Yep, can’t see Potter lasting more than a few months.

There have been a few howlers but in the main the decisions have been better with VAR than without. I expect one problem is that referees, by their nature, are over-opinionated arseholes who want to stick there nose in when it is not needed and as soon as the ref is called over to the monitor he is under pressure to change his mind.

It’s mental that 180,000 people can spend 8 weeks assessing both candidates and come to the conclusion that Liz Truss would be better at running the country than Rishi Sunak. I don’t like either of them but wow! This really is the Tory’s Corbyn moment. I wonder how many of the swivel-eyed loons chose Truss as our PM because the other guy ‘stabbed Boris in the back’?

Good window but still think we needed another striker.

Bottles of piss were standard practice at Donnington back in the early 90s. -
Agree, it is a mental decision. I did think his comments were a bit odd after the game though. Will be interesting to see how Bournemouth react, could go into a right tail-spin.

You actually think it would be a good idea to let Russia take Ukraine and just hope they stop there. Wow.

Weird that because I've just had a quick look on the US version of the Daily Mail and, as usual, there is a whole load of stuff having a go at Biden. There's a load of crap about his son’s laptop, something about Democrats not wanting him to stand for re-election, one on a speech he’s going to make, one on him sending arms to Taiwan, one about him appointing a former CIA chief, one on the student tax, another on the Afghan withdrawal, and one about him wearing a face mask. Looks like the President of the US being an incestuous peado is not a very big story.

So no link then, brilliant! You are like the forum clown.

It’s probably hard to sue when it’s worded “reportedly writes of alleged abuse”. Where is the link to where her daughter actually says she was molested?
-
This. It’s pretty obvious he won’t be coming back.

I would be very surprised if Ukraine had anything to do with this. Their whole war effort relies heavily on the support of the West so why take the risk with this sort of terrorist act? Doesn’t make sense or fit with how they have acted so far.

I thought the useless cunt was supposed to be retired? This is like an ending to a shit horror film.

Yet this senile old codger still wiped the floor with your hero.

I think we will go big but it will probably go down to deadline day. The guys we seem to target tend to be one the big clubs have their eye on but don't take a chance on, thus anyone we are after will probably hold out until the last minute in the hope they get that big move.

Agree. Unfortunately the playground bullies on here have nothing better to do.

I expect once the media started raving about him his agent got a few calls and that was job done.

To be fair, I think being able to make 5 subs means a lot of managers will be doing more tactical switches this season. We looked much better with a back 4 but maybe some of that was to do with the change itself and the opposition's lack of ability to respond?

I took that as just managing expectations. We’ve got a very young squad, if they banged on about aiming for the Champions League all it does is dump a load of extra pressure on the players. The new signings are not just young but also pretty much all making a big step up, they need the added pressure of fans’ lofty expectations like a hole in the head. The players will have their own expectations, what the that is and what they say in public will probably be totally different. Every professional footballer will aim to win every single game so it’s all bollocks anyway.

True, either way, nothing is ruining football for me.

This. We looked a different team as soon as we changed to a back 4. You don’t need three centre backs when you have JWP and Lavia holding in the middle.

If someone tweeting something gets you upset don’t go on twitter. Problem solved.

I have no idea, whoever organises that sort of shit at the club I suppose, or whoever attended the meeting.

Considering during our current spell in the top flight we’ve seen teams like Villa, Leeds, Sunderland, Sheffield Weds, Norwich, Derby, Forest, Ipswich etc etc in the league below I think it’s fair to say staying in the league is a decent achievement. The way finances are going it’s going to get harder and harder to stay up without a rich owner willing to splash the cash. The league is different now to 10 years ago let alone 50. I remember Chelsea being in the league below us, now they are spending £60mill on a reserve full back. Teams like Newcastle, Man City and West Ham were traditionally shite when I was a kid now they are spending on a completely different level.
