Would Carrick leave Boro for our shit-show?
-
Not sure what we can sue them for, it’s not like Everton overspending has made to outcome of our season any different.
-
If he actually won some football games no one would give a monkeys about his irritating personality or lack of communication skills. He got sacked because he was just way out of his depth.
-
Think Leicester and Forest will go. Everton have the perfect final game being at home to Bournemouth and Leeds' final game against Spurs is very winnable. Though Arsenal messing up their title run in gives Forest a better chance now the gooners have nothing to play for. Everton, Forest, Leeds and Leicester are pretty much as dislikable as each other in my book so happy to see any of them down.

Nothing to do with being in or out of the EU though. Mogg is talking bollocks as usual.
-
He’s got experience of playing at the top level, some promotions on his cv, experience in the championship and did a good job managing in the Premier League so obviously he would be a good candidate.

I wouldn’t go for anyone unless they have had some sort of success at the league we are in or higher. No bright upcoming managers from League One or below.

Worst Player of the Season Award 2022/23
aintforever replied to niceandfriendly's topic in The Saints
Apart from Lavia, JWP, KWP and Alcaraz they have all been shit. Diallo probably wins though for some really outstandingly poor performances. -
This, his performance in the interview was as lame as his performance on the pitch. I was hoping for once he would show a bit of anger and have the balls to call out a few people but he just delivered the usual rehearsed comments. He’s been a good player for us but he’s not a leader, needs to go in the summer.

Still can’t believe we hired that cunt, it’s like the Wigley thing all over again. Like the person making the decisions is completely detached from reality. Mental.
-
They are taking us for mugs if they expect us believe that was fighting tirelessly. As pathetic as Ward Prowse’s post match interview. Bunch of cunts, hopefully Dragon will be handing out redundancies like confetti this summer.

That article is spot on. It’s very similar to last time we went down with arrogance at the top being the main the reason.

Looks like Stormshadows are already being used: https://twitter.com/albafella1/status/1657061337963327489?s=20

I would go for someone with experience, we have two seasons then the parachutes run out and promotion will be a whole lot harder. We need someone who can come in who knows what it takes to get promotion and knows who to keep and who to get rid of straight away. Can we really afford to risk trying to unearth the 'next Potter or Thomas Frank’? I’m not particularly against promising young managers, just don’t think it would be suitable at this time.

We did, then we didn't. That's what happens when your billionaire owner pops his clogs.
-
I don't disagree. But the fact that he is joint 48th on the top goalscorer list, but 11th on the big chances missed list is a big reason we are bottom of the league IMO.
-
Maybe, because he will be cheap and worth a punt. I expect he will make a handful of appearances, do fuck all, then spend a year or so warming the bench and end up back in the Championship.
-
He did a decent job but there is nothing phenomenal about a club the size of Saints being bankrolled by a billionaire out of League One to the Prem.
-
That would explain why the club is in such a mess.
-
Orsic is definitely the weirdest signing in a season of bat-shit mad decisions. Does anyone actually know how the transfer decisions are made at Saints and who is involved? If my memory is right there used to be some sort of committee. This season there seems to be a complete disconnect between those deciding on the transfers and those picking the team. We would have had more success this season if it was just Arry signing some old mates, at least he would have played his signings.
-
So in short, if we had loads of money we could have kept our best players and been much better. Cheers for that.
-
You are assuming that the laws of common sense apply to SFC.
-
Agree with this, we are potentially in a much better place than last time. But, it all depends on the owner. Wether he wants to take a punt on going straight back up, or wether he just wants to flog what he can, get his money back and do a runner. We could just as easily do a Pompey as we could a Bournemouth - we are at the mercy of a Serbian businessman.

I'd pretty much accepted it after the first few games under Jones. That was one appointment they had to get right and they fucked it big time, it would have been tough job for anyone after Jones had left such a mess.
