True, It will be great for NATO to weaken Russia and a brilliant for our arms industry to showcase their kit but a lengthy war of attrition would be devastating for the people of Ukraine. The Ukraine forces are doing well but I’m not sure they will be able to push the Russians all the way back and out of Crimea. Plus Putin seems to be the type of guy who would rather drop a nuke on Kiev than lose the war. Hopefully Ukraine can do enough damage to trigger the Russians to get rid of Putin, that’s the best they can hope for IMO.

Sooner or later it will end with the two countries talking and agreeing some sort of cease-fire. Ukraine have every right to fight for all their land including the Crimea but it may come to a point where they think it's better to come to an agreement to avoid years of bloodshed. Whatever happens, having leaders from around the world talking to Putin and trying to find a solution has to be a positive because a war of attrition v Russia is not a great prospect.

The leader of France can't hand over Ukrainian land to anyone, he's just trying to get the two countries to stop fighting. The US were also in talks with Russia with the same aim. The more talking the better even if it is in vain.

How dare they try and stop a war.

Or maybe the performance of those before him shows he is actually a good manager? I think he deserves a season after actually having some decent investment, I wouldn’t be surprised if the new owners have their own guy lined up tho.

So you would send any male Ukrainian refugees to Rwanda?

What’s the difference between someone fleeing a war zone in Ukraine and someone fleeing Syria. Surely they all have to be treated the same?

That just says it had a “general approach” not “to take retrospective action”. Do you have a link to where they say they will not issue any? -

They said: "It is our policy not to routinely investigate retrospective breaches of the Covid-19 regulations.” -

Because they might think it’s in the public interest to do so, just like the MET did. -

The MET don't routinely investigate retrospective breaches of the Covid-19 regulations either. -

I think a lot of people just assume that all politicians are the same though. -
I think he's pretty much spot on, except for mentioning Bertrand. I thought we would probably go down this season as well to be honest.

You said 'any game under Ralph' - I just picked one for you.

What, like when we beat Spurs away?

If he's broken the rules then Starmer should resign. Whilst being infinitely better than Corbyn he is a bit of a dour personality and very wooden in front of the camera. Labour could benefit from having a new leader (depending on who they replace him with) and set an example of what a leader with any integrity should do. -

This. The whole system is just out of date and not fit for purpose. Any system that gives us a choice between Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the country is just fucked. -
Maybe. But whoever he chose would not have been as good as the Palace striker who got the winner. I expect Ivan Toney will be better than whoever he picks on Saturday. No Premier League manager WANTS to pick Shane Long. I expect he started because Ralph thought Armstong is out of his depth and Broja obviously can't be arsed because he will be back at Chelsea soon.
-
Maybe. Or maybe they are all not good enough.
-
It obviously depends on what sort of financial backing he gets from the new owners doesn't it. I don't think our squad is a good as many seem to think. Saturday we started with a striker that couldn't even get into Bournemouth's team last year - maybe Ralph is doing a decent job with shit resources?
-
Makes sense. There is a whole load of shite in our squad that is just not good enough, it needs a right shake up, especially in attack. We are obviously going to lose Broja, plus Walcott, Long, Djenepo and Redmond are all dead wood.
