schneiderlin. He was great at breaking up play, powerful in his runs and just didn't give the ball away. When he won it back he also took it cleanly without fouling the opponent. He really looks some player just a shame about his 2 bob haircut.

Oh and you have to ask why, he didnt deserve a chance, what the hell has he done to earn that place, **** all. A poor selection from the manager today.

He has been injured since January and not played a game in the entire pre-season, I would be stunned even if he made the bench, I give it a 1% chance which could become slightly higher if another CB got injured. I'd also add we have kept 2 clean sheets in 3 league games this season so its clear that defending isn't the main issue.

All he's shown so far is that he would be a decent 5 a side footballer. He is tactically clueless but he does have a role as an impact player, although as yet he has never grasped any of these opportunities so doesn't deserve anymore.

I'd have hoped the club would have told Liverpool that if they want VVD then they have to take Clasie first. He could come as the makeweight similarly to how the Lambert\Lallana deal panned out. For Liverpool Clasie would then be there to compete with Lucas as the shortest pile of crap in the clubs history so IMHO a good move all round.

Totally with you here, the best time supporting Saints since the early 80's under Lawrie. Personally I think VVD has to go now. I do not recall it dragging on as long with Morgan or Big Vic though I could be wrong. I also though Big Vic was poor that season although full credit to Morgan as he really knuckled down. Oh and one last thing Morgan and Big Vic were not the captain of the team and under a 5 year contract. VVD is going the same way as Fonte and I want him out asap.
