  1. Seriously? He may well still have potential and he may well turn into a star performer for us over a long period of time but if he left tomorrow there could be no way you could describe his signing as a 'success', in fact I would argue it is quite the opposite. The lad has had about 2 good matches and they were both at home. He has a lot to prove IMHO and at the moment he is not even a starter.
  2. Spot on, absolutely outstanding today and was up there with Rickie and Jack Cork for my MOM award. He got a lot of stick earlier this season and it is nice to see he has turned it around.

    Jack Cork

Brilliant player, top lad and was taught the right habits at the best school in Epsom.
  4. It would be nice if we could once again sing his chant properly before every match and after every goal he scores. We used to sing it united in support of this very special player. It was sung with gusto and passion and now half the stand either can't be arsed or are trying to sing something else, totally shameful really. Rickie Lambert, Southampton Legend and a man who will be remembered by me for a very long time after he retires. The man is class.
  5. I am just posing this as it has been fairly topical this week. In a relegation fight would you want a Christopher Samba or a Gaston Ramirez in your team? I know they are completely different positions and do completely different jobs but I thought I would pose it anyway. Samba for me, and a clean sheet for QPR yesterday.
  6. It wasn't worth any points!
  7. Pretty decent for someone who is essentially a decent player but essentially a one trick pony. He was never world class as many suggest.
  8. Yep, you also have Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham and Fulham all playing that could be broadcast internationally so not a chance I'd say.
  9. I would suspect that unless we are playing a London or one of the big teams that it is quite unlikely you would get the Saints match being shown unless the Landlord is a Saints fan or nobody else is playing at that time.
  10. Are you serious? If so this comment beggars belief!
  11. As much as I hate the red kit there are more important things to worry about. Put it this way it could be worse we could have done a Cardiff!
  12. Rickie if you do not score then Malvinas are ours!
  13. Mauricio woaaah Mauricio woaaah He came from Espanyol put Adkins on he dole
  14. Met him at functions and personally when he was a player on several occasions and he has never been anything other than a true gentleman who had time for anyone that wants to speak with them. I saw him spend hours signing autographs pre and post game at The Dell. He refused to leave until he signed every last one and it got him in trouble on a couple of occasions. The man has no ego at all and not true Saints fan would ever question him.
  15. I sent an email to Nigel through the LMA on Saturday morning and I had a reply from Sarah Collins today to say they were more than happy to pass my email on. Here is the email address I sent it to lma@lmasecure.com Well done for doing this, whatever your views on his sacking it really does not hurt to thank Nigel for two of the best years we have ever had as a football club.
  16. I am pretty sure he may get a couple of songs sung tomorrow night especially if we lose the game.
  17. Maybe you should try and look a bit harder instead of being such a drama queen which incidentally you have been accusing everyone else of being since events unfolded on Friday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21084754

    Paul merson

    I agree with Merson 100%
  19. I would honestly love to meet Nigel, shake his hand and thank him for 3 wonderful years. He is up there with the very best of Saints managers and will always be respected and missed by me. Ted Bates, Lawrie McMenemy, Gordon Strachan and Nigel Adkins. All managers who have done us proud.
  20. Are you really? The ones I thought would roll over are exactly those that are. All they give a **** about is success on the pitch and not that a great man and a more importantly a great manager has been shafted by that little **** of a chairman. What do we actually stand for as fans of our football club. Chelsea are showing they have more arsehole than we will ever have. We should protest and make our feelings known and not accept the chairman making crazy rash decisions like this. I honestly hope we go down now. One Nigel Adkins.
  21. Lets hope so and I will drive him there myself!
  22. I have no idea if it has made this thread as I cannot be bothered to trawl back through it but a movie I saw at the cinema last summer is 'The Imposter' which is a a fantastic documentary style movie. Whatever you do go in blind as the more you know about the story the less the effect of the film will have on you.
  23. Sideways, stumbled across it on TV and it is a brilliant comedy.
  24. If that penalty was given against us then this forum would be going into meltdown with 99% of the fans fuming about the decision, the player and the way the player went down. I honestly don't think Rodriguez has dived intentionally and I think he has gone down expecting the challenge which didn't come into contact with him. It was never a penalty and I hate the fact people say they even themselves out, they really don't as we should have had at least 4 others this season. I am delighted we won yesterdays match but winning it with that goal leaves me feeling a bit uncomfortable and feeling a little sorry for a very young Aston Villa team.
  25. In a relegation battle you need to try and take at least 4 points off your relegation rivals and a draw at Villa Park would give us that total. If we do not get beaten then it would be a good result and if we win then a real bonus.
