A decent goal against Reading but other than that one of the most over rated players I have ever had the privilege of seeing in a Saints shirt.
  2. You are what you eat and if you east **** then you will love places like this. The best way to save money is to shop little and often and don;t buy in bulk which you end up throwing a fair amount of it away every time. If we all were a little less wasteful then you would find you have a few more quid in your pocket too. I would also add find a good butcher, green grocer or market where prices are probably not as bad as you expect and the quality is a million times better. If you can also go to the effort of growing your own veg then there is even more cash to be saved.
  3. It doesn't put us top though does it which was the point of the thread!
  4. What a load of rubbish. No match in the Premier league is easy. Granted some matches look more daunting than others but going to any teams ground in the Premier League and winning is very tough. In fact Saints have made a habit of winning the matches against the top teams but blowing it against the so call smaller sides. QPR and West Brom at home under Pochettino come to mind and there are many other examples of this before he was in charge. If you also look at the results we got in the respective fixtures against the teams we play in the first 5 matches (wont include match 6 Crystal Palace for obvious reasons) then I think we got no more than a couple of points last season. There are some barmy views on this site and a few of you will be bitterly disappointed when we get a 2 or 3 of draws and at least one defeat in our first 6 matches.
  5. You have a knack of saying things like this with such humility. It must be wonderful to live in a utopian world where everything you do is perfect.
  6. I cannot see too many wanting to have a beer with you though. Please all learn from my mistake its not worth it! Alpine as Torres and Nike say, just do it! There are many good people on these forums and at least you know you have one thing in common so you should not get stuck for a subject to talk about.
  7. I cannot understand why anyone would get upset at the result of a pre season match. To add to that we played almost two different sides each half and both sides were made up of players that will start complimented with backups for next season. So essentially by no means did we have our strongest side out in either half. The above shows that Pochettino see's the match as purely a fitness exercise against very decent opposition otherwise why else would he not put out the strongest team available to him? Pre season is about gaining fitness, implementing ideas and establishing a pattern of play. The results are secondary.
  8. Key point: Ignore those who have purchased a full membership as the majority just love the sound of their own voices and have far too much to say for themselves with very little of it having any interest. We all know who they are, boring, tedious, unfunny are just 3 words that spring to mind.

    Lukaku

On SKY sports news in the past hour saying he has had talks with JM and will be staying put to fight for his place this season. Next...
  10. My favourite Benali tackle was done on Steve Bruce of Manchester United who was harmlessly shepherding the ball out of play on a SKY Monday night football match in the mid 90's. Franny was not having any of that and went steaming in taking man and ball from behind throwing Bruce up in the air and then dumping him on his arse on the touchline. Benali and Bruce's faces were a picture. I think United went onto win the game 1-0 with a Dion Dublin goal if I am not mistaken.
  11. Are you sure? Some people on these Foreen love in threads are looking rather silly now.
  12. All those putting Forren in their starting XI's for this season are looking extremely silly now. Good luck to Chappers, a good honest pro who served as well and was an integral part in getting us to the Premier League. I will him all the best for the rest of his career.
  13. Talking good sense like that will not win you many brownie points around here.
  14. Well after my comment above I can confirm I got a 'friend request' from Glasgow Saint so this suggests he is a friend collector. Very bizarre!
  15. I have no idea who you are or what you are alleged to have said but if all your posts are like this then I cannot blame the majority for thinking your a bit of a fool.
  16. Sounds about right and that is what concerns me.
  17. All from the same original source. It looks like Spurs fans will be ****ed if we nab him so for that alone he is good enough for me. http://www.cartilagefreecaptain.com/2013/6/29/4476514/leandro-damiao-tottenham-hotspur-transfer-rumours http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/southampton/transfer-talk/news/saints-submit-damiao-offer_91137.html http://www.sambafoot.com/en/news/49181_leandro_damiao_linked_to_southampton_-_report.html http://www.insidefutbol.com/2013/06/28/southampton-make-offer-for-tottenham-hotspur-target-leandro-damiao/90613/

But Mayuka was in a publications top 100 players in the world and he has brilliant stats on football manager. When he signed for my Saints team we won the premier league followed by the champions league so I say give him a chance on this info alone. WTF do Adkins and Pochettino know anyway.
  19. I have done all the Premier League grounds now other than Swansea. Annoyingly I had to play in a top of the league clash which was effectively a title decider for my Saturday afternoon Vets team. I scored that day in a 1-1 draw but we lost the league on goal difference so I wish I had gone to Swansea now! It all depends on the fixtures and dates for my matches but I will probably do a fair amount of the Saturday aways on the weeks I am not playing football.
  20. This, and particularly the so called big clubs. Their fans just expect to turn up, score a few goals and take an easy 3 points off little old Southampton at home. When this doesn't happen they start hammering there keyboards and put their phones on speed dial to 5 live and talk sport and have a good moan at why they lost, drew or only just beat little Southampton. We will never have the respect from the majority of the big clubs supporters because 90% of their fans are ignorant morons.
  21. Ticket Sold.
  22. I do. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?44654-Spurs-Ticket-Available
  23. I wont be at the game so it will need collecting from SM7 Banstead. I am just a few miles up the A217 off the M25 for anyone driving up so not too big a detour. Price is face value. I am only a registered user so please email me on and we can discuss details and exchange numbers if interested. Thanks
  24. Forgive me for being ignorant but I never had Southampton down as a music city. I would love to know anyone who was there and has views on the scene and some of the bands mentioned here. I am particularly interested in the venues they used to play as Southampton has never seemed to have too many. Does anyone own this CD and is it worth picking up for a few quid? I am by no means a huge punk fan but I like the mainstream stuff and of course bands like the clash. I was born in 73 so obviously any scene back then passed me by but it’s nice to know there was a big musical scene in the city where I was born. Any views from those in the know and back in the day would be nice to hear. http://louderthanwar.com/boredom-city-southampton-punk-1977-to-82-album-review/
  25. The fact we only have a couple of decent songs really doesn't help. I don't think we have come up with anything decent since the Lambert song and in fairness that is now sung a lot more quietly than it used to be.
