  1. Lowe must have taken millions out of the club since he's been here. Wages, bonuses, dividends, pay-offs.
  2. I don't think we have a chance. If we had a proper manager we would have an outside chance, having a manager with zero championship experience gives us a severe handicap in this situation. The main reason we are screwed though is because the kids can't handle the pressure. They couldn't handle it when there was no pressure, each game from now on gets more and more serious - experience is vital - we have little in the team and none in the manager.
  3. You are talking complete ****e as usual, there were a few chants at 1-0 but none at 0-0.
  4. If we had a proper manager we would have a chance, as it stands I think we will be relegated by a mile, the last 2 or 3 games will be meaningless IMO.
  5. I think Rupert has to understand that the lower you go down the league, the more the club will rely on the goodwill factor. In the Prem Lowe could treat the fans with as much disrespect as he wanted - it would make no diference, it's not the case in this league. Sacking a popular manager and force-feeding us his experiments has had an effect on attendances as much as the rubbish home form.
  6. Sounds like ******, but the Wilde connection is interesting. Why he lied never did make any sense, maybe he could still pull a rabbit out the hat? Or maybe not.
  7. The thing is they do take the abuse as well as the praise, and of course they are aware that if they play bad then the crowd will not be happy. We all take stick in our work, if I screw up then I get grief of my boss, workmates and clients - and I accept that. Shouting abuse at McLaggon is the equivalent to putting the office Junior in the Managers position, watching him try as hard as he possibly can, they give him abuse for making a mistake knowing full well it is virtually impossible for him to do a proper job. I don't think abuse helps any player - young or old. When we were at the Dell I used to think one reason we stayed up was because in the relegation battle, if we went a goal down, the crowd would get behind the side. I used to remember going away to bigger teams - like Man City and Sunderland, and laugh when we went a goal up and the crowd would turn, hurl abuse and basically make their teams job a whole lot harder. Now it's like the roles have reversed, we think we are the big team with a devine right to stay up so it's us that rips into the team and it's the Doncasters who support when things go bad.
  8. I think you just proved my point, Ali Dia aside you've probably listed a bunch of players who would be legends for a club like Doncaster.
  9. The atmosphere at SMS does not help, there are a lot of fans who have a go at the players. Abuse can effect any player, with kids it's 10x worse IMO. There's not alot that can be done about it, fact is most Saints fans have been spoilt over the years watching Keegan, Channon, Shearer, Le Tiss etc, whoever steps out at SMS will be considered **** by many fans. Teams like Doncaster will have an advantage over us because there is less pressure on them, just like when we were at the Dell.
  10. Could be, true or not it's quality ass licking. Poortvleit probably didn't have a chance with a political mover like him hovering around in the background waiting for his moment to dig the knife in to his back.
  11. It's easy to see how this guy got the job - looks like one of those ass kissers who spend more time sucking up to their employers than actually working. He must have took lessons from Dave Jones - he's the master of doing a **** job and getting away with it.
  12. I still fail to understand this Wotte appointment. Poortvleit didn't work and he was considered the better candidate of the two a few months ago - why do we think another Dutch gamble is going to work now? Also internal appointments have proved completely disasterous for us in the past, surely there must be lessons to be learned from Grey, Wigley etc? If you were looking for a replacement, given the lack of experience in our squad, the most important attribute must surely be experience of the Championship. Someone who knows the league, knows the opposition and knows what is required to stay up. We have hired someone with zero experience in the Championship. It just goes against all logic, it is so hard to give it any support when you KNOW it's going to fail.
  13. They are probably waiting for the club to go tits up so they can pick it up for a song. If that's the case we wont have to wait long.
  14. Askham, Richards, Windsor-Clive & Withers - Am I right in thinking that Lowe promised these guys he would get them "X" amount for their shares in return for their loyalty during the Wilde takeover?
  15. £2m a year is the same as about 4000 fans at £20 a head for each home game of the season. Even if we get 10,000 for each home game (which I doubt) we will have the same income as a team that averages 6,000 - so we will not even be a big boy finance wise in League 1.
  16. Very managable or crippling? I doubt we would get crowds over 10k - someone do the maths...
  17. I didn't say 'upsetting Lowe' should be what they should try to do, I just said they were scared to do anything in case of upsetting him. While the people of Southampton went on a march to try and help save the club they sat around having a meeting - they are a joke of Monty Python proportions.
  18. They are pointless, while the last protest was going on they had a meeting at a pub. Illingsworth is scared of upsetting Lowe, at the moment he has a cosy meeting with him after every board meeting.
  19. Excellent idea, march away from St Marys and have make very visible protest at a large pub like The Square. Lots of banners/colours etc. very simple message to the club's bank - We have money, we want to spend it on football - we don't want to spend it on Saints while Lowe and Wilde are in charge.
  20. No one wishes for it, but it's a case of thinking practically. If relegation means administration is unavoidable, and if it looks like relegation is a certainty - the sensible thing to do is take the 10 point hit this season. -10 next year would make relegation to League 2 the next a very real possibility.
  21. Sack Wotte, bring in a motivator (Dowie, Holloway or Boothroyd) and hope.
  22. Yeah, Pearson was named on the 18th - quite late 5-6ish, we played Plymouth on the 19th.
  23. I say don't give him the same breaks, Wotte's been scrotum deep in this pile of crap from day 1. Get him out now, get someone in who has a least a semi decent record in this country.
  24. I would have him any day over this Wotte clown.
  25. He was appointed the evening before the Plymouth match.
