He was jaw droppingly brilliant on Saturday and his ability to find the runs of Lallana and Jay Rod was a delight to watch. Rickie does not need pace he just needs willing runners with a bit of pace around him. I know there is little room for sentiment in football but I say **** that sometimes there is. **** the money Rickie should retire at Saints as Kelvin will. He is a modern day SFC legend.

Yep I missed that and if I am honest I thought I may get one or two wrong and was waiting to be MLG'd

By my calculations when Osvaldo leaves and if no one else comes in we do still have 23 players in our first team squad. We are quite light on experience but we do have it in all key areas and through the spine of the team. The only problem I can see is if we have a mass of injuries to key or experienced players then we are going to look very light. Some would say that is the same for most teams. GK - Boruc, Davis, Gazzaniga Def - Fonte, Lovren, Yoshida, Hooiveld, Clyne, Shaw, Chambers Mid - Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Cork, Davis, Lallana, Ramirez, Ward-Prowse, Do Prado, Isgrove, Reed Fwd - Lambert, Rodriguez, Gallagher As much as I would love another forward I think the squad looks fairly well balanced and I think the management are doing the right thing by not signing players in a panic just to bolster the numbers. It's surely better to get the right players next summer and in the meantime give those coming through the Academy an opportunity to stake a claim.

I thought we played very well particularly in the first half. Luke Shaw and Morgan Schneiderlin were outstanding and young Gallagher looks a decent prospect. He just needs a bit more experience which will come in time.

My first Saints hero. I just loved the little fella.:adore:

Not too shabby an effort wouldn't you say Danielson? Oh and she isn't lucky enough to be my wife!
-
He wont. Apparently the tube in the picture is connected to some sort of control device and a reservoir that sets the amount of compression and the duration the iced water is pumped round the injury.
-
No it gives compression and pumps ice cold water around the injury.

The GF is a Physio and from the picture the first think she said was a likely lateral ligament has gone which in some cases can take longer to heal than a clean break. She did say there could be a possible dislocation but in fairness she has only seen 1 photograph.
-
I could say the same about you Shiela.

Are you a little bit thick? Do you think Michu didn't get a huge signing on fee or a very decent pay check to come to The Premier League?
-
Getting this lad for 1.6 million could be a bigger bargain than Swansea City nabbing Michu for 2 million. Yes please.
-
Yep fingers and toes crossed for them. I hope the kiddies don't have nightmares as that isn't nice viewing.

A great win against a decent and in form West Brom side. From what I could see of the game on the net it was a close and competitive contest of which we had the better of with regards possession and chances. I think West Brom are a better side than there league position suggests and getting 6 points from them this season is a fantastic return.

On conclusion then my fears were right and we really do struggle to produce decent centre halves. It appears that we have got close with Mills\Cranie but not had a lot since. Prior to that we had some decent ones come through in patches particularly late 80's early 90's but very few went on to carve out a career with Saints. This really is an area we could do better and I hope the current Under 21's and academy prospects can step up to the plate in the future.
-
Whilst I think we all agree that Saints need another decent central defender can anyone actually remember the last decent one we brought through our academy? I know centre halves tend to mature later in years but this does seem to be an area where we need to work on our development and recruitment. On a second note how do people rate the young central defenders we currently have in the under 21 and academy sides. Do we think that any of them are close to the a call up to the first team squad? If not will any of them make the grade eventually? It really does interest me why we tend to produce good full backs and midfielders but there does seem to have been a lack of centre halves come through.

Maybe we should look to sign big Vic's brother McDonald Mariga as cover for Vic when he is injured?
-
Where is he going as I don't mind driving him there if that helps push through the deal!

Your thread title could make a decent song if there are any lyrical geniuses in the house! Don't cry for me Argentina The truth is I never left you All through my wild days My mad existence I kept my promise Don't keep your distance

I just knew we would lose this one as it had all the hallmarks. The fans and the players seem to think we just have to turn up to beat a side like Villa, WRONG!
-
There are usually plenty of Touts at The Emirates but you are more likely to get a ticket in the Arsenal end.

Well this may have slipped under a lot of people's radar because it was on BBC4 so I thought I would bring it to the forum's attention in the hope that it may change the mind of at least one person in deciding not to visit Sea World. It is quite upsetting and fairly shocking in how a huge American corporation are willing to cover up fatalities and point the blame at the innocent trainers that work for them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03j49l6/Storyville_20132014_Blackfish_The_Whale_that_Killed/

I have no problem with the ticket office saying you have to be on the database to buy tickets particularly when they fear away fans may purchase in our end. My only problem with this is the new ruling of having to have purchased a ticket on your customer number in the last two years. As a foreign fan you may not be able get over every year which is understandable. I think this new ruling is ill though out, surely if you have a ticket purchase history from 2-4 seasons ago when we were in league 1 or the championship then you are not likely to be a Man City fan. I just feel the rule has been brought in to try and force people to attend more often which is fine for those of us like me based in the UK but for a foreign supporter like most on this thread it is a complete joke. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/ticket-bulletin-13112013-1171832.aspx I have helped Andy Durman get tickets for the City game and I would encourage others to do the same if they can as it must be horrible to think you are back in the country and you cannot get a ticket to see the team you love play. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?47632-HELP!!!!!!!!-Home-Match-V-Man-City
