Surely we must be able to cover the tax bill, we could flog that farm and the Staplewood dome etc for starters?
-
Exactly, it was obvious Pearson had potential, the job he took on was a very hard job (as Dodd and Gorman showed) he had zero time to build his own team, he was basically fire-fighting. What he achieved as a relative rookie was very good. Another thing that is overlooked is the fact that his fixtures were not easy, particularly having to get results at West Brom away and Sheffield Utd at home.

If the Lowe/Poortvleit combo is still in place I have no desire to go the next game, and I have a season ticket. I' just don't think it's fair on the kids to be put in that situation, it's hard enough making the jump from academy football without having the handicap of a manager who hasn't a faintest idea of what the league is about.
-
The bottom line is I think you can trust Crouch to do what he thinks is best for the club.
-
Dodd and Gorman turned out to be ****e but it's a bit harsh to criticise Crouch over it, he only let them take charge of 4-5 games after Burley did a runner. It made sense to give them a crack at no extra cost while a new manager was being found. The only thing Crouch has done wrong is believe Wilde's lies about investment.

Curbishly & Pardew are on the dole.
-
He added: "I think we have to work even harder, because I think it's a fight." He "thinks" it's a fight, I dispair I really do. This guy really is clueless.
-
I agree they are pathetic, but not as pathetic as the gimps on here who thought they were rejecting the SISU deal for the good of the club. "it's right for Coventry but not for us" was a ****** many came out with, now a few months later we probably face being in a worse position than Coventry ever were.
-
If that was the case then we would sell/loan out, then use whatever money we get to bring in the new players. If the bank were making the decisions I doubt they would spend money we didn't have in the hope that someone wants to buy one of our players.
-
Surely if money was that tight we wouldn't have been able to bring in two new players and sign Smith perminantly. Or maybe the bank manager didn't rate Skacel at left back and thought Smith was a cracking player so what the hell?...

Wouldn't surprise me if Boothroyd is lined up - Woodward connection and all.

Lowe could salvage the situation, he just has to admit he was wrong, sack Poortvleit, apologise to the fans and appoint a decent manager. If the team look like they are turning it around the Lowe out aggro will stop.

List of crazyness that has happened with lowe in charge
aintforever replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
And he boasted that we had a comparible turnover to Aston Villa and Celtic, a top 10 club in the richest league in the World - and he gambled the whole lot on Sturrock ... then Wigley! -

Still a pointless risk IMO. How many other Prem clubs get their managers from League 1? Ince is the only other one I can think of. -

Wrong, Stockport were in the Championship. -

He was still poached from 2 leagues down, and he wasn't even the best manager in League 1 that season because Plymouth were 2nd (behind Luton I think). If we were gonna grab a manager from the lower leagues surely we should have flexed our Premiership muscle and nicked the best one from the Championship? Sturrock was a massive gamble, even Ince could be seen as less a gamble because he actually played in the Prem. -
The problem with the Trust is that they have these meetings with board members, they are scared to annoy anyone at the club in case they lose these meetings.
-
We have brought in 14 PLAYERS now since the end of last season, including spending a million odd on Scheiderlin - you are clearly wrong on both counts, there was scope to do things differently and to keep Pearson.
-
1 I think most fans do, they just dont accept the experiments 2 Sacked/mutual consented/gardening leave/contract not renewed = He was kicked out by Lowe.
-
My problem with what Illingsworth said is that he has totally avoided the issue. Most Saints fans accept that we are skint, the reason for the level of hatred is the fact that Lowe sacked Pearson and bulldozed through his own experimental ideas in his usual arrogant style. On Saturday it became obvious that his experiment will probably get us relegated. Illingsworth totally avoids the issue - WHY?
-
Totally agree, some fans are ass holes. It's near impossible to get a Steward charged with anything tho, they will always have the authorities on their side, like heavy handed coppers, bouncers or Israeli snipers.
-
Some stewards do a good job but some deserve a kicking. The problem is you have people with the mental ability of the average Tesco trolly collector given a job where they can actually boss people around.
-
I don't disagree with most of what he says, my problem is he just skirts around the issue - he doesn't even mention Pearson or the Dutch disaster - that is ALL Lowe's fault and why most Saints fans want him strung up - surely as a representative of the fans he should have given it a little mention?
