  1. Actually at Dunkirk we got shat on and ran away so that's not a great example, it was the Battle of Britain where we stood up to the Krauts. We didn't just rely on young kids to pilot the planes either, we used some classy foreign imports from Poland and experienced pilots as well.
  2. Why do you keep banging on about what he said, fact is Crouch was not in charge when the descisions were made that put is in the poo. Is it really that hard to understand? Lowe's mate Wilde and his execs made virtually all the descisions.
  3. Typical of today's legal system, scum like him should be behind bars. A ban from football matches and unpaid work - takes the ****, that is not a punishment.
  4. And we woud probably be in League 1.
  5. I'm far from Crouch's biggest fan but virtually all of the over spending happend with Lowe's mate Wilde in charge, Crouch only over saw the post Xmas period where he made unpopular descisions like loaning out Rasiak and Skacel and also brought in loanies like Wright, Perry and Lucketti that probably saved the club from relegation and certain financial meltdown. Wilde and his execs were the ones who really ****ed up.
  6. Stupid challenge, deserved to go IMO.
  7. I'm sorry but the Blackpool team that beat us last time have less resources.
  8. I thought Cork did OK, it was putting in an kid on his debut alongside that was the problem. Rediculous descision when you have Perry sat on the bench.
  9. Complete ******, there was absolutely no need for a Dutch total football experiment.
  10. Agree, he was man of the match but thought he could have come out for the first.
  11. If we continue with this "experience doesn't matter" attitude we are screwed.
  12. I can't believe what I read on here sometimes, if we go down this season, or next we will almost certainly go into administration and start the following season on -10/15pts which could very realisticly see us in league 2 the next season. The very existance of the club is in threat - and you would turn down a mega rich owner because you don't like the way he speaks or what he does in his spare time?!? ****ing nuts
  13. eeerrrr, different playing staff?
  14. Blimey, this has gone on too long. This sort of conversation can only happen on an internet message board. "Give 110%" is just something foootball managers say, it's just a figure of speach, every manager I played for said it at least once, it just means try really hard.
  15. Of course our situation meant our choice of manager was restricted, every club in the World (except maybe a few) has restrictions on who they can hire. I personally would have kept Pearson, failing that hired someone with a record of success on a budget who knows the league inside out, maybe a young manager from the lower leagues or a Micky Adams/Cotterill type. I certainly wouldn't worry about playing open attractive football, or try and use the first team for showcasing the Acadamy, I would use youngsters when they were definately ready and there's absolutely no other alternative. That's just my opinion.
  16. nickh what don't you understand? A) Cutting costs and selling some players - no choice B) Blooding some kids - no choice C) Deciding which players to sell/bring in - some choice D) Choosing a manager - lots of choices Get C and D wrong and were going down.
  17. That's a loser's mentality, a winner says **** that, I'm gonna find a bigger glass.
  18. yeah just like that, but you need a bigger glass otherwise it will spill all over the floor and that aint good.
  19. I'm not desputing the fact that we needed to make cut-backs and blood alot of kids, we would have had to have done that regardless of who was in charge. It's the whole experimental system and Dutch total football thing where we had plenty of choices over. It's too early to say if it will be a success or not but I am concerned. Will we improve or will the honeymoon wear off?
  20. He could have taken the bull by the horns and kept Pearson or hired a manager with experience of the Championship.
  21. He's done better so far that I expected, but I had very low expectations. This season could easily turn into a horror show, I can't help feeling the manager and youngsters are in a honeymoon period, running on adrenalin/enthusiasm alone. Most of our players have played out of their skin so far yet we could be bottom tonight - that's the worrying thing. I am very often wrong tho.
  22. The reason I was impressed by Pearson was that he took on a very hard job, we were in free fall and he was fire-fighting from day 1. For a rookie I thought it was a very good achievement to keep us up. He looked to me like he was improving and making better descisions with every match.
  23. So what, maybe he could have got players like Euell playing better than players like Holmes?
  24. Yeah about 10% more
  25. I'd prefer it if he still posted to be honest. He was obviously being fed rubbish but at least with Fitzhugh you got honest posts, he said what he heard and gave an idea of the source. Everyone hears all sorts of rumours and this is the best place to say what you've heard, it's all the cloak and dagger pretending to be ITK crap which ruins it. When there is no hidden agenda or attention seeking you don't mind if it doesn't turnout to be true.
