I cannot believe they are still freezing Skacel out, even half fit he would be better than that shower of ****e today. Even if he does get appearance money it's surely worth paying if the alternative is relegation - we simpley can't afford to throw away any points.
-
If we lose today we are seriously in the **** - I would say we go from possible to probable on the relegation meter.
-
A good idea as long as it's done sensibly and doesn't result in relegation. In my opinion you should always play your best team regardless of age, if you are leaving out a better player just because you hope the kid will develop and be worth more you are asking for trouble.
-
I don't disagree with what you said, except for the lose games part. We are not in a situation where we can afford to lose any more games than we have to because relegation will screw up any long term plan we have in place. Every single point is worth it's weight in gold this season. Balance the books and consolidate our position should be the only plan for this season then we can move on from there. Do you think it would be wise for Stoke City to implement a long term plan to get in the UEFA Cup at the expense of league points?
-
In our position winning is the only thing that matters. If failure didn't mean certain administration and starting next season on -10/15 in league 1 then we could maybe afford to be fussy about what we watch.
-
It's still making a commitment to pay £1m, something you wouldn't do on the verge of admin.
-
I have to admit, if I didn't have a season ticket I couldn't see myself forking out £25 or whatever for a ticket to go last night. I don't think it's just the poor results or the fact that were watching kids, it's more the fact that it appears we are being force-fed a Lowe experiment that makes it so off putting. If it was a chairman we trusted, and a manager we respected putting the same team out fans would be more inclined to be loyal IMO.
-
One option would be for Lowe and Wilde to pay for the above out of their own pocket. Could actually be a prudent move on their part considering relegation would mean administration and them getting zero for their shares.
-
I don't think Cardiff were that good, Derby certainly wont be anywhere near the promotion spots and I didn't think QPR were great. We have played one good team IMO. It will be interesting to see how they respond tomorrow and Saturday.
-
Legod you are the one who usually says "anyone can beat anyone in this league". Birmingham were the only decent side out of them IMO.

Dumb thread, Lowe hasn't put a penny in. He's paid to do a job so is open to criticsm. -
The fact that you use Bristol City and Swansea to illustrate success more than proves my point. They are probably two clubs of similar size as portsmouth - but without a mega rich backer. Both these clubs who are both over achieving probably will be denied a place in the Prem by a worse run club that has a backer or a ton of Sky's parachute money. Without serious money there will always be a limit to what we can achieve.
-
It will be great WHEN their house of cards goes tumbling down, that Gaydamak would not think twice about selling them down the river. BUT it is certainly not a warning about selling off the club, at the worst they will just be back to where they were when Madric bought them, they were skint and had nothing to lose anyway. I would certainly rather have a dodgy rich owner who could pull the plug at any minute than just be eternally rubbish and skint. Without a rich backer you are, and can achieve nothing nowadays.

I'd be happy to watch the kids try hard and fail if failing didn't mean relegation and administration leading to -10 points and possible League 2 the season after. The whole future of our club is on the line, go down and **** knows what will be sold off? The Stadium and Staplewood will be at risk, the much prized acadamy will be history. Winning is everything IMO. -
Anything less than 4 points will be a bad return IMO, Ipswich are not great away from home and if we can't beat Barnsley we have serious problems. We have already handed 3 points to our relegation rivals Blackpool, we can't afford any more slip ups against "easy" teams.
-
Guthrie was a great player for us, if it wasn't for him we would have got nowhere near the playoffs that season. He was just frustrated, no surprise for a young kid in that atmosphere.

Actually at Dunkirk we got shat on and ran away so that's not a great example, it was the Battle of Britain where we stood up to the Krauts. We didn't just rely on young kids to pilot the planes either, we used some classy foreign imports from Poland and experienced pilots as well. -
Why do you keep banging on about what he said, fact is Crouch was not in charge when the descisions were made that put is in the poo. Is it really that hard to understand? Lowe's mate Wilde and his execs made virtually all the descisions.
-
Typical of today's legal system, scum like him should be behind bars. A ban from football matches and unpaid work - takes the ****, that is not a punishment.
-
And we woud probably be in League 1.
-
I'm far from Crouch's biggest fan but virtually all of the over spending happend with Lowe's mate Wilde in charge, Crouch only over saw the post Xmas period where he made unpopular descisions like loaning out Rasiak and Skacel and also brought in loanies like Wright, Perry and Lucketti that probably saved the club from relegation and certain financial meltdown. Wilde and his execs were the ones who really ****ed up.
-
Stupid challenge, deserved to go IMO.
-
I'm sorry but the Blackpool team that beat us last time have less resources.
-
I thought Cork did OK, it was putting in an kid on his debut alongside that was the problem. Rediculous descision when you have Perry sat on the bench.
