  1. I was just about to say it will be interesting to see how Tadic and Shaqiri match up today what with the various rumours. Also why the hell did Saints not take a punt on Mitrovic rather than Carillo? He links with Tadic superbly and funnily enough has a similar style to Graziano Pelle.
  2. Exhibit 1, Harry Kane. Leyton Orient (loan) 2010–11[177] League One 18 5 Millwall (loan) 2011–12[178] Championship 27 9 Norwich City (loan) 2012–13[179] Premier League 5 0 Leicester City (loan) 2012–13[179] Championship 15 2
  3. Martín Caceres playing at left full back for Uruguay! Whatever happened to him?
  4. Agreed, this thread has turned into a complete joke! It's a shame as the subject of safe standing is a very interesting one that needs debating.
  5. What this daily echo reader said! The sooner Kruger goes the better IMHO. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/16237616.READER_LETTER__Here_are_six_reasons_Ralph_Krueger_needs_to_go/
  6. This. You only have to look at Harry Kane in north London to see what can happen when you give a youngster a chance and it just clicks and he has grabbed it with both hands. It is also not like there was anything in Kane's prior loans to suggest he would be the player he is now. You only know when you give these lads a proper chance and if Gallagher has a 1\2 of the ability of Kane then he will be a far better player than Austin and Carillo!
  7. The man fits into 1000 words what could be said in two sentences. It's just complete public speaking bull**** and the sooner this man leaves the club the better. To say he is clueless is understatement of the year.

    Play offs

I would love Fulham to come up as they are a localish side and I have plenty of mates that support them so would be great for them and their kids. I am also an anyone but Derby camp, i'll never forgive them for the goading after the 2007 playoffs.
  9. I think this Sam Byram of West Ham could be a decent loan\perm signing. His career at West Ham seems to have stalled and he has plenty of championship experience with over 130 games for Leeds United. He is also potentially a premier league player if we manage to get back up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Byram
  10. I've said it since the first time I saw him play for us, he is a 5aside player, just full of flicks and attempted tricks that are high risk and often done in the wrong areas. He has no place in any Premier league football team.
  11. This, the squad has no balance at all. I would be fairly happy with the likes of Alex McCarthy, Maya Yoshida, James Ward-Prowse and Matt Targett staying as well as the other young lads from the academy being given a chance to prove themselves as good enough. We do need a proper clear out whatever division we are in. We have signed some absolute rubbish the past couple of years.
  12. I think a better comparison would be Brighton or Bournemouth.
  13. Nail on head and how many of us feel I suspect.
  14. I agree. I may be in the minority but I actually think this is a winnable game and we can win if we just pick the right side. JWP has to start for his set pieces alone. If I see Tadic take another powder puff drifted corner ill personally break his knee caps.
  15. If you want your kids\gand kids to grow up in a winning only culture then yes, get them to support a team like Man City and the like. The majority will never see their heroes live in the flesh, identify with people in the city they live in and experience the highs and lows of following the team and can identify with. They also wont make the countless friends I have made following Saints up and down the country, I have some wonderful memories and I personally wouldn't change a thing. Some of you are forgetting how special the rise up the leagues has been and I wouldn't swap the last 10 years with any other club, 2 promotions, 2 European adventures, a league cup final, now an FA cup semi final on the horizon. Stop being such utter melts, grow a pair and do something we keep criticising the players for, stand up and FIGHT (ie support) for the last 7 league games!
  16. Yeah, I can see where you went with this. As soon as I think of Mark Hughes and Guido Carrillo then Saido Berahino immediately jumps straight into my head. They are exactly the same type of players and obviously have similar attributes, that's not even to mention their attitude to playing the professional game.
  17. Post of 2018 so far. Why not get the facts right instead o believing on the bull**** on Twitter and all the other made up sources people love to believe! Well done that man!
  18. If this lad has something (which I haven't seen yet) then maybe learning and developing his game off one of the best hold up strikers to have played the game is no bad thing.
  19. Yep, I honestly do not understand why some people completely refuse to apportion any blame in her direction. There is no doubt that she has played a big part in the failings of the club this past two years. Yes she carries the name Liebherr and for a period of time she did OK by us, but I saw that as more of protecting her inheritance and receiving maximum value from it. At no point during the sale to these Chinese owners has she protected her fathers legacy.
  20. I think you're spot on with this comment. I really don't want to dig out a young player and particularly one I like and who I am glad is in the team. Josh Sims actually said this on his MOTD interview on Saturday night. I could only cringe at the arrogance of it, even if you believe it you do not say that on national TV. I just hope it does not come back and bite the poor young lad on the arse.
  21. Absolute bull****, Nathan Redmond looked dangerous and had a decent game. Some fans have made their minds up though as there has to be a fool guy in the team.
  22. A fair few cockney reds used to drink in my parents pub in Epsom and they always had great pleasure in telling me how many Southampton fans they had bashed up in the coach park after the 76 final. This may have been an exaggeration but knowing these characters I wouldn't have been surprised if it was true. Having read a fair amount on the subject, Man U and the cockney reds in particular did have a fearsome reputation in the 70's but I wasn't old enough to know if these stories are true.
  23. Yet one of your examples Ryan Bertrand who plays a similar role and position has 3, all from open play as well if I am not mistaken. Cedric's final ball and delivery have been abysmal this season.
  24. Cup win all day long. Then claim the championship trophy that we should have won in 2012.
