  1. James Ward-Prowse is giving a central midfield masterclass, he is Englands Xavi. Keep him in central midfield in the first team and build it around him he is a class act.
  2. The link to all Premier League squads in case anyone is interested. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/sep/premier-league-squad-lists-201314.html
  3. I agree entirely, I just can't see th changing it but that's not to say they shouldn't.
  4. The problem is championship clubs and below cannot afford to pay the wages of premier league players. I do fully agree that the current system sucks but this has been going on for over 10 years now and I cannot see them changing it.
  5. I fully agree with Telfer who was Strachan's Mr reliable. I would also add to the list Gerry Forest who for some reason I thought was great as a teenager.
  6. I agree with this he is an under-rated player and I honestly do not think he should have lost his place in the side from last season to a new big money signing. Whatever happened to the new guy having to force his way into the team. Did Jack Cork do anything wrong last year, no, he and Morgan were just about the best part of our team!

    Howard Webb

Take your own chances and Howard Webb's lack of ability to see a stonewall penalty is inconsequential. We need to look closer to home to see the real issues in the team and that starts with the manager and team selection.
  8. Maybe John Boy Saint was just looking to see if other people felt the same, which it seems a lot on here don't. John Boy Saint was probably wrong to come onto a message board of Southampton football fans who regularly visit the stadium and may possibly use the facilities he is talking about. How dare he share his views on this public forum. You trolls must start to try harder as you are just very boring now.
  9. Perfectly summed up from what I have just witnessed on sky sports game of the day.
  10. Bearsy, love it, keep up the good work.
  11. I don't think any one with even the smallest amount of intelligence would disagree with your point particularly given who this player is, who he plays for and who he has been linked with. All I would say though is you made your point about 20 posts ago so why do you just keep going on about it? We know what you think, some people disagree with you but like you that's there opinion so move on.
  12. Not for winning against a team we lost to twice last season. Not for winning on the opening day of the season which we have only managed to do once in 14 years before today. No I am very proud because we are bucking the trend by fielding 4 home grown English players produced in our Academy for our first team. It takes some guts to do that especially when 3 of them are just 18 years old. Hats off to Mauricio Pochettino for having the balls to play them and to Nicola Cortese for having this wonderful vision for our club.
  13. A few days ago there were a few Saints fans on this forum saying we should replace him, ****ing mugs! Well done Rickie SFC Legend.
  14. I am a lucky one who has a decent salary, no dependants or commitments other than paying my mortgage on a house I purchased within the last year. I don't live in Southampton so I have to factor in cost of train fair or driving usually on my own. All this being the case getting a seaaon ticket probably isn't an option as I still play Saturday football but getting to the point I don't feel comfortable paying over £30 per game but I have often stretched to around £40 per match. Over that unless it is a cup final or a match of huge significance then I would leave it.
  15. Some direct quotes from the player here who seems desperate to play for 'the right club' in the Premier League. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2013/08/11/arsene-wenger-admired-cheikhou-kouyate-sends-out-come-and-get-me-premier-league-plea-with-newcastle-and-southampton-lurking/94830/
  16. The best money we have ever spent on ANY footballer and I do not say that lightly. There is no doubt that others have contributed in the last 4 years but had we not signed this lad I honestly don't think we would have got to the Premier League as quickly as we have. He is a Southampton legend and he is up there with the best that have ever played for us.
  17. Although the development of this lad may be the reason why Fox has not been replaced or moved on yet. The club may be expecting Targett to develop rapidly as Shaw has done and that being the case they see no point in signing anyone else and will make do with Fox as cover until Targett is ready. Chambers pushing for a first team spot has also helped and gives the option of Clyne at left back if Shaw is out. In any case Fox's days are numbered and in my opinion that is most definitely a good thing. Of course I could be completely wrong.
  18. That requires moderation and an agreed policy which we all know there is very little of on here.
  19. JWP is the nearest thing to Carrick we have and he should be developed, nurtured and cherished as he is going to be a top player for us.
  20. The amount of people who don't rate Carrick is astonishing. He is a top player who just doesn't give the ball away.

    Livid

Some of you are right arseholes.
  22. They set targets similar to those where I work, hence why we don't achieve them often either.
  23. Pretty much although only 2 teams those being Manchester United 1st and Chelsea 3rd scored 75 Premier League goals last season. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_Premier_League For info Saints got 49.
  24. I truly hate reading comments like yours and I am hearing comments like this far too often at the moment and I have to say like yours they are a load of tosh. We need a striker to compliment Rickie and so we are able to rest Rickie from time to time. To Replace Rickie would be suicidal as he is pivotal to how we play and still our most influential player.
  25. Well said Alpine and spot on. It amazes me whenever I hear saints fans wanting to replace him with calls of he is not quick enough and has little pace. He doesn't need it he is that good a footballer. We would be a much worse team without him but granted he does need some competition for his place and to be rested once in a while.
