Apart from the UK government and those calling for Wembley to be lit up in Israel's colours while they murder innocent civilians of course.

Of course they knew how Israel would respond, we all did. That doesn't mean it is a good idea to support/encourage it.

I think the naive ones are those who believed Israel was acting purely in self defence and trying to minimise civilian casualties. Still think it's a good idea to light Wembley up in Israel's colours?

It's clearly never just been an operation to just take out Hamas from day one, they are just handing out brutal collective punishment which fits with how they have acted in the past. I see Cameron is now calling for a ceasefire, does that mean he will be joining the next 'Hate March'?

But surely any right minded person would want Hamas fighters killed, not innocent relatives.

Yeah, more innocent people dead, that’s just what we need. Genius.
  7. Sounds like a right laugh round your gaff.
  8. I don't know if he's in favour of positive discrimination or not. He made the speech at an organisation that helps people from all sorts of backgrounds into a journalism career with bursaries - and that includes white people (who he apparently hates according to our resident simpletons).
  9. Whatever you call it my point was that he made the comments because he is against discrimination not because he hates all white people.
  10. From the show I listened to I got the impression he was fed up with being surrounded by Ruperts who got their opportunity by daddy funding their internship, or because they went to the right school or daddy knew someone on the board. Basically a lack of diversity in class and race. The bloke is a right soppy sod who constantly speaks out against all forms of discrimination, you need to be thick as shit to think he just hates all white people (see above).
  11. He said pretty much those exact words on one of his radio 5 shows and discussed it with a guest. I remember thinking that you gammons wouldn’t like what he said about being surrounded by mainly white people. If you want to think he hates all white people fine, after listening to him I thought it was pretty obvious it is the system he hates though. You shouldn’t be such a snowflake.
  12. I’m just basing my opinion on what I have heard him say, I couldn’t give a monkeys what race he is. He discusses issues around race on his show quite a lot and from I have heard him say he is very much the opposite of racist. The show where he discussed the people at his work was no different. He wasn’t talking about the whole BBC but just where he worked and his issue was as much about class as race. People getting opportunities based on their contacts and background, rich kids getting internships (who were mainly white) - which is why he commented on being surrounded by white people. He doesn’t hate white people, just the reasons he felt there is a lack of diversity. Wether that is true or not who knows, but that’s his reasons for saying it and given the nature of his previous shows I have no reason to doubt he is being genuine.
  13. NA is not racist, he just thinks there is a discrimination problem in his profession. He has discussed it to great lengths on his show. Anyone who listens to his show regularly would know he is clearly not a racist. A bit of a soppy twat at times tho.

Maybe it's a test to see how obsessed you sad fuckers are with him?

I didn’t need it, just thought it was an interesting perspective from someone who clearly knows more about the situation than you or I. Is that OK with you?

Think it gives an insight into what Israel is doing to Gaza now.
  17. Short term pain for long term gain. The switch to renewables is inevitable, if we become world leaders in the technology our economy will benefit as well as our environment. Digging stuff up and burning it for energy is just not sustainable, when you read about the possible effects of runaway global warming it would be negligent of us not to act for the sake of future generations.
  18. They are not doing enough but it’s still not correct to say are doing nothing about their emissions, their emissions would be higher if they were not investing in renewables. Our attempt at combating climate change is going pathetically badly, you get the feeling millions are going to have to die before any meaningful action is taken. Still think it’s right that developed countries lead the way because change has to happen at some point.
  19. It's not a stretch of the imagination to believe that some people are born with a condition that makes them want to be a different gender, just like some people are born to be attracted to the same sex? If it is an illness that can be cured why did the WHO change it's classification?
  20. Isn't that just called progress? I mean people like you were arguing that being gay was an illness not long ago.
  21. Gender dysphoria is not a mental illness so that analogy is bollocks. People used to think being gay was an illness, as long as you see it that way there is no helping you. The trans person I worked with went through great effort to make her self look like she did (more than most of the other women in my workplace), she was clearly happy living her life like she was, harming no-one. What exactly would you achieve be calling her a he and telling her she was a man because she was born with a cock? Live and let live I say.
  22. A quick google and I found a study that concluded this: Gender-based victimization, discrimination, bullying, violence, being rejected by the family, friends, and community; harassment by intimate partner, family members, police and public; discrimination and ill treatment at health-care system are the major risk factors that influence the suicidal behavior among transgender persons. Whatever the reason for the suicide rate surely the fact that it is so high means they should be treated with kindness and respect? I worked with a transexual woman a while ago and she was great. I have no idea what genitalia she had but apart from having a cracking set of tits she was clearly a transexual. She obviously felt comfortable living as a woman and made a huge effort in her appearance - IMO it would be out of order to not refer to her as a woman. It's attitudes like yours which contribute to their problems.
  23. The problem is, if Starmer backs a cease-fire then the Israeli lobby over here will cry 'antisemitism', the Tories will follow suit and you end up with 'LABOUR ANTI-SEMITSM' headlines in the gutter press again. It's a difficult call but whatever we do our here won't make the slightest difference to what Israel do anyway so he's probably doing the right thing for the Labour Party.
  24. If it meant that much to someone I wouldn't give a shit. I don't get what half these gender terms even mean but just think it's right to treat people with respect, whoever they are or whatever they want to be called. No skin off my nose.
  25. To be honest, I think anyone who has issues with calling someone 'they' instead of 'she' has their own set of problems.
