I think we would be in a better position now if we had kept Ralph on. The results last year were bad but Ralph never had this shower of shite squad anywhere near being relegated in any of his previous seasons.
-
A bit harsh on Lavia but apart from that I agree with the OP. Should have spent the same but on 4 or 5 quality players in the summer, would probably now be mid-table with Ralph still in charge.
-
Love it they get smashed 4 or 5. I want to see some fat geordie cunts crying.
-
Too early to say. On paper we should have a decent squad even after selling a few. For example Che Adams and A Armstrong are both decent championship players who I doubt would interest any Prem sides. It all depends on the finances and how much the owner is willing to stake on a quick return. I don’t have much confidence in them finding the right manager though so you may be right.

A season in the Championship will do him good, about his level at the moment.
-
Nice of Bednarek to get out of the way of the shot. Twat.
-
Load of shite today. Might as well stick with Selles the end of the season then get a new manager for the Championship next year. This season is just a write-off.
-
If results haven't improved in the next 6 games we're shagged anyway. We've run out of time for indecision - we just need to tell him that the jobs his til the end of the season and permanently if we stay up.
-
Getting the right manager in is so hit and miss anyway it would be lunacy to not let him have a crack at the job, especially considering the calibre of those we can attract in our situation.
-
It does make sense to have an experienced CB in there alongside ABK and in front of the kid in goal.
-
It’s a no-brainier for me, the players clearly want to play for him.
-
What a great result. Has made the board’s decision on the next manager an easy one.
-
That's the way I see it. It's always in the manager's interest to have as long a contract as possible - it's money in the bank. It's looking very likely that we will go down but there probably is a good enough team in that squad to maybe stay up, problem is Jones has left us in a right cluster-fuck of a mess. He didn't ever know what his best team was or formation. All we knew was that Bazunu, JWP and if fit KWP would start, after that it was just a lottery.
-
Since when does a manager's contract make any difference to how long they stay at a club for? We could hand him a 10 year contract and he will still be gone in the summer if he is a disaster, or could still be at a bigger club by June if he's brilliant.
-
A short term contract makes sense for both Saints and Marsch, we all know what happens next year depends on wether we go down or not.
-
There's a limit to who would come here in out current situation so whoever we get is going to be a gamble. Marsch doesn't seem like a bad fit to me. Anyone but Lampard.
-
Don’t forget the bell-ends who didn’t want Eddie Howe because he can’t sign good players.
-
Whoever we get you can guarantee one thing. Cunts on here will moan.
-
No one good will want the job so we might as well get Gerrard or Marsch in for the remainder of the season then plan long term in the Championship next year.
-
That’s with having our best player fit again as well. Jones has well and truly fucked us. Sacking Ralph and appointing this clown is up there with the Puel debacle.
-
No different to Pochettino.
-
I think we are past that stage to be honest. We are at home to a team that has managed one away win all season (and that was against Everton). We've spent a lot of money, if Jones can't get his new improved 'uncompromised' side to get three points in this match we might as well give up and accept relegation.
-
Just excuses for failure. There was obviously money to spend and we were a much bigger draw in the summer than we are now.
-
I think with Adams, Armstrong and Mara as the striker options we would be the shittest in the Prem regardless of the manager.
